chapter 10: flying sessions for outsiders (Aden).

"When you said high ground, did you mean the rooftop," I asked as I looked at Amber who agreed as she started leading the way while we were inside the city and on the empty streets.

"This used to be a bustling street... But with so many Stormterror attacks recently, the usual crowds are nowhere to be seen," she asked as I looked around and saw empty seats which was a sign that no soul was in the area during the attacks.

"So everyone stayed inside and started hiding," I asked again as I started seeing what this was in reference to.

"Yes aden, except for the local tavern near the city wall over there, They haven't been affected, if anything, their business is better than ever so you should check it out sometime aden," Amber announced.

"hmm sounds interesting." I curiously said as I looked at the building while catching a glimpse at the window just so I could see who was inside the area before heading up the steps.

1 minute later

"Here we are everyone, the high ground." Amber announced as she smiled at us before she continued, "So, the present I want to give you two is... A wind glider!" she said as me and Aether both smiled at where this was going.

"We are getting flying lessons, this is so sweet," I responded as Aether started to nod which then led to him making a comment that sounded romantic and cringe.

Aether: want to go flying with me, Aden?

Aden: are you asking if I have a choice?

After I said that comment, I could hear Amber start to laugh as she knew that a bromance was afoot when she continued and had now picked up where she left off.

"Outriders use them to ride the wind, and the people of Mondstadt love using them too, so that is why I brought you two here so I could give it to you both abd have the two of you experience it right away!" she explained as we started to put on the wind glider and have it ready for testing.

"Oh, you're really excited about these wind gliders, huh!" Paimon asked Amber as she was impressed by all this.

"well, that's because the wind is the heart and soul of Mondstadt! *sigh* alrighty then, enough talk! Let's give it a whirl!" she asked as we both nodded and started heading to the beginning area.

Amber: hey Aden?

Aden: yes Amber?

Amber: your tablet has a clock app right?

Aden: yes Amber, Are you going to time us?

Amber: yes.

Aden: let's do this.

As I gave Amber my tablet which was unlocked I started to walk to the open area while Amber was on the clock app getting the timer ready. "It's easy to use, but you still need to pay attention to my instructions," she told the both of us as we nodded.

Once we started standing on the edge of the roof where the flying lesson would be held, I started to look down at the ground and wish i had not.

"Jesus fucking Christ that is a long fall, you sure about this," I said as I looked at Amber who nodded.

"Well, here we go." I said as both me and Aether jumped off the edge and started gliding down to the area where Amber was standing as she watched us.

And as we touched the ground safely I could hear Amber say 15 seconds, which was how long we were in the air for.

"sweet." the both of us said as I smiled at Amber, but it did not take long for my smile to turn into a look of concern and then go from a look of shock as soon as the weather changed.

"Well, I was waiting for the sky to change, wait a minute" I said as me, Amber, and Aether saw the sky change.

"The sky..." Amber said as we all looked to our right just in time to hear a noise, a noise that sounded very familiar enough to make me shit my pants.

Suddenly before I could ask what the noise was and start removing my wind glider, that is when I saw it flying into the city.

"oh SHIT." I said as I saw storm terror fly through the city and cause damage to one of the buildings as people ran and hid in a panic.

I on the other hand started to evacuate the people inside as if to make sure there were no injuries during the evac before heading out to see where Amber was.
