When Cameron enters his apartment, a sweet scent immediately clogs his nose. He takes off his jacket and enters the living room.
Kaz is sitting on the window sill, looking out into the busy streets, smoking. The soft wind blows his curls into his face.
Cameron sighs.
"I told you-"
"I know."
His head turns around but he doesn't look guilty or upset, just tired.
"I was waiting for you to come back to say goodbye."
Only now Cameron sees the empty couch. The pillow and blanket are gone. Kaz' backpack is leaning against it.
"You're leaving?"
Kaz nods and looks back outside the window to pull on the joint.
"Thank you for letting me stay. And for the food."
"But why?"
Kaz shrugs his shoulders.
"I don't feel safe here anymore. This place is messing with my mind."
"Excuse me?"
Kaz gets up and grabs his backpack. "You made me kiss you."
