The Decipher

When we made it to the house I went straight to my room, with Alpha Casey hot on my heels. I got to my door and turned around to look at him. I didn't want anyone to see us together yet as I simply hadn't come to terms with it myself. I needed to process it without other people projecting their opinions on the situation.

"What are you doing?" I asked confused as to why he hadn't gone back to his pack mates or his own room.

"You are my mate and I'm not leaving your side." he shrugged, trying to walk into my room.

I put my hand on his chest to stop him walking any further and stood in the way of the door. My hand erupted with a tingling electricity which hummed between us from the contact. I quickly snatched my hand back, not wanted to give in to it.

"Please just leave me alone. For today and tomorrow at least. I need some time." I said calmly, crossing my arms over my chest to refrain from touching him again. Even though I tried to deny it, that electricity between us was intoxicating.

"But I want to be with you!" He whined, like a child.

"Please Alpha Casey. I just need some time to get my head around everything. I'm eighteen! I'm so young to be a Luna. It's a lot to take in," I huffed.

He stayed quiet for a moment and appeared to be thinking. After a moment of pondering, he sighed and nodded. "Okay. One day. After that I will not let you leave my side. Unless you need to use the bathroom because that would be slightly strange. For you anyway," he added the last bit with a smirk.

I scrunched my face up in disgust. "Ew!"

"I'm joking!" He chuckled.

"Oh phew" I laughed. "I guess I'll see you around?"

He nodded and gave me a soft smile before walking away down the hall. When he was gone I closed the door, locked it. I face planted onto my bed and let the tears fall. I don't know why I was crying but I couldn't stop. Perhaps it was shock with a mixture of fear. I was rudely interrupted by a knock at the door.

"Go away!" I screamed, expecting it to be Alpha Casey again.

"Annabelle, come on let me in," I heard Dean say from the other side of the door. "Belle?"

I sighed, pulling myself out of bed and unlocked the door. As I opened the door and Dean came into view, I noticed his face immediately turn to concern.

"Oh belle. Come here," Dean sighed pulling me into a tight hug. "What happened?" he asked resting his chin on my head.

"Long story" I said as I pulled away and Dean wiped my tears away with his thumbs.

"Then it's a good job I have a lot of time," he smiled.

I told Dean everything from the second I knew alpha Casey was my mate to the second he walked away. We were sat on my bed and he was hugging me while I lay on his chest. After hearing the story Dean stayed quiet for a little while. "I cant see how any of this is bad," he shrugged.

I scowled at him. "Are you serious?"

"Hear me out," he chuckled. "So you're mated to an alpha which is scary but also pretty cool since you have always been Luna material. You were raised by a alpha so you know pretty much everything there is to know about it. Also I think the main point you are forgetting to acknowledge is the fact that you will not be here, will Callum and the fear of being banished. You need to focus on the positive side of things my dear friend," He smiled.

"I think you're forgetting the fact that Alphas are scary!" I quipped.

Dean sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Belle. You need to move on. You can't live in your past and you need to learn that not every man is like Callum. It will be okay, and hey. If you go there and realise its not working, you can reject him then. At least learn a bit about him and his pack first."

I thought about what he said to me. He was right. I had been given the opportunity to show the world my strength and more importantly I had been offered an escape from my brother. I didn't fail to see the irony in the way I was acting about it.

"Give him a chance Belle. He been nothing but nice to you and from what you have told me, he is really trying to make this transition comfortable for you. I'll visit you as much as I can and you can come over here too. You knew we would have to live our lives at some point and now that time has come. You'll be okay. You'll be an awesome Luna and maybe someday, a mother." he said, smiling down at me.

I nodded. "Come on. You better get out before mister, 'I'm so mighty' notices" I said doing a terrible impression of Casey. We both burst out laughing and he got up.

"Yeah I suppose I should."

He walked to the door and turned around. "I'll miss you, melon" he said walking out laughing.

I'll miss you too, plum. I mind linked him, knowing he already gone.

I lay back on my bed with a sigh. He always knew exactly what to say to make me feel better. It was one of his great qualities. I knew I was overreacting about my mate but I was truly terrified. Life had really thrown me straight into the deep end. I had to teach myself to trust not just a man, but an alpha. I suppose the moon goddess never heard of baby steps.

I looked at the time on my phone and realised it was 2 am. I groaned, knowing I would have a terrible sleep and quickly got ready for bed. I walked into the bathroom, brushed my teeth and washed the make up off my face. I brushed my hair and walked back out, into the closet. I threw on a pair of shorts and a tank top and flopped on my bed, falling asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.
