What Leon didn't know was that soon that smile on her face will turn into a murderous sinister thrown. And the reason was to do with him and a certain fucked nan that was most likely going to disappear in the next 24 hours, never to be seen ever again.

{Random Nurse Pov}

{10:25 pm/ Hasegawa Hospital}

Looking at the time on the hospital interface the nurse on duty couldn't help but sigh. She was supposed to have gone home already but a friend of hers had gotten ill so she asked if she could do her shift for her.

She did want to go home but as her Friends condition wasn't the best she decided to just do it. At least she will get more credits by the end of the month. Maybe she could even buy that massage chair she's been eying since two weeks ago.

" Maybe next month, if I have some spare spending money. Now to check the birth files before heading to see how the patients are doing."

What she was doing now was checking logs from this year and last year. It was done year-round to make sure things like paperwork and illness diagnosis was done properly. Since there were thousands of these of course she couldn't check them manually one by one.

She had the computer Ai do it for her, if there was anything abnormal then the Ai would flag it and show her. But there were seldom any problems.

Hell, the last time there was one was like 5 years ago.

(Beep beep beep)

" Huh, don't tell me there's a problem." She checked what the Ai Had found, but what she saw confused her. It was a document for a genetically modified baby.

This was actually quite normal because science improved so did technology. Scientists around 500 years ago managed to discover a lot of secrets in humanity's DNA Sequence and genome so after a lot of experimentation. They were able to modify egg and sperm cells to make babies to their liking, like having the mother's and father's eyes or nose. They could even treat inherited diseases. And if the mother didn't want to give birth then she could just have her egg fertilized and grown in a birthing pod. The baby would be just as healthy as a baby born through their mother sometimes even more so.

This method was used a lot because in the past a lot of mothers died from childbirth. This method was also used because of the population. There was a shortage of men in this world, to be more precise it was a ratio of 7:3. And because of this women found it hard to find a partner they could settle down with so they just went with this option if they couldn't find a husband.

The nurse looked at the data of one of these Babies but couldn't find any abnormalities, all she saw were logs of the child's fazes and growth over the months in the Birthing pod.

" Leon Eragon, mhh Eragon why does that name sound familiar, but I can't seem to remember where I heard that name before. " Ai what seems to be the problem here it says that the child is healthy with no complications."

The Ai was silent for a moment before showing some abnormal data. It was showing that around 1 year ago near the child's due date an unknown substance was injected into the feeding tube of the birthing pod.

" Unkown substance, what does...Ai who was the one that was on Pod Duty at that time." The Ai was silent again before showing the data. It was actually her friend that was on duty that night. But according to the AI, it wasn't her.

As the times the feeding happened and the time her friend had gone to check things were ok weren't matching up at all. No one could get in the Room unless they either were on duty or they had a higher Authority clearance card.

So if it wasn't her friend then who" Ai give me the list of everyone that entered the birthing pod room that day." And as she looked she got more and more confused. None of these people were there at the time and were off duty or on their breaks. But that was when she saw something strange.

" Huh, What is his name doing here." The name that Appeared was of a Doctor named Dr. Wayat. He was a doctor that focused on cardiology and that worked on the west wing of the hospital while child care was on the East side.

And if she remembered correctly Dr Wayat was on holiday around that time with his wife before news spread that his wife had found another man with a bigger..cough, in any case, what was he doing at the hospital when he was supposedly on holiday.

Now that she looked at the time as well while he logged into the room at 12.37 pm, the unknown substance was injected at 12: 59. It made no sense to her.

She was now getting really worried so she asked the Ai to show her the footage of the east Birthing room from 12:35 to midnight.

But sadly she didn't have the level of clearance to look at the Footage. Only security, A level 3 personnel, or the president could see hospital footage.

"Do I need to go all the way to security, but I need a good reason to see the footage. Plus I don't think this case is simple, the security on duty right now is Dr Wayats Cousin if there's something that could hurt his cousin's reputation he might cover it up or say nothing happened like it must have been a glitch in the system...so what should I, wait that it, Ai Commence protocol 23754 Dash 01.1."

The Ai asked if she was sure I wanted to go through with the command and I agreed. protocol 23754 Dash 01.1. Was there in case of an emergency and the police or someone of the sort needed classified files?

Though the moment the command was initiated the President or someone from the Hasegawa family would be informed immediately and if the person who initiated the protocol had no good reason to or didn't find what they were looking for they were either severely punished or Fired from the job.

She was basically risking her lively hood on this but she had a feeling she would get a satisfactory answer with the footage.
