"Uncle, how are you? Are you doing well recently?" Sky Scar always treated older people very politely, and the people in the slums held a positive impression about him.
Uncle Rael appeared very friendly, "Hehe, things are far better now than before, all of our happiness comes from the Saintess. Oh, I see, the Saintess saved you last time, you must have come to thank her. But you're late, it's already been a month."
Sky Scar was about to say something, but then he saw the doors to Saintess's room open. Today, she wore a simple, white, long skirt. Each lacked any decorative accessories, but it only made the feeling of her purity even stronger.
Uncle Rael gave Sky Scar a strange smile and said, "Look, the Saintess has come out. I'll let you two talk and not interrupt. Sky Scar, don't bully the Saintess, or else, none of the people here will forgive you." After finishing, he left with a hearty laugh.
Sky Scar felt a bit embarrassed and looked at the Saintess, only to see her giving him a soft smile. She gestured him to come in, "Come in, let's talk inside."
As things were, Sky Scar couldn't avoid it anymore and reluctantly entered the Saintess's room. The room still contained only one bed, apparently brought in later. Lily closed the door, "What brings you here today? Are you scared of seeing me?"
Sky Scar scratched his head, embarrassedly said, "Not really that I am scared of seeing you, it's just that, what I am..." He found it hard to explain. In his heart, he was afraid of cultivating feelings for the Saintess. He was very rational and knew what the Saintess had in mind. Although he also hoped to help the people in the slums, he could never aim to attain the Holy state that the Saintess had achieved. If he developed feelings, it would inevitably be hard to break away. Sky Scar had his dreams and certainly did not want to stick around in the slums with the Saintess forever. So, he could only distance himself as much as possible.
"Don't bother explaining, I just hope you can think of me as a friend. Are you leaving?" The Saintess looked at Sky Scar with a soft gaze as if she could perceive everything.
Sky Scar nodded, "Yes, I will be leaving. Perhaps the trials outside can bring me greater progress."
A hint of loneliness showed in Lily's eyes, "Everyone has a different goal, if you want to explore, then go ahead."
Sky Scar couldn't help but voice his doubts, "Lily, don't you find it lonely to stay here all the time? There's not even any entertainment here."
Lily smiled, "What do you think would happen if the people in the slums heard what you just said?"
Sky Scar paused and forced a smile, "I'm afraid they'd tear me to pieces. Nevertheless, I really want to know."
Lily softly said, "As I said before, everyone chases different things. Like you, you're in pursuit of greater power. However, I'm not. Helping others brings me the greatest joy, I don't feel lonely here. Every person here is my friend. Living here is like living in a big family. So, you don't need to worry about me at all."
Sky Scar nodded, "I understand. Lily, I'm leaving Ningding City early tomorrow. As for where I'm going, I have not thought about it yet. I will just take one step at a time. I have one last question. The Light System Super Ability is extremely rare and ranks at the top of all supernatural abilities. I am curious, why haven't you joined the Holy Alliance with the level of ability like yours?" Sky Scar once assessed Lily's strength and was shocked to discover that it was beyond his reach. Although she never displayed her Light System Super Ability to him, her level was likely not less than 20, potentially even higher. Madame Oya seemed like a lofty mountain to Sky Scar, while Lily was like a mysterious abyss - he could not figure out the depth of her strength.
"Don't you feel your question is a little silly? If I joined the Holy Alliance, how could I be doing what I'm doing now? Sky Scar, I have a feeling that although you are not powerful enough now, you will eventually comprehend my true strength in the not so distant future. There's another thing you need to understand: actually, Light, Dark, and Space superpowers are all very powerful and there isn't a hierarchy among them, it all depends on personal comprehension."
A determined glint flashed in Sky Scar's eyes, "Trust me, I will become a powerful supernatural being. Remember what you said last time, that we will have a chance to meet again in the future? I believe that too. Goodbye, the most beautiful Lily." Without lingering, Sky Scar left at maximum speed using his flying skill. Lily's kindness was too powerful and overwhelming. Being with her, his heart unconsciously became calm, and he felt like his desires were disappearing. He couldn't stay any longer, he had to leave.
Early the next day, Sky Scar bid farewell to his parents and returned to the City of Zhongting using his flying skill. He didn't plan to settle in Zhongting, but it is the biggest transportation hub and he needs to transit from here to the planet Damon mentioned. To reach higher levels, the best way was to find a good mentor - he wouldn't miss the opportunity if he could help it.
As Sky Scar strolled along the big streets of the City of Zhongting, sipping a beverage, he felt relaxed. His trip home was not wasted as he obtained another superpower. He didn't care what the Dark Alien Ability symbolized, he just wished to enhance his power.
Sky Scar decided to find a shop and spend his only remaining 200 coins on a nice outfit. After all, now that he was an outer manipulator, he shouldn't always wear his Academy of Zhongting uniform. Getting a stylish outfit was necessary. He had luck on his side today. After an hour of browsing he spent 30 coins on a fake designer outfit that looked authentic from the outside.
Suddenly, a commotion from the corner of the street ahead caught Sky Scar's attention. His senses were keener now since his Cosmic Energy had entered the Second Stage.
"Run, boy! Let's see where you can escape to now! Aren't you great at stealing? Today I will kill you!"
"Ouch! Sir, please spare me. I won't dare do it again. I have an old mother aged eighty and a child who is not yet even one year old. Please spare me this once."
He had to laugh at the clichéd pleas for mercy. This thief was rather amusing. He instinctively turned into the corner and, under the cover of darkness, he saw a group of three or four people encircling something. With his Cosmic Energy, his movements were nimble and quiet, allowing him to get closer undetected.
This was a dark corner, hidden behind the brightness of the City of Zhongting.
Sky Scar saw three or four people surrounding something. Except for one fat guy, the others were tall and looked like bodyguards. A youngster was squatting in the middle with his hands over his head. His sleeves were torn, revealing some bruises.
"Beat him! If he dies, it's on me. How dare you steal my credit card, and sell it at a low price too! The card has several of my sweethearts' numbers. If I don't beat you to death, I don't deserve to be called the king of the City of Zhongting."
The bodyguards rolled up their sleeves viciously. One of them even pulled out a laser whip from his clothes. The laser whip wasn't a joke - if it strikes, it could easily break bones.
Remembering the times when he was looked down upon, Sky Scar felt a sense of righteous anger, "So what if you have a lot of people on your side? I want to see what this 'ruler' can really do," His body moved swiftly, like a bolt of lightning, into the group of bodyguards. The man with the laser whip only felt his wrist shake and saw his laser whip disappear. Sky Scar appeared next to the crouching youngster, "Why are you squatting there helplessly? Stand up and let's see what they can do to you."
The youth was stunned at first. His next move made Sky Scar's jaw drop. The youth hugged Sky Scar's leg tightly, as if he had found his lifesaver, "Brother, you must help me! These villains want to rob me. I have an 80-year-old mother and a son who is less than a year old at home. I can't die!"
