Chapter 65 Preparation for the Second Round.

Huge amount of smoke slowly dispersing after the energy beam had been shot at that place where a huge orange barrier can be seen had appeared in front of the Reisende. The barrier has the shape of a pentagon where it had blocked the full brunt of the energy beam from the attack of the leader of the Catia Federation.

"Wha-What had happened here? How they could block that attack?" Asked the leader while being shocked with current situation.

"They had used a barrier to block that energy beam. I don't think that I could see someone blocking our attack." Commented the Orsonion.

"No worry, we could defeat them if we attack them continuously. I don't think they could block that many of attacks." The leader said that while ordering his subordinates to launch the next energy beam.

~At the Reisende.

At the screen of the Reisende, everyone on the bridge could see a barrier had blocked the damage from the attack of Catia's leader.

"Fuuhhh...I'm very lucky that I had deployed our defense mechanism fast enough before that beam had hit us." Kanda said that while wiping his non-existent sweat on his forehead.

"That's right. Captain. When you had installed this defense mechanism? I had read from the manual of Reisende beforehand where this ship had not equipped with this type of defense." Asked Melwin. while being curious with the barrier.

"I had asked Antonia and Ichika for this barrier as I had thought that the defense of Reisende is not quite enough." Replied Kanda.

"That's right. At first, when Kanda-niisan had asked me about this, I also had questioned him about this thing. And now, I finally know why he had requested this as this barrier could block that huge beam." Antonia said that to support Kanda's words.

"Anyway, Ichijou-san, I don't think that my talisman could handle that much of damage again and again. We need to move away from this place or we initiate the attack on that leader." Ichika gave her opinion.

Kanda thinks for a moment before nods his head and said: "Just like what Ichika had mentioned, it's either we retreat or we attack and I could see from the face of everyone here, we need to save all of the innocent people in this people from that leader's stupidity." He looks at Chaika and continues: "How about Kuune and Eris? Are they already going to the Mothership?"

"Yes, Captain. Before that beam had hit us, they had already went to the Mothership with the Squadron Two of our air forces." Replied Chaika.

"Good. I want you to inform Kuune that she need to persuade this planet's resident that they need to evacuate from this planet immediately. I think that the leader of this planet will make drastic action on Jens or the both of us." Informed Kanda at Chaika about his next order.

"What if the people of this planet don't want to evacuate, Kanda-niisan? " Asked Antonia.

"Haha, don't worry about that, Antonia-chan." Kanda laughed a bit as he said that before he looks at the figure of Jens at another screen and said: "So, Jens. Are you don't want to initiate your next plan? I don't think that your bombardment is all tbe plan for your revenge on this planet as I know how deep your hatred on the Catia Federation."

"Hahahaha, I know that you're interesting, Ichijou. That's right, my bombing plan just the start of my revenge. Now, I will make my next move." Jens said that before she had entered some commands on her terminal.

After had finished that, she said to Kanda: "Hey, Ichijou.If you want to be a good Samaritan by helping the people of this planet, you need to do it fast as my next plan of revenge may include all of those people here whether they're innocent or not."

Kanda looks at her with surprised expression before he say: "Yo, Jens, I don't think that you will care about the people of this planet."

"Hmph...you think I really care about them." Jens scoffed at him before she continues: "I just don't want to be just like them when they had attacked our planet's population mercilessly. Anyway, those spaceships had recharged their energy beam again and I think that this attack will more powerful than before."

Hearing Jens's words, Kanda looking at the spaceships in front of him on the screen and just like what had Jens said, those spaceships had charged their beam again and ready for their attack.

A moment later, another round of energy beam had been released at the Reisende but with more intensity.

*BAAAMMM*BZZZZTTTTT*

The energy beam had hit the barrier again but this time, the force inside the beam had been barely blocked by the barrier.

Seeing the state of the barrier, he commands: "Change our barrier shape now...from Mode 1 into Mode 2..."

"Yes, Captain." One of the bridge's crew said that and input some command on her terminal before the barrier starts to change its shape.

At first, the barrier had been set up into a flat barrier with pentagon shape which is Mode 1. In Mode 2, the flat barrier had changed into a slanted barrier but still with its pentagon shape.

(A/N: The closest description that I could think is Japanese Paper Umbrella, where when its fully opened, the umbrella will be become flat on its head. So, the slanted barrier looks like when the umbrella is half-closed.)

The beam had diverted into different directions after the barrier had changed into Mode 2. The surrounding buildings had been destroyed by that energy beam except for the buildings behind the Reisende.

"IMPOSSIBLE!!! Why they could block my attack again though I had increased its attack?" Shouted the leader at first before he scratching his hair feeling frustrated with his attack had been blocked by his opponent.

"Rather than blocking that beam, I can see that they had diverted the attack to other locations so it could reduce the damage from it. What a clever idea from them!" Explained the Orsonion before praised the people at the Reisende.

~At the Reisende.

"Captain, our barrier had been damaged by 40% from that attack. Fortunately, we had diverted that attack so our barrier still can be use by us again." Reported one of the bridge's crew on the status of their barrier.

