Chapter 54 Hijacked, New Captain

Kanda leaning his back at the wall as he sits in Eris's former room before she had slept with him. On his face, there are many bruises where it's not because of his fight with Jens but due to being hit by Manami as she had known about his involvement for the idea of new creation where he had given to Antonia.

At the center of the room, Kuune can be seen laying down on a futon where Durel and Melwin sitting beside her. Durel can be seen working on the device where Kuune's condition can be monitored on that device.

Inside the room, there are Eris, Chaika, Aoi, Manami, Antonia, Maya, Sarah, and Claris. Others such as Kio had stay with his friends and Asami staying at her old home while being guarded with 5 battle maids before the event had occurred this evening.

"Dr. Durel, how about Captain Kuune's condition? Is there any information that you could get from her current state?" Asked Kanda to Durel.

"Her condition is stable where his vital still functioning like usual. She could be seen as someone under a deep sleep but we couldn't wake her up forcefully. If we do that, she will receive shock on her brain and causing permanent damage to her." Durel stated her analysis at him.

"How long she will in that condition?" Asked him again.

"Fortunately, she will regain her consciousness 3 days later as the thing that had been injected into her is short-lived." Replied Durel.

"Captain Kuune might be regaining her consciousness in 3 days but I don't think Jens will stay silent after she had work hard to do this thing." Kanda said that to the others.

What do you think she will do next, Kanda?" Asked Melwin at him.

He ponders for awhile before asking Melwin: "If anything had happened to your captain, what will you do, Melwin?"

"I will take over the command centre where I will act as a Sub-Captain under her absence where my order is the highest priority for them." Replied Melwin.

"What if your Captain had meet unforeseen accident where she had been recognised as someone who still alive but she couldn't give her order to the others just like her current situation." Kanda said that to her which cause Melwin to slowly realise Jens's action for today's event.

"So, Kanda...you had assumed that Jens had planned today's event so Kuune incapable to give her commands to her subordinates later as the system had detected that Kunne still alive. Therefore, it will allow her to do her next plan. Am I right?" Durel said that to him.

"That's right, Dr. Durel, when I had a meeting with her this afternoon, I could see that she still not giving up to take revenge on you or I could say to the Catia Federation." Replied Kanda to Durel.

"How she will do her revenge?" Asked Aoi curiously.

"I assume she will use our main ship to go to the Catia Federation as our ship could navigate by itself to return at our planet later to prevent the tragedy of Lawry's late master to happen again. She could use the main ship as a cover for her attack on the federation where the one who will be responsible for that is our captain." Chaika was the one who replied for Aoi's question.

The people inside the room suddenly looking at Chaika after had listened to her assumption which cause Chaika to speak: "What?!...Why you all looking at me like that?"

"Nothing, Chaika....We just having a shock after listening to your possible conclusion what Jens will do later." Replied Kanda at her.

"Haa!..I also could think that, you know. If not, I couldn't had worked as the leader of Analysis Team in the Exploration Team. How rude of you to think me like that." Chaika said that unhappily where she crosses her arms while puffing her cheek slightly.

"Hahaha, it couldn't be helped if we had thought like that, Chaika, as we only see you having fun at the house." Kanda said that while laughing.

"Hmph...don't talk with me anymore." Replied Chaika while harrumphed where she moves her face away from him.

"Well...I'm sorry about that, Chaika, I will make you my new creation for the desert later. How about it?" Persuaded Kanda to Chaika.

"I...murmur...T-Two...murmur....later." Chaika said softly.

"What is it, Chaika? I couldn't hear you." Asked Kanda as he not clearly heard her voice.

"I said I want two of those desserts later." Chaika said loudly at him.

"Alright, just leave it to me later." Kanda puts his fist on his chest as he said that.

After the bantering with Chaika had ended, Kanda said: "Anyway, our priority will prevent Jens from taking her revenge later."

"What is you plan, Kanda?" Asked Melwin.

"We need to take your ship back before Jens could arrive there. I want you to call your subordinates in that ship immediately, Melwin." Kanda gave his order.

Melwin immediately calling her subordinates but her call could not connect with the other side where there is something had blocked her signal to reach the main ship. She said her situation to Kanda where Kanda looks at Antonia and said: "Antonia-chan, where is it test product no.15? Is it you already done with its prototype?"

"I will bring it to you immediately, Kanda-niisan. For your questions, prototype for test product no.15 had been completed and all 15 test products had been created for its prototype where test product no.1 had been tested during today's event." Replied Antonia while giving her report on her product manufacture.

"Good job, Antonia-chan, I want you to bring all of them here right now." Asked Kanda after had praised her.

"Alright but how about their testing, Kanda-niisan, as those products only had done their test in the lab only." Antonia nods her head at him before she saying her worries.

"How about their results after the test inside the lab?" Asked Kanda.

"Test product no.2 until no.6 had passed 80% mark for its functionality where no. 7 until no.15 had passed 75% mark. Test product no.1 is the only product that had reached 95% for its functionality." Replied Antonia while saying the result for her creation.

"It's fair enough, just bring it here, Antonia-chan." Kanda nods his head before said to her.

"Maya, Sarah, let's go." Antonia said that to her maids before she going out from the room and goes to her house.

