Chapter 24 Memory Fragment, Wake up from Slumber (Rewrite)

==Inside Kanda's inner consciousness==

Kanda opens his eyes where he can only see that he is floating around in a dark space before his body slowly moves forwards towards unknown destination.

"What is this place?" Said Kanda in his mind as he moves forwards before he says, "AL, where are we? AL? Do you hear me?"

Kanda tries to call for his system but nothing can be heard as he travels across that dark place.

As he slowly traverses forward, he can see his surrounding changes into multiple screens where he can see a scene where a woman silhouette with blurry figures but he can sure about her celestial beauty due to her aura.

"Who is she? What is this scene want to tell me about?" Said Kanda as looks at that picture.

Next, he can see that woman is talking to him or the baby that she currently holding in her arms.

"I'm sorry for doing this to you but it's important to assure your safety. I hope that you can find your own happiness later either you find precious friends or making precious memories. Moreover, we will meet again in the future which I could guarantee about that. However, you must know that your mother really love you so much and she hope that you could know your trueself by yourself in the future. Anyway, we hope your future endeavor will be smooth later on." Said the woman as Kanda looks on the scene where tears slowly coming out from his eyes.

He or the baby in her arms starts to cry as the woman puts him down in front of a house before she goes away from that place.

Due to the baby was crying, the door of the house has been opened where a woman in her forties appears and she looks down which she saw a baby had been placed in front of her door's house.

"Who's the one that leave a cute baby like this? Those ungrateful bastards, let's see if I see them later and I will hit them with my broom." Said the owner of the house angrily before she carefully picks up the baby to her arms.

"Gugugaga~" The baby's voice can be heard as the baby is looking at the woman.

The woman smiles slightly as she says, "What a poor baby you are. Don't worry, this auntie will rise you like her own child. Don't underestimate this lady in her 40s."

The baby laughs happily as he looks at the woman's action which the woman flexs her arm.

Later, the woman takes the baby inside the house where she changes the baby's clothing to prevent him from the cold.

After that woman enters the house, the previous woman comes out from her hiding place as she glances at the house for awhile which she could listened that the baby is laughing while being entertained by the house's owner.

"I hope that we can meet again, *****." Said the mysterious woman before she leave from that place.

As Kanda looks at the scene, he says, "Why I could sense that the baby is related with me?"

After he said that, the scene in front of Kanda changes to the scene when the child had reached the age of 5.

"Mother, let's go to the zoo, I want to see a tiger." Said the child as he runs in front of a woman which the child called mother.

"Wait a minute, Kanda. Don't run, mother couldn't catch up with you." Said the mother of the child named Kanda as she smiles.

"Hahaha, mother is too slow, I will take your hand with me. Go go go." Said Kanda cheerfully as he pulls her mother's hand with him.

The woman sighs but her smiles still remains before she says, "Ok ok, don't pull mother's hand too hard. Mother will follow you."

The previous interaction between a mother and her child is under the sight of the previous mysterious woman where she can be seen standing near a sakura tree where she just staring at the duo of mother and son walking towards the entrance of the zoo.

"I can see that you live happily right now, Kanda. However, I hope that you can face any hardships with that smile of yours in the future too, Kanda." Said the mysterious woman before she disappears again without attracting other's attention.

The scene ends there before its changes again when the boy had reached 16 years old.

"Hello, Mother, I have come again to meet you." Said Kanda as he coming inside a room.

"Hello, Kanda, I'm happy that you've visited me again. Although you already knew that you're not my real son but you still treat me as your own mother which I'm very grateful to that. My own children didn't even come to see me but you still spend some of your time coming here. How about your school, Kanda?" Said Kanda's adopted mother as she caress Kanda's head.

Feeling happy from her caress, Kanda says happily, "Of course, you're my precious mother after all. Furthermore, I'm very thankful for you as you raise me well for the past years. Therefore, I willing to spend some of my time with you, mother. Don't worry about my school as I already tell the teacher about this."

The same mysterious woman can be seen standing at the rooftop of the building where she is invisible to other people as she looks in the direction of Kanda where he interacts with his mother which he sometimes makes jokes and cause his mother to laugh.

The mysterious woman slowly says, "I knew that in your heart couldn't accept that your foster mother has finally reaches the end of her life, Kanda. However, I knew or even your foster mother knew that you just showing a brave front with that cheerful face in front of her. I hope that when the times has come later, you will stay calm, Kanda."

The scene continues when the boy finally reaches his 20s where he can be seen visiting a funeral where a photo of his foster mother had been placed near the coffin in front of him.

He slowly places his hand on the coffin where his foster mother's body laid imside before saying his thoughts, "Mother, thank you so much as you raised me up from baby until my age had reached 24. You know, Mother. I'm already transferred away from this town to the city where I work as a part-timer at the convenience store."

"As you had already knew, I'm still playing that game from 10 years ago where I had introduced to you before and I'm almost completed the game. I could guarantee that you will hit my head with a broom when you see that I'm still playing that game." Said Kanda before he chuckles and comtinues, "Anyway, I will live my life on to the fullest just like you've said to me before. Thank you very much and I will meet you again in heaven later, my cheerful and beloved foster mother."

He takes his hands off from the coffin before he deeply bows towards his deceased mother before he is going out from that place as he wipes his tears away with a smile.

The previous mysterious woman also presents in that funeral place where she currently wears black attire where no people inside the place can see her there.

"I'm sorry about this. I couldn't do anything to help you from this thing to happen." Said the mysterious woman as she looks at the familiar person beside her or the soul of Kanda's foster mother.

