Small note*
Please be aware that this will be slightly or even completely different from hiccup and toothless's original story. The major difference will be shown later. But certain actions may have changed or been added to the original story from the movies
POV: Hiccup
Hiccup saw the black shadow in the sky- now trapped in ropes and unable to fly- fall into the woods below with a loud roar.
'hah... I did it!' Realizing his accomplishment, the boy jumped up and exclaimed "yes! I did it! I can't believe I did it-" he immediately stopped as he heard a low growl behind him.
He turned around slowly, only to see that a Monsterus Nightmare was behind him. With red and black flaming scales, and two large wings, the wyvern-shaped dragon was a sight to behold. And it was prepared to attack.
Hiccup took off in a run, attempting to escape the large beast. Yet it followed close behind, leaving a trail of fire in it's wake.
Across the way, on top of a tower, was Hiccup's father and chief of their village- Stoick the Vast. As he saw the commotion, he ran down from the tower and fended off the dragon. And after a short battle, he succeeded.
As Stoick turned towords Hiccup and the destruction left behind by the dragon, he was very disappointed. Hiccup was told to return to the house. But by the time hiccup returned home, he already had a few mischievous plans for tomorrow.
He was going to go after after the NightFury.
Pov : Yavetal
As the hatchling opened his eyes, he adjusted to the lighting in the cave. Sitting up, he collected his thoughts. 'Hmm, what was I doing? Yesterday I learned about humans...' "Oh! I wanted to explore!".
Sitting up, the black dragon quickly finished his meal from the previous day and stretched. 'Im curious about what's on the other side of that cave! Could it be more fish? Another li-.. libr-..... Liberry?'
As if to answer his question, a monotone voice spoke " A Library". 'yes! A library, thanks friend!' The hatchling started padding twords the main room with as much speed as possible (without tripping).
Before the dragonet entered the dark tunnel, he stopped. "Friend?" The entity responded a few seconds later "yes? How many I assist you?". The dragon poised an interesting question- " what if... there IS a dragon at the end of the cave? What should I do? I don't know how to meet other dragons!"
As the hatchling rambled on with anxiety, the voice processed the question and soon answered logically. " If there was a dragon, it would most likely be hostile. Be cautious."
As the hatchling considered this, he started walking forward. " But what if it's a nice dragon, what if it's one of my parents!"
Excited, the black dragon sped up. Eager to meet any potential family. Meanwhile the systematic voice responded "apologies, but that is not possible" as the hatchling neared the end of the tunnel he sped up. "Why not?"
"Because you are the last of your species"
Confused, the hatchling slowed to a stop right before entering the cave. "What does that mean-" before he could continue he saw something that made him stop almost immediately. Only a few paces ahead was a large black mass.
A Dragon lay still in the middle of the cave, seemingly dead. As Yavetal slowly padded closer he realized the dragon was female, and looked a lot like him.
It seemed like an adult, but not yet full grown. It had a black-grey coloration, with a black body and grey markings. The female had large leathery wings drooped to its sides. The wings each had large blades attached to the bone on the front that protruded slightly further than the wings themselves. The spines on its back were long sharp blades covered in blood. It's claws were bent as if to attack, and parts of its wings and tail were ripped up.
As Yavetal witnessed this, the voice spoke calmly. "This dragon appears deceased, it poses no harm and appears to have died in battle." processing the scene, The hatchling started thinking 'who was this dragon? Was she... My mom?' He walked up to the lifeless body, as he got closer he noticed a marking on the dragoness's forehead having been carved into the flesh. 'Huh? What's that mean?'
The entity responded accordingly "It looks like a symbol used to identify a group. But I don't know what specific group. Seeing that the wound was not self-inflicted, all that can be assumed is that this group is potentially dangerous."
"Huh?!" Startled, the black dragon backed away from the corpse. 'who and what would do such a thing? Are some people really that mean..?' the dragon soon sorted out his thoughts, and came to a conclusion. "I'll read about markings more in the library later, but first..."
Turning towards his mother's lifeless body, he asked the entity how to handle the situation. 'what should I do? Do you know what I should do friend?'
"Bury her, many species including humans and dragons bury the dead as to honor them in the afterlife. Some believe they can still hear words even after death."
'bury?? As in dig a hole and put her in it? I'll try..' And soon the hatchling got to work, digging a large hole at the edge of the large cave. By the time it was dark in the outside world, Yavetal had finished his digging and was exhausted. Yet, he still had to move the body.
Following the instructions of the entity, he used all of his strength in an attempt to move the heavy mound of black and grey scales. And although it took nearly and hour of effort, the dragoness's body was safely buried.
As the sad Yavetal looked at the grave of his only known family, he made a promise. "..I will be stronger... so that I can help.. in the fight.. against..." *Slump*.
