Celeste's POV
The morning was going wonderful. Nathaniel and I had resolved any anger from last night's silly argument and I thought it had been forgotten about. I made us both breakfast, egg on toast. I remembered that it was Nate's favourite. We shared some amusing stories from our childhood.
I was really enjoying his company. How I had missed my big brother, he made me feel safe just like our childhood. He was the only person in the family who showed me kindness.
After we had finished breakfast, the conversation turned sour again.
I was in the kitchen and Nathaniel hung around the doorway, his tall lean figure propped up the doorframe and his golden curls framed his face. I could tell by his expression his mood had changed. I didn't ask, not wanting to start any negative conversation again.
