Alexandria – Part 1

Nova was doomed and she knew it. Just after escaping the vampires at her kingdom yesterday, she unluckily ran into another one who was not just a mere vampire but the King.

"I- if I give you some of my b- blood, will you let me go?" She asked hoping that he would.

"Darling, I need more than just some of your blood. Especially after holding myself back for this long instead of just taking it."

"Then what else do you need?"

He looked at her for a while gauging her expression before saying, "Work for me."

One second.

Two seconds.

Three seconds.

"Huh?" She finally asked after a momentary pause. Did he just say he wanted to work... for him?

"I don't like repeating myself, darling." He said. His expression coming off serious but the endearment which ended his statement showed that he was amused.

"You mean as a maid?" She blinked at him.

"Yes, but you will be working as my personal maid instead. How does that sound?" A sly smirk appeared on his lips replacing the seriousness on his face before.

Nova went silent. Should she agree and work at the palace of vampires or should she say no and find a way to escape? None of her options sounded like good ideas but the former was a better option than the latter.

"I will take your silence as a yes then. From now on you will work as my maid and you will serve no one else but me, understood?"

Serve no one else? Even God? The man was crazy, she thought to herself but nevertheless she nodded.

"Understood." But there was one thing they needed to address.

"Will you be taking my blood?"

"Yes." He flashed his mischievous grin that would make anyone mesmerized but still cower in fear at the same time. "But don't fret. I will make sure not to kill you in the process."

Nova wondered if that was supposed to calm her because it did the exact opposite instead.
