This Friday, Navya was very excited because Mohit has promised to take her for a walk to the wild life sanctuary tomorrow Saturday. Like the previous days, she got up early and went with Mohit to the campus.
"You didn't forget, right? Tomorrow we have an appointment." Navya felt the need to remind Mohit again before getting out of the car.
Mohit laughed. "Yeah, I remember. Tomorrow we will go to the wild life sanctuary. I promised you." Mohit said to Navya.
Navya smiled sweetly at Mohit. She brought her face closer to Mohit's face, stretched her hand towards the collar of Mohit's shirt, deliberately straightening the position of Mohit's tie which was not tilted. She held back her laughter when she saw Mohit's expression immediately changed, looking shocked and embarrassed. Mohit looked at Navya with his mouth half open.
"Mohit, you look very handsome when you wear a shirt and tie. I like to see it." Navya deliberately launched the next move: praising Mohit.
Mohit blushed and gets even more embarrassed. He held the end of his own tie, as if at a loss as to what to do. "Thanks, Navya..." Mohit whispered.
Navya smiled again. With the sweetest voice possible, she continued, "Well, I'll see you at home this afternoon, Mohit. Have a good day."
"You too have a good day, Navya" answered Mohit in a soft voice.
Navya's lecture schedule is only until one o'clock today, because there are some lecturers who are unable to attend today's class. Sanjana invited Navya to eat meatballs in the canteen of the Faculty of Pharmacy again. Meanwhile, Shraddha and Saurabh had gone home early.
"Two weeks from now, the end of the semester is going to be odd. It's really fast," Sanjana chirped as the two of them were eating meatballs on a park bench near the cafeteria.
"Have you got the theme for the thesis yet, Sanjana? From next semester, we can start writing the thesis, you know," replied Navya while biting the meatball.
"I have a plan, but I'm not sure. What about you? Are you sure you want to take the theme with recombinant DNA technology?" Sanjana asked back.
Navya nodded. "Yeah, I already have a lot of reference books." She replied. Of course the reference books that she was referring to were the books that Mohit had lent her more than a month ago.
"It's good, also you're smart. It's okay to take a heavy theme too. If it's just me, it's light, my brain won't reach it later," said Sanjana.
Navya laughed amused at Sanjana's ramblings. Suddenly, Navya gasped as she looked at the cafeteria. Anjali's figure walked into the cafeteria and sat on one of the benches! But this time she was alone.
"Why Anjali came to the Faculty of Pharmacy again?" Navya began to guess. Navya looked around for Mohit but she didn't found him today in the cafeteria. Then Navya's eyes continued to follow Anjali's movements. The woman didn't order food, just a drink, then sat down again and was busy with her cell phone.
A moment later, Navya's attention was diverted because of Sanjana who invited her to chat again. "Navya, I'll borrow your Biochemistry notes. I want you to complete them for the exam preparation." Sanjana said to Navya.
"Oh, okay." Navya said and reached to her shoulder bag, passing her notebook to Sanjana. Then she took the last of her meatballs and took a sip of warm orange juice.
When Navya returned her gaze to the cafeteria, Anjali was not sitting on the bench, but was walking straight towards her! Anjali's eyes were clearly directed at her.
"Hello, you are Navya, right? Can we chat for a moment?" Anjali asked to Navya standing in front of her table and smiling.
Navya froze for sometime. It turns out that Anjali still remember her and even invites her to chat. "What exactly she want to talk about?" Navya thought in her mind.
On the other hand Sanjana was a bit surprised at Anjali's sudden appearance, but she responded quickly. She had already finished her meatballs and was now reaching for her bag. "Alright, then I'll go home first, Navya. You two have a chat." concluded Sanjana.
Navya nodded, waving at Sanjana. "Yeah, Sanjana, be careful okay." Navya said to her.
After Sanjana left, Anjali immediately sat opposite to Navya. Her round eyes continued to stare Navya. The smile had disappeared from her face.
