The False Knight

A day has passed

Rodan and Shade are up early in the morning they are preparing everything they need for the mission.

"Are you guys leaving already?" Arunna asked

"Yes, We want to rescue Lord Ulric as soon as possible." Rodan replied

"Will you take us with you? I'm a skilled swordsman while my sister is a skilled magician."

Rodan and Shade looked at each other

"I think it is too dangerous for you ladies to come with us, also we don't know who we are fighting here." Shade responded

"But we will be back soon, and by that time your father is with us already." Shade added

Arunna just smiled, but the two still feel the deep sadness within her heart

Old man Ed walks up to the group

"You should just stay here and let the professionals do their work." Ed said

"You will just hold them back, in your current state you will just hinder them from doing their job."

Arunna looked down, she knows that she is still too weak to save her father, Kaleena went up to her and puts her hand on her sister's back.

"It's okay sister, let's just trust Rodan and Shade on this. We already saw how strong they are, I'm sure they will be able to save our father." Kaleena said with a bright smile while comforting her sister

Arunna smiled back at Kaleena then nodded

Ed smiled at the two ladies

"I'm saying you two needs to stay here because starting today you will start your training"

Arunna and Kaleena were surprised at what Ed said; the old man himself will be training them. They are suddenly filled with joy and they are looking more motivated now. The disappointment in their faces a while ago suddenly banished and replaced by pure joy.

"Is it true?! You will train us? But why?" Arunna asked while in deep confusion

"Because I think you need it, now enough questions and go outside and wait for me, I need to talk to Rodan and Shade for a while." Ed replied

Arunna and Kaleena went outside to give them space for their discussion

Rodan, Shade, and Ed are left inside the house

"I believe that there is someone who ordered Midnight to attack the caravan of Lord Ulric, knowing him he doesn't let his victims stay alive unless there is a contract signed.

"I want you to go back to the cave and search it." Old man Ed requested

"Why did you suddenly decide that you will train them?" Rodan asked

"I mean it's been a long time since you've trained someone" Shade said

"Did you see something in them?" Rodan added

Old man Ed smiled at the two

"Yes, the exact same thing that I saw in both of you before I trained you."

Rodan and Shade are surprised at what Ed said but they didn't say a word and just smiled beneath their helm and mask. They said their goodbyes to Old man Ed and the two ladies, now they are off on to another journey.

"How long do you think it will take before they save our father?" Kaleena asked Arunna

"I don't know but there is one thing I'm sure, they will definitely save him."

After some time Ed steps out of the room to meet the two ladies outside.

"Now shall we begin your training?" Ed said with a smile

Rodan and Shade headed out of the city to track down the person who has Lord Ulric. They are headed to the place where Midnight was killed.

They entered the dark forest and after some time they arrived at the cave where Midnight lives

Rodan and Shade went inside the cave; The cave is so dark, and they cannot see anything.

Shade raised his arm and open his hand and whispered

"Luminous"

A small light ball appeared in his hand enlightening the whole cave. The cave looks like a normal cave with lots of rocks, water droplets everywhere but something got their attention it is when they saw a different faces of dead people hanging on the wall.

"This guy is crazy." Shade disgusted by the place

Rodan and Shade are looking around the cave, the smell is getting stronger and stronger coming from the rotted skins.

"Just do your thing Shade, I don't want to stay here any longer."

"Patience please." Shade replied

Rodan stands still and gave Shade a death stare

"Will you please hurry up?" Rodan said

"Fine…. Fine…. then please step outside for a bit? I can't concentrate while you are here." Shade said to Rodan

Rodan went outside, Shade was left alone inside the cave, it is so dark. He stands still in the middle of the cave and closed his eyes, and he whispered

"Time Warp"

Shade suddenly vanished into thin air, he is in a constant series of events that happened inside the cave, he is currently going back in time. Whenever he uses this ability he cannot do anything and people cannot see him. After some time it stopped, he is in the cave yesterday, he saw Lord Ulric inside the cave sitting in the corner passed out, there is a huge wound in his belly.

Shade saw Midnight on the other side of the cave, he is currently talking to someone, it is a man wearing a cloak. He can't really see his face because it is quite dark.

"My time limit is 2 minutes I need to know who that man is before I return to the present." Shade whispered in his mind

"Welcome I've been waiting for you," Midnight said

"Yes... I am sorry if I am late." the cloaked man said

the man suddenly yelled "Oh god, it's too hot in here!"

He then removed his cloak; revealing his appearance, it is a middle-aged man who has a circular body with light brown skin, hazel eyes with horizontal pupils, he has no hair. He is of average height and he dresses quite fashionably.

