Frederick Quinn's POV

What does that actually mean? How is it even possible?! Did I get that feeling because I broke the cruse or am I not the Alpha KIng?! 

No! That's not possible. 

I proved to be the Alpha King and was selected by the Moon goddess herself! Why the hell did I get a mate?!

I always wanted a mate and was disappointed that I couldn't have one when I was selected by Moon Goddess as an Alpha King among my brothers. 

I took a sigh, shaking that thought out of my head. My wolf might have been confused between my tenses-clam feeling into finding a mate. 

"No! It is not! This is not the first time you were stressed or tensed or even felt calm. This is different, you can feel the heartbeat! It only happens when we get to meet our mates! Our only one, and the love of our life! There is something else, we need to look into that" My wolf screamed as he wanted to know the exact reason. 

I can't argue with him for the same reason because he is right. I never felt such a feeling before. 

It was different

It felt so good

and so nice. 

My eyes widen, remembering my father's book self. I got up from the seat and walked up to my father's bookshelf, which had his collections of books and documents. I just hope he has encountered something like this. 

I stopped in front of the big shelf and started to search for something that was related to what I felt back then. 

My eyes went through all the book titles, trying to see something similar, but no, every book here is related to all the work. He has done the things that he expected me to do. 

My eyes stopped at the book titled "Alpha King's Curse".

I raised my hand and reached the book on the top 3rd floor of the shelf. 

I only know that every Alpha King has a cruse of not getting a mate, and that's it, nothing else.

Everything about this curse has been kept a secret until the next Alpha King finds out. 

I turned my foot back to my seat, opened the book, and saw a paper on the first page of the book with my royal father's handwriting. 

"Congratulations son for finally becoming the Alpha King and getting your hands on this book. This secret book is only passed down to the Alpha King's generation so no one knows about it. Do not even tell this to your mother. You will know everything about this curse in this book". 

My eyes frowned in confusion about the mystery. 

I sat on my comfortable seat and was about to open the book to know everything about the curse that I had. 

*Knock* *Knock*

*Knock* *Knock* 

I raised my head to see Alendra entering the room after knocking a few times. 

She is the only one with the courage to enter my office without my permission.

"Didn't you know the rules? You should have been the one to meet that new woman of yours, while I should just be standing next to you! Why didn't you come?" Alendra said as soon as she entered the room and closed behind. 

"I am busy." I gave her the usual reply. Placing the book in my drawer, and picking my document for tomorrow's meeting with the ministers.

"Stop reading that! I need your focus on me for 10 minutes, then you can go back to whatever the hell you are doing!" Alendra shouted, getting closer to me.

I took a sigh, placed the document down on the table, and forced my eyes on her. She is the only one who has the power to make me listen to her nonsense.

She stood straight like the Queen she is. Then she turned her focus on me, saying with her smooth voice, "Your Highness, I know that you are busy, but when it comes to certain things in the harem, you should give your focus there too. You know that she will be married to you only when you meet her while entering the palace and consuming the night with her. Then you can go back to do your work".

"So, what do you want me to do?" I asked, my voice filled with indifference, looking at Andrea getting a little uncomfortable.

"Consume the night with a human concubine tonight," she said, avoiding my eyes.

"Are you okay with that?" I asked, getting a little closer.

"Fine! I am not OK! You know that I love you and I don't like seeing you with others but... These are the rules and I can't do anything just because I am jealous, moreover, I wanna be a good Queen and do my work. So please do your work and make her your concubine officially," she blabbered out like a pissed jealous teenager. She has always been possessive, and I love seeing that reaction on her face.

She is beautiful, cute, and knows when and where to stop. 

"Fine," I said, getting up from the seat and then continued. "Isn't this already my bedtime? Get her here, let me finish my work".

This is just a part of my job as an Alpha king. I didn't take any of the women that I slept with to heart because I didn't care about them.

She nodded her head, getting a little hurt but still doing her job as a perfect Queen. This is the only reason that I made Alendra my Queen. She can understand me and knows her place. She knows how to behave and be there for me as my best friend.

She knows me better than anyone and has always been next to me from a very young age, so it is comfortable to be with her.

"Yes, Your Highness and she is a human, so please don't treat her like you treat other she-wolf. She can't handle your strength," she said, walking out of the room and giving me a last look.

Her eyes are filled with jealousy and pain. 

She was the happiest woman when I asked her to marry me and thought we could have the life of a happy couple forever but, what she doesn't know is that I can't be there for her she has always been there for me. 

I am just her king and husband like I am to the other 50 concubines in this palace. 

I am trying my best to limit myself from having concubine so this human is going to be my last. 

I can't handle more women like my ancestors.

I shook my head, getting back from those thoughts and went back to work. 

It's been a long day.

I closed the file and got up from the desk, finishing all the pending work. That's when I saw the drawer, getting back the memory of the book, My hand moved forward so that I could take the book and read everything about this curse, but stopped. 

Shit! She must have been waiting!

I walk to the door, thinking that I might read the book tomorrow. 

I locked the door behind me as no one was allowed to go in without my permission. 

I walk down the hall to the room where I only used to be with my concubine. 

I started to feel something different, as I got near the room, the same feeling that I felt before. The same feeling that made me wolf to think we found the mate. 

No one is on this floor while I am here with my concubine as I don't want anyone to hear anything that we both do. 

I stopped in front of the door, as the feeling increased and my heartbeat picked up, pounding against my heart.

My eyes widened with the sudden realization that hit me. I never felt like this until today and it weirdly coincides with the day this human walked in. 

Is she my mate?!