The soul of Kanda's foster mother shakes her head as she says, "Don't worry about that. Although I want to hit you with my broom as I had first met you, I know about your circumference when you had told me about the truth a year ago. It's just that I'm sad that I couldn't accompany him until he has a girlfriend.

"I'm very sorry about this." Said the mysterious woman as she bows towards Kanda's foster mother.

Kanda's foster mother just waves her hands and says, "Nah, it's fine. I can sure you that his girlfriend right now is the one he always call as waifu this or waifu that inside those game. It's embarrassing to see that he still plays that game although it's my fault first because I let him play that game when he still in school."

"Anyway, you said a year ago that I can meet him again in the future, right?" Said Kanda's foster mother as she looks seriously at the mysterious woman.

The mysterious woman nods as she says, "Of course, I can assure you about that with my whole life."

"Then, it's fine." Replied Kanda's foster mother as she smiles.

Finally, the scene changes where a figure which he can be confirmed as the mysterious woman inside the screen before. She has appeared after he had been transferred to another world where it went unnoticed by him due to his sudden transfer.

"The journey to find your true identity has started and I hope for the best for you to find it. We will see you soon in the future." Said an unknown voice inside that dark place after the screen in front of him disappeared.

When Kanda has thought that he will be trapped inside that place forever, he finally heard his familiar system's voice inside his mind.

Next, Kanda continues floating around until he can see light appears in front of him. He slowly moves towards the light and finally hears nostalgic voices as he slowly opens his eyes.

"KANDA!!!/ KANDA-NIISAN!!!/ ICHIJOU-SAN!!!" Said Eris, Antonia, and Aoi as they have worried looks on their face.

== Back to real-world before Kanda opens his eyes==

After Kanda had been shot in the chest, he quickly had been transferred to an advanced hospital under the influence of Antonia's family.

The news about Kanda's condition finally spread to Kio's house and Kuune's Mothership when Eris sent the report to them.

They shocked to the core when they had received the news where Aoi took the most as she blames herself for Kanda's condition where she thinks that if she could prevent Eris from being kidnapped, she can avoid Kanda from coming to save Eris.

She also becomes furious when she sees the one responsible for kidnapping Eris had came to the house.

Fortunately, she had been held by Manami before she had been knocked off to unconscious by Jack.

After that, Antonia also apologizes to Kanda's friends when Aoi woke up where Aoi does not give her forgiveness immediately to Antonia due to Kanda still in a coma.

Durel's assistance has been requested by Eris when Kanda had been placed at the hospital where she had tried her best to treat Kanda's but in vain as something was preventing her from helping him although she can be relieved as his body in a stable condition.

Kuune also tried to find evidence to get compensation for the accident where Chaika also shows her rare serious looks on her face where she tried to find any evidence that may help Kuune during the negotiation with the help of JACK.

After a week of visiting Kanda in the hospital, and searching for evidence, the negotiation had been placed by Kuune where she had succeeded to receive a massive amount of money and some secret technologies that government had received from Madam J although Madam J's identity still remains unknown by them.

==At the hospital under Antonia's family==

Aoi can be seen sitting beside a comatose Kanda where she gently wipes Kanda's face with a white towel.

Inside the same room, there are Kuune, Melwin, Durel, Eris, Chaika, and Antonia where for a week, Kanda had been taken care by the Melwin-Chaika pair, Aoi-Manami pair, and Eris-Antonia pair. Although Aoi is a bit reluctant to let Antonia coming near Kanda, she still allows Antonia to come as she respects Kanda's wish to make Antonia as one of his friends but she still did not forgive her yet.

The door of the ward has been opened where Manami enters the room while carrying a basket of fruits as she says, "Good Morning, Aoi. Is our sleepy-head still not wake up?"

Aoi chuckles as she says, "Good morning, Manami. Not yet, he still not wake up. Where you have been going?"

Manami raises the basket in her hands as she says, "Well, I'm just taking these fruits here from the others first as they will come later."

"Is Antonia also with them?" Asked Aoi as she continues to wipe Kanda's face.

Manami nods before she says, "Are you still angry with her, Aoi? Just forgive her already as she sincerely feels sorry about what had happened to Kanda. If Kanda saw this, he will upset, you know."

"I know but I still couldn't truly forgive her, Manami." Said Aoi to Manami.

"Anyway, eat this fruit first as I know that you still not eat anything yet." Said Manami before she gives an apple to Aoi which Aoi gives her thanks before she is eating the apple.

10 minutes later, Eris, Antonia, Chaika, and Melwin coming to Kanda's room where they are talking together inside the room but there is awkwardness in the interaction between Aoi and Antonia. However, the conversation still smoothly going around.

As they are talking, they suddenly heard some noise from Kanda's health monitor device where the device had monitored the vitality, condition, and state of Kanda's body as he in a coma.

The device had been set up by Durel as she also trying to get some data on his body during his comatose.

When the device suddenly acting up, it has cause everyone inside the room to be alerted where they quickly surround Kanda's bed and they can see that his eyelids start to quiver slightly before he slowly opens his eyes.

"KANDA!!!/ KANDA-NIISAN!!/KANDA!!!/ ICHIJOU-SAN!!!" Said everyone inside the room as they looks Kanda slowly opens his eyes.

Kanda looks at everyone's face before he weakly says, "Yo, everyone. I, Ichijou Kanda, has finally returned."

Listened to Kanda's words had caused others to hug him where he says weakly, "Gurghhh...please everyone... doesn't hug me too hard. I'm still hurt here."

The girls immediately separate from him before apologize quickly to him where he forgives them immediately.

Kanda looks at others as he smiles before he says, "So, anyone can tell me how long I have slept? and what has happened during my slept?"