"This man looks familiar; I think I saw him before." Shade whispered

Shade focused his ears on the conversation of Midnight and the man

"Well done, you've done a great job." The man said

"Yes, but his daughters escaped and they went to the city so I couldn't follow them." Midnight said

"It's fine, as long as I have the head of the Phairus Clan." The man said

"Of course, it was such an easy task and I collected a lot of beautiful faces thanks to you." Midnight replied

"He has an interesting swordsman in his caravan, he was quite tough but he is still far from my level. So I defeated and killed him."

"Ah yes, that must be Brocton the right-hand man of Ulric." the man said

The man then looked at Lord Ulric

"He is already on death's doorstep, I need to hurry and get him treated. It will be such a waste if he is going to die here."

"Then I will be going now, I will be taking him with me." The man said

Midnight agreed and didn't do anything

Suddenly two people went inside the cave wearing black cloaks they grabbed Lord Ulric and took him away.

The time warp is ending; Shade heard the whole conversation and right after that he was returned to the present. He is sweating a lot; he falls on to his knees, he is breathing heavily. Rodan hurriedly goes back inside the cave to check on Shade.

"I think I know who has Lord Ulric." Shade said

"Who?" Rodan asked

"But please can you give me some water first." Shade requested

Rodan immediately offered water for Shade to drink. He is still breathing heavily, using time warp caused so much stress to his body and his mind.

"Who took Lord Ulric?" Rodan asked

Shade stared at Rodan for a minute, Rodan know something is wrong

"It is another merchant." Shade said while breathing heavily

"A merchant? What do you mean?" Rodan asked

"Midnight is working for a merchant. I'm sure that merchant ordered to attack Lord Ulric's caravan."

"I can't believe it, a bandit working for a merchant?" Rodan said while being confused

"Me either, this is the first time I encountered a bandit talking to a merchant casually."

"But there is one more thing that is bothering me, the man that I saw is Lord Ulric's best friend, Prab Sunfire." Shade said

"Prab Sunfire? You mean the second famous merchant? The co-founder of Sun Swords Guild?" Rodan asked these questions

Shade did not answer Rodan's question because he doesn't have the answer, now they are both confused. They are currently sitting inside the cave thinking on what reasons Prab Sunfire do that. While they are thinking a noise is suddenly heard outside the cave.

"Stay here Shade, I will go check it out."

"Go ahead." Shade replied

Rodan stands up and goes out of the cave, he is surprised when he see 20 Mercs standing outside all wearing the same armor and weapon, a yellow armor with swords that have sun crest in it. There is also one who stands out to them. This Merc is as tall as Rodan.

The Mercs then stand a side and the tall man is walking in the middle of the Mercs, they are giving way for him out of respect. He is wearing a blazing red armor, with phoenix wings on both sides. He has two swords on his waist, it has both a sun crest on it. Rodan recognized this Merc it is Hab Sunfire the commander of Sun Swords Guild and the older brother of Rab Sunfire and the eldest son of Prab Sunfire.

"Where is your partner? I heard he gave my little brother a good beating the other day. I just want to repay him." Hab Sunfire said

"I'm sorry, but my partner is currently busy right now. If you want I'll just tell him that you came by."

"So you like giving out jokes?"

"Bring him out now False Knight or I will also kill you right here, right now." Hab replied

Rodan smiled at the Mercs

"Please do try, I insist." Rodan replied

Hab commanded 5 of his Mercs to kill Rodan, these 5 people used the same technique Rab used

"Heat Step"

All of the Mercs charged in a great speed. Rodan stood still and waited for them to come closer when the 5 Mercs are close enough. Rodan threw a punch in front of him hitting the air then suddenly a heavy wind hit the 5 Mercs, and they all lost their footing and stumbled, and fell to the ground.

Rodan started slowly walking towards Hab Sunfire with his head high, and full or courage and pride then he whispered

"Downward Force"

As Rodan walks past the 5 Mercs who are currently in the ground an immense force pulls them down to the ground, the closest Rodan is to the Mercs the more immense the power is. The 5 Mercs who charged in first are being crushed by an invisible force, The other Mercs who are behind Hab Sunfire are seeing cracks on the Ground. They are feeling the tension as Rodan gets closer to them, they are already panicking because they see the huge difference in power.

Hab Sunfire is the only one who is not affected by Rodan's force

Rodan is slowly walking towards Hab Sunfire and his Mercs of the Sun Swords Guild.

Rodan is already standing in front of Hab Sunfire, they are facing each other, the aura is so intense that the Mercs behind Hab has lost their consciousness.

Rodan and Hab Sunfire are facing each other

Then Rodan said

"I repeat"
