Scent Of Blood

Damien noticed something was a little off about his mate. After their heart-to-heart conversation a few nights ago, he noticed she had been sneaking off in the middle of the night.

He often woke to find her missing from their bed. At first, he thought she had simply left for a late-night run. When either of them could not sleep, that was what they would do.

"Where could she have gone?" He muttered to himself as he touched the cold empty mattress next to him.

He flickered his eyes open and looked out the window. The moon still hung high above in the dark night sky. Damien sat up in bed and flexed his leg muscles. It was feeling a little sore from the lack of activity during the night but it didn't bother him much.

He promptly got out of bed shortly and put on his clothes, ready to go look for Safira when the door to their room unlatched. Immediately, Damien got back in bed and reduced the rate of his heartbeat to a steady rhythm.