After Antonia goes out the room, Kanda said: "Melwin, what will happen if Jens forcefully enters your main ship?"

"Our command centre and core system room where you had visited before will initiate safety procedure where those rooms will be separate from the main ship where the rooms had been isolated using interdimensional space which prevent them from enter the room." Replied Melwin at him.

"How will you change those thing back to usual again after that?" Asked Kanda again.

"We need the verification from Captain Kuune to change it back but she couldn't do that right now as she right now had entered deep-sleep. I as her First Officer couldn't bypass her authority as long as she still alive." Melwin said that.

"Anyway, we will think about that later as we need to call your subordinates first to warn them about the possibility of Jens coming at the main ship." Kanda said that before asking Claris to prepare some drinks for them inside the room. Claris bows her head at him before going downstairs to make some drinks.

After a while, Antonia can be seen coming inside the room again where Maya and Sarah had bring four large suitcases in the both of their hands. Kanda and others still drinking from the beverages that had been prepared by Claris. Antonia orders Maya and Sarah to put those briefcases in front of her before she opening the zipper for each of those briefcases.

She takes out an object from one of the briefcases before giving it to Kanda and said: "Kanda-niisan, this is test product no.15 that you had asked for."

Kanda takes the object from her and inspect it. The object in his hand has the shape like a small remote TV controller. That object has two buttons which are red button and blue button. Kanda gives the device to Melwin and said: "Melwin, here. Try using your communication device again to call your main ship after you had pressed that blue button."

Melwin tries using her communication back after had done just like Kanda had instructed which she successfully contact her subordinates at the main ship and warns them about Jens's possibility of incoming at their main ship.

After she ended her call with them, Melwin tells him about her subordinates' preparation if Jens coming at her main ship later. As they talking and drinking the beverages that had been prepared in the room, suddenly a distress call had been sent to Melwin's communication device which she immediately picking up her device. Her face can be seen changes into worried expression as she talked in the device before the call had been ended.

"What had happened, Melwin? Is it Jens already had made her move?" Asked Kanda.

"Yes, Kanda. That call before from my subordinates where they suddenly had been ambushed by Jens and her forces after I had called them 15 minutes ago." Replied Melwin.

"How about your subordinates? Are they save?" Asked Kanda.

"They already save themselves when Jens had invaded the main ship where they had gathered themselves at the command centre and they immediately initiated the defense mechanism in the ship which cause the command centre and core system room to be separated from the ship by a thin layer of dimensional gap where there are nothing could survive it unprepared." Replied Melwin.

"What we need to do now, Kanda, as we need to save those Catians?" Asked Aoi.

"We could go to the main ship and save them but we need Kuune's authority to disarm the ship's defense mechanism. If not, we couldn't do anything for them." Replied Kand at Aoi.

"So, we have reached dead-end right now. How about your creation, Kanda? Is there anything that could help to save those Catians ?" Manami asked him.

"Well...I have a product that could solve everything..." Kanda said that slowly.

"What is it, Kanda? If that thing could save my people, I want you to use it." Melwin asked hurriedly.

"Calm down, Melwin. Before I show you that product, you need to understand that if you use this thing, you will regret it.Do you know why?" Kanda said that before asking her.

"I don't know." Replied Melwin short.

Kanda takes one of the briefcases and rummaging through it before a sphere like object had been held in his hand. The object had numerous blunt-end spike surrounded that object which looks ominous with its jet-black colour. Kanda talks to her: "You know, Melwin, this is test product no.7 and the most powerful product that had been created by Antonia from my idea." Antonia nods her head as she heard his words. He continues: "Although this product only a prototype where this product only had passed the testing with 75% marks, it could destroy any object from as small as a marble until as big as your main ship. Do you understand, Melwin? When you use this thing, you must responsible with the lives that will lost after this product had been activated."

Shocked with his explanation, she said: "Is that small thing could make such a tremendous damage?"

"Yes." Replied him short before continues: "That's why I want to save this thing for last where we have no any alternatives anymore."

When silent had enveloped inside the room, Antonia suddenly speaks: "Kanda-niisan...looks at the bell belonged to Captain Kuune."

The people inside the room looks at the object that had been mentioned by Antonia which is Kuune's bell that had been placed beside her head. The bell starts to shine in a rainbow colour where the ball slowly floating up before slowly moving towards Kanda. The bell starts to take out its ribbon where that ribbon had tied the bell at his neck before the bell had lost its shine.

Intriguing with what had happened, Melwin asked him: "Kanda, is there Captain Kuune said anything to you like "I will leave my crew in your care" or "I trust you with all my being"?"

"Hmm..." Kanda ponders for awhile before he said: "I had remembered that she said "I trust you, Ichijou. Therefore, I'm glad if you could support me later by taking my job." which is during I asked her about her assistance in our previous mission. I just accepted it without thinking as I need her assistance as soon as possible."

Melwin and all the catgirls inside the room had shocked expression on their face before their face changes into serious looks. The catgirls inside the room start to stand up before looking at Kanda where Melwin said respectfully: "As per order from our previous captain, Captain Kuune, we officially call you as our new captain, Captain Ichijou Kanda. All of us will under your order effectively from this moment." Melwin and the catgirls raises their hand and saluting at their new captain which is him.