"Alright, thank you for that report." Replied Kanda short.

"Captain, a communication signal had been sent to us, it's from the Mothership. Captain Kuunes said that she had succeeded to take control that spaceship again." Informed Chaika at Kanda.

"That's good, Chaika. Inform her to retrieve our team on the rescue mission and the one that had separated from the assault teams. Next, I want her to persuade her people to escape from this planet immediately. Jens had said that her next plan might involve all the people at the Catia Federation." Instructed Kanda at Chaika.

"Alright, Captain." Replied Chaika before she sending his order to the Mothership.

A moment later, communication attempt from the Mothership had been sent to the Reisende which Kanda had accepted that attempt. The face of Kuune had appeared on one of the screens at the Reisende where she had face full of smile.

"Hi, Ichijou-kun or I should call, Captain Ichijou Kanda." Greeted Kuune at Kanda.

"Hahaha, just call me, Ichijou-kun, just like the usual, Captain Kuune. You and I had the same rank and we also had known long enough so I don't need you to call me formally like that." Replied Kanda as he had laughed at first.

"Fufufu, you're still the same as before, Ichijou-kun, though you had commanded your own spaceship." Kuune said that while she closes her mouth using her hand as she laughing. She continues: "Anyway, I need to congratulate you as you had became a Captain, Ichijou-kun. As what you had instructed, I will retrieve the rescue team and assault team that had been left on the other side of your current location. I also will try my best to persuade the residents of my planet to evacuate. However, I'm not very confident to convince them to evacuate, Ichijou-kun."

"Don't worry, Captain Kuune. Jens will do something about that." Replied Kanda.

"What do you mean by that, Ichijou-kun?" Asked Kuune at him.

Before Kanda could reply, Chaika suddenly said: "Captain, we had received an information from one of our forces at another location which they had said the scene of our battle had been broadcasted to the whole planet. They also had mentioned that the conversation between Jens and the leader of Catia Federation at the conference had been exposed to the public. The people on this planet now finally know the truth about the fall of Dogisia Federation because of their own leader."

"...That's why Jens said that don't worry about this." Kanda said that after thinking for awhile. Kanda looks at Kuune and said seriously: "Captain Kuune, you could use this information to assist in your part. I hope that you could do this mission with smoothly and if there are any problems, please tell me immediately."

Kuune also had serious looks on her face before she say: "Yes, Captain Ichijou, I also hope that your mission will go perfectly." The connection with the the Mothership had been terminated after that.

Kanda looks at his people before say: "Deploy our Squadron One, Three and Four to the battlefield immediately. I want our air forces to disrupt any forces that coming from the Catia's side as the Reisende changes into battle formation."

"Yes, Captain." Replied one of the operators at the Reisende.

"Squadron One, Squadron Three, Squadron Four...Ready yourself to be deployed...Hatch has been opened...Ready for take off." One of the bridge's crews said that before three squadrons consists of F-22 Raptor, F-16, and Sukhoi Su-35 had flew away from both of runways inside the Reisende.

After Kanda's air forces had been deployed, the Reisende also had changed on its inside, where some of the unimportant rooms inside the ship had been set to minimal operation as all the Reisende's processing power had been put into its battle mode to achieve optimum state during the fight.

After the Reisende had completed its changes, Kanda looks at Melwin and say: "How about the status of our ship's armament, Melwin?"

"Due to the all unused power in unimportant rooms had been gathered for the current mode, all of our armament had been worked at 150% of its normal operations." Replied Melwin.

"That's good. How about the production of our talisman, Ichika? Especially 'that' talisman as I already had used 5 from 10 of that talisman for our barrier." Asked Kanda as he looks at Ichika as she standing behind his seat.

"The production of the health, stamina, and protection talisman had been produced smoothly where currently there are about 500 of each type of those three talisman had been produced. For the Advanced Protection talisman, I only could produce about 30 of that type of talisman for now. The ingredients to make that talisman also not enough to continue its production where the other 3 talisman, we could produce another 200 for each type of talisman according to the current remaining ingredients." Replied Ichika about her talisman's production.

"Hmm...is our armament enough for our fight later?" Asked Kanda to himself as he murmur about that.

Melwin had heard his whisper and say: "Don't worry, Captain. If we are carefully planning our attack, our current forces and armament are enough for the fight. Just believe on your subordinates, Captain, as they will not waste their lives easily at their opponent."

"Hmm, that's right, Melwin. Thank you for reminding me that I'm not fight by myself as I have my own subordinates to fight on my behalf. Therefore, I will give my full trust on them during this fight." Kanda said that while some burdens had been released from his shoulder.

~Outside the Reisende, at the space between Reisende and the leader of the Catia Federation.

Kanda's three aircraft squadrons had positioned themselves about 100 metres away at the front side of Reisende while another two aircraft squadrons had been deployed and had been stationed 100 metres away behind the Reisende.

On the Catia Federation's side, another 200 spacecrafts had been deployed for the reinforcement where the energy beam from those two spaceships had been recharged to 75% before that beam will be used again.
