With the trees falling left and right, the twins could follow where the familiars were leading the Catoblepas.
"What the hell? How can they lead the Catoblepas around the falls this quick!?"
Aranea and Elenea started panting, Elenea, slowing down as she was not used to running this quick and long.
"A-Aranea!"
"Don't speak!"
Aranea knew already what her twin sister wanted to say. She found running difficult but they have no choice but to follow or else, Elenea will get left behind!
"If you speak while you run, you will get tired more!"
The twins continued to run. When they saw that the trees far from them stopped swaying, it indicated the stop of the familiars, the long neck of the Catoblepas seen from where the twins are.
"Shit! I can't imagine attacking that thing!"
When Aranea exclaimed, suddenly, a wildfire spread from where Zann and Leonel are, the eyes of the twins widening in surprise as they saw what was happening before them.
"Are you crazy!?"
They heard the Water Familiar's shout from the earphone they wore in their ear.
"Are you going to burn the whole forest down!?"
"We can't afford to lose this Catoblepas!" Zann shouted back, the Catoblepas, obviously panicking as it looked around frantically with its long neck for a way out. "If we let this loose, we may find it difficult to attack the other!"
At the same moment, Aranea and Elenea already arrived to the location where the familiars are. Zann held his sword while Leonel held his spear, the twins' jaws almost dropping on the ground as they saw how big this creature is.
"And… how are we going to do this?"
Seeing that Aranea and Elenea are already in the location, Leonel ran to them, getting Aranea's attention as he shook her hand when she caught her by the wrist.
"Elenea, stay at the side until one of us needs healing. Aranea, we have to resonate now—until Zann couldn't handle distracting the Catoblepas!"
"Oh, so now, we—"
Elenea was left behind from where she stood as Aranea was pulled by Leonel while they ran nearer towards the water. Elenea blinked her eyes a few times, everything happening too fast for her when it was also a new experience for her.
'So I just have to wait until one of them gets hurt!?'
"Shit!"
Zann jumped high from the ground as it avoided one of the Catoblepas' foot stomping the fire to extinguish it. The Fire Familiar clicked his tongue as he wrapped his blade in flames, doing a stance as it observed the movements of the beast.
"Hurry up! I could only distract and leave a few burns and hits on the Catoblepas! If his attention goes to you, then it's your fault for being too slow!"
Leonel furrowed his brows, not appreciating the tone of voice Zann was giving him.
"You think making a sharp ice arrow could be easy?! I would have to channel my mana with Aranea's and this is our first making something big together!"
"Stop complaining!" Zann grunted as he ran past the Catoblepas, distracting it as its head followed his every movement. "We die, or we kill this beast and pass the ordeals!"
Aranea's eyebrow twitched. With her two familiars shouting at each other, she couldn't focus channeling her mana to her bow and arrow that she was holding, making her stomp her feet in frustration.
"Will you guys stop attacking each other!? We just have to go through with this as best as we can! Now, shut up—or I will find it difficult to focus on channeling my powers!"
Elenea sighed, hearing the chaotic teamwork the three are having. With her only having to wait by the side, she can't help but think that her ordeal was easy—only waiting for her to cure someone who is hurt whilst watching the situation at hand.
Still, even with that thought, she felt that she is useless—only left at the side to wait for their call. It was at this moment that she also thought that maybe she could do something rather than just heal… but what?
What could her powers have in store for her as well?
With Elenea curious about her powers as she did not test the limits of her magic as well, she closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and focused on channeling her magic in her heart as she hummed to herself, thinking of the welfare of her teammates.
Every time she used her powers, she would always have the intent in her mind. If it meant curing her teammates, then she would have to think of them while she channels her magic and powers in order for it to work.
Her heart felt warm in her chest. Elenea also continued to think of Aranea, Leonel, and Zann in her head as she wanted to strengthen them—not just heal them.
Because of this, she felt a surge of power welling from within her, her eyes opening as she allowed herself to sing in a language which was also foreign to her.
"A pabf vey ncu pwr, a pabf vey ncu uiync. A qaxx syenukn ncu syukaeop xavu. Ncap tuxehum qeyxm. A iz ncu xafacn, A pabf vey cuixabf ne yuhahu ncap qeyxm. A evvuy reo zd xavu, A evvuy reo zd heaku: vey uhuyubu'p cesu ibm vonoyu."
When they heard Elenea's voice in an unheard and unfamiliar language, the three of them couldn't help but look at her as she continued to hum and sing in a seemingly ancient language.
When she opened her eyes, Elenea's whole body started to glow. A stream of white light came from her chest the moment she extended both of her hands, the light connecting to the three of them as it surrounded their bodies.
The three of them started to feel their magic swell through their veins, making everything seem lighter. It was as if the power within them started to calm down, making it easier for them to control their powers. At the same time, it felt that they weren't getting tired at all!
"Everyone," Elenea called their attention, everyone's eyes on her as the light from her continued to shine around them. "I hope with this, it would be easier for the three of you to focus and channel your powers as you fight!"
The language used here is the same language I used for my story, The Arcane Book. I will post more about the language soon, but that would have to wait so I won’t spoil you about the story. ;) Stay tuned~!