"Sorry if I suddenly disturbed you. I just want to talk with you. I think this is a lucky coincidence. When will we meet again, right?" Anjali started to speak.
"What's wrong, Ma'am?" asked Navya. Just like Anjali, she also doesn't like small talk.
"I just want to know, what exactly is your relationship with Mohit?" Anjali asked her question directly to Navya.
Navya tried to hide her surprise at the blunt question. "What does she mean by asking that?" Navya asked herself. She was still shocked at her question. Her eyes barely blinked at Anjali.
Anjali caught Navya's doubts. She smiled faintly. "After we met at the bookstore, I had called Mohit many times, asking to meet me. But Mohit seems to be deliberately avoiding me. When Mohit was a speaker at the seminar, I came here and finally got a chance to talk with him in this cafeteria. You know what? ? I was really surprised when Mohit said that he was married to you, Navya." Anjali explained to Navya everything.
A glimmer of victory flashed in Navya's heart. Mohit also recognizes himself as her husband in front of Anjali, the woman who is clearly trying to get close to Mohit!
"But strangely, I've asked the campus administration, there is no record of Mohit's marriage. His status is still unmarried in the employee data. I know that he is already married. But according to everyone says he is not married," Anjali added.
She snorted, staring scornfully. "Why did Mohit marry you, but don't want to admit you as his wife at the campus where he is teaching? Did you marry in a secret marriage, or did you have to marry him?" Anjali asked Navya still staring at her.
Navya's chest suddenly rumbled hot. "Who does you think of yourself. You are thinking that you can talk with anyone the way you like, let me clear you." Navya said in her mind angrily.
"Why do you have to interfere in our personal affairs? What is clear is that Mohit and my marriage is legal in the eyes of the law. About Mohit not telling about our marriage in the campus, it's our personal business," said Navya in a loud voice.
Navya raised the ring finger of her right hand in front of the eyes of Anjali, deliberately showing off the diamond ring that Mohit gave her, which she has been wearing since marriage with Mohit. "This is the ring which Mohit gave me, a sign of our marriage bond. You must have seen by yourself that Mohit also always wears the ring." Navya said to Anjali looking straight into her eyes.
Anjali was silent for a moment. Her face expression changed for a moment as if she was holding back her anger. But a second later, she snorted again. "Oh, that ring.... Yes, I've seen it, Mohit also wear a ring. But has he ever told you that the ring you were wearing was originally bought for me?" Anjali directly attacked Navya's heart with this question.
Navya's face suddenly became pale. Her heart pounded like a drum being pounded loudly. She never expected the answer that came out of Anjali's mouth. "Is that true...? Or is Anjali just making up stories to mess up my heart?" Navya asked to herself.
Anjali smiled sarcastically. "The answer is obvious. Mohit never told you about this. It turns out that YOUR HUSBAND is not really honest with you, Navya!" Anjali said and deliberately emphasizes the word your husband.
Navya gritted her teeth. She couldn't lose to this woman in front of her. "It's not important that for whom Mohit bought this ring originally. What matters the most is who wore it last. Mohit is not being dishonest with me, actually he certainly thinks there is no point in telling stories about you. That's in the past. Now, I am Mohit's legal wife, as well as his future." Navya said it as calmly as possible, even though her heart was racing with anger.
Anjali is a woman who is very good at hiding her feelings. Even if she was angry, she didn't show it clearly. On the contrary, she even grin.
"We'll see how long your marriage can last. It's very strange, how come Mohit wants to be with a child like you!" Anjali said to Navya.
After saying that, she immediately stood up and left Navya quickly. Navya felt like banging on the table and screaming that she wasn't a kid anymore! But she remembers, this is the Pharmacy campus environment, where Mohit is a lecturer. She can't be careless, so she remained quiet.
Navya took several deep breaths, trying to calm herself down from anger. "Anjali what a scary woman! Her beautiful face doesn't match her cynical and condescending attitude. I will never be willing to let Mohit be with a woman like you! Mohit is mine only" Navya said to herself confidently.
