Chara

"Alice, have you turned yet?" Silas asked.

She gets up from the ground beaming a large grin, the good Doctor places the tray down.

"Not yet, but do you really think I wouldn't be even if I couldn't?" Alice responded.

"I suppose if you turned the sword you would have been swiped by now…"

Alice hops up running up the stairs grabbing me by the hand, I let go of her hand turning towards Doctor Silas instead of running.

"Silas!" I shouted.

He stops chanting to turn to face me, everyone can hear my stomach growl suddenly.

"You two need to come with me."

"Wait, please bring the food!" I plead hungrily.

We stroll back to the room where I was being held when Doctor Silas hands me the tray of food. I have never been so happy about food before in my whole life that I dig in.

"You really weren't joking…" Silas says watching me scarf down the food given to me.

"Christian slow down please!" Alice laughs.

"Alice, you should have just told me it was you instead you made me use my ability." He scolded.

"You would get in trouble so I decided to play it cool," Alice admits.

"You might have been killed, you are such an idiot."

I finish my food, setting the empty tray down letting out a sigh of relief, they both stare at me.

"Are you full or do you need me to get another tray for you?" Silas asked.

"I am okay for now actually," I replied blushing nervously.

"It's really okay you know, when you came in you were on IV for a day I think"

I pause a moment thinking to myself, it never hit me. I may have been out for a couple of days.

"How long was I out?" I yelled.

"Only a few days, you shouldn't worry," Silas replied.

"Christian, you need to get out of here soon," Alice warned.

"What's going on?" I questioned.

Alice touches the bandage on my eye before ripping it off, I flinch holding my eye.

"You know if Everly knew...she would kill me right?" Silas says.

Pulling the disk that is stuck under my eyelid out, tossing it to the ground I sit there in growing concern with the conversations between Silas and Alice.

"You are not under control of your emotions to use the golden gaze." Alice clarifies.

"What about Chara? I thought you said she was here?" I asked Silas.

"I don't hold authority over that room Christian." Doctor Silas explained.

"Our main objective was to keep you safe Christian…" Alice stated.

"We can't just leave Chara!" I said wanting to argue.

"We can and are, Christian since this isn't what we came for!" Alice replied.

"I had become friends with her in just a day, I am not going to let her die or whatever!" I shout.

Alice grabs my arm, I stand there silently wishing it hadn't been me tossed by Dominique.

"Wait what happened to Dominique?" I asked.

"What do you mean?" Alice questioned.

"He pushed me, remember?" I answered confused.

"No...you were too close to the edge playing and fell," Alice replied.

"You are clearly mistaken, Alice!" I yelled.

Something felt wrong that very second, Alice was right there when I was pushed by Dominique.

"Alice, you really think I fell?"

She nodded, I thought for a moment why Chara would be here then. A bad feeling rises from the pit of my stomach.

It hit me, I decided to sprint out of the room to find that Doctor Silas had come after me walking down the long hallway trying his best to catch up to me.

"Christian you really aren't even allowed out!" He yelled.

Ignoring him I concentrated on my golden gaze to guide me, each door I passed nothing happened till I neared the end of the hall where it started to ache.

Two men were stationed outside the door, I still tried to pry the door open disregarding their presence. I stare down as one holds a taser out at me.

"I am going in here!" I exclaimed fearlessly.

"Doctor Silas, you let him out?" One of the perched men asked.

"No! He just got done eating. I am sorry he is bothering you!" Doctor Silas replied.

"His other eye is glowing! So 'Igor' really is here!" The other guard said getting up intimidated by me being there.

Knocking Silas away I pull the door open quickly, I am tased falling to the ground immediately by the other two guards at the same time.

A woman comes out of the room dressed in a full black suit and long skirt, her hair blonde and in a messy bun. I could see her blue eyes burn with hatred glimmering with a passion.

Holding a gun to my face, she aims straight for the 'Golden Gaze' with a furious face, she realized quickly that she didn't pull the slide back preparing to do so.

"You aren't allowed to come in here slave of a vampire!" She said gruffly.

"Chara…" I silently study the woman in front of me.

"You tell the fungus, Ms. Demi!" One of the guards shouted.

I could slightly see Chara from the open door sleeping in the same hospital clothing as me.

Doctor Silas helps me get back from the ground, I watch the patrol's faces as they look at me.

A smile grows on my face, I let out a shriek of laughter suddenly; their stares of shock from my unexpected outburst set them on edge.

I could feel their fear secrete off each of the terrified men like a mist of haze.

Becoming aware I had done such a thing made me gradually step back.

It felt almost as though I was an inhumane creature to them, Silas was doing his best to talk them out of giving me a harsh punishment.

Turning away I decided to walk the other way going back to the other room, I could see in the corner of my eye that Silas is unhappy with me.

His anxious gestures made my other eye throb, Doctor Silas bumps into me as I stand there.

"Christian, you can't keep doing this!" Silas chides me.

"Haha...hahaha…" I laugh. "Haha...ha…"

Holding my eye, I felt almost like I had taken strong medicine causing me to almost wobble dizzily on my feet; I was almost sure I wasn't able to walk.

"Christian?" I heard Silas cry out to me.

"I am fine...I am just lightheaded." I replied, "Haha.."

For some reason I couldn't stop laughing all the back, Silas takes my arm placing it around his shoulder getting me to slowly stroll back to the room.

Alice gets up caressing my face gently, Doctor Silas settles me on the bed. I could feel the cold tiles pressed against my bare feet.

"Christian...we got to get you out of here before you do something to regret…" Alice comments.

"Alice, how do you plan to even get him out?" Silas questioned.

"I am not leaving without Chara haha...hahaha…" I started to laugh.

Silas comes over placing the blankets around my shoulders, the inflicted eye doesn't stop pulsating; I felt like it was trying to tell me something.

"You are going to hurt yourself Christian…" Doctor Silas assures me.

"Let me call Alex, Doctor Silas," Alice says, jumping off the other seat to run outside with her phone in her hands.

Blood starts to run down my nose the longer I sit there in silence, I simply let it drip onto the floor.

"Christian, you should really rest." Doctor Silas tells me handing his handkerchief.

I held it several moments before I wiped my nose watching the puddle of blood catch ripples, it felt hypnotizing in that brief period.

Alice was staring directly into my eyes, I felt a deeper sense of urgency in her passing glance coming back in to see me dazed.

"Alex will be here tomorrow to pick Christian up, I will stay here as payment…" Alice points out.

"We should go to Everly, she might allow it without a fight," Silas replies.

"You said my name, Doctor Silas?" A voice chimes.

"Oh, Ms. Everly!" Silas shouts.

"You let him go, I see," Everly says annoyed.

She notices the blood at my feet and the bloodied hankie awkwardly between my fingers.

"It's a nosebleed Everly!" Alice yelled.

Everly turned to find Alice behind her, she angrily grabbed for her hair, but Alice evades her easily.

"Did you not think I would not come you dumb bitch?" Alice declared.

"And why would I want to barter with you?" Everly responded.

"I am willing to give you Dusksong for Christian's safety!" Alice stated.
