Ashley gasped as she roamed her gaze around the spacious room. She was blinded by the things inside this huge chamber. It was a heap of fortune!
Priceless items like golden statues, gems and chests packed with treasure were neatly arranged inside the hall. No to mention, the treasury was huge. She was dazzled by how the priceless items sparkled under the lights. It was literally a treasure trove.
The palace was filthy rich! No, Ramier was filthy rich! This was the Royal family's! It meant that everything here was owned by none other than Ramier himself. He still seemed indifferent to all of this though.
If someone computed the total value of the items, it would obviously be an astronomical amount. The amount was enough to feed an entire nation for years. The hall was so vast and there were so many shelves, you could get lost. Maybe if Ashley inspected the items one by one, it would take her months to finish.
She looked at Ramier with disbelief. She found the place unbelievable. He only watched her as she looked around with awe. He couldn't blame her though if other people entered this place they would have the same reaction. However, there will be a lot more when they go deeper inside. Treasures in this chamber would pale in comparison when compared to this in the deeper chambers.
This was only the first chamber. It contained various items that hold little value to the royal family. They were only put here because even though they hold little importance, they were still considered priceless. He wouldn't even mind if someone took a piece of the items. He surely wouldn't notice. Of course.. that is if someone managed to get through those double doors alive then he wouldn't mind. Getting out would be another problem. He could only bid good luck to those who would attempt to. However, he didn't want to break his promise. He wouldn't allow any thief to take even one single step in this place. He would die by his hands before he could do that.
They continued to walk further and entered another hall. This time it was smaller compared to the previous hall they entered.
These items also lessened in number. On the tables were crowns and other jewelry covered with a glass case. There were also ancient books that were arranged in golden shelves.
The amount of the items here, though fewer, actually wasn't less than the total value of the items on the previous. These were even more expensive if you look at it.
"This is the second chamber of the treasury. There are still some chambers that we have to pass in order to get to the museum." he said informing her. She just nodded in response to his explanation.
She didn't know what to say. She was overwhelmed by seeing this many treasures all her life. She couldn't even dare to roam her gaze elsewhere anymore. She was afraid to be dazzled by the shimmer of the jewels. She would become insane computing the value of all these items in her mind.
She felt like she was in a dream. She never imagined that a place such as this existed. Though she anticipated this, she couldn't help but still be amazed. Ramier could literally build a large swimming pool of gold and jewels if he wanted to. This place was insane.
They continued to walk and they reached another chamber. The treasury was really vast. Actually, the underground treasury was as wide as the Palace above it.
In fact, the treasury was divided into five sections. The areas got smaller as you went deeper inside. The first section was the widest since it stored the most number of items. The second one was a bit smaller compared to the first one but nonetheless, it was still vast. The last section was the Royal Museum. It was the smallest hall but was still considered very spacious.
After minutes of walking and exploring down the halls, they were finally in front of the Museum's huge door.
This time it looked like a vault door than an actual door. The door was made out of thick steel. It would at least take four strong people to push the huge door. She could only gulp at the sight of it. They were the only people here. Will they be able to push open those doors by themselves?
She wanted to ask Ramier if he needed help with opening the door but it appears that it wasn't necessary. He effortlessly pushed the door with his left hand and entered. He made it look so easy like he was pushing a weightless door. She could only tilt her head absentmindedly. She was currently at loss. How could he…???
She suddenly doubted if the door was really legit. Maybe, it was fake? Perhaps they made it like that, so that it looked intimidating and scared the thieves away. She narrowed her eyes. Her hands were itching to touch the big door which was thicker than those double doors. The width was tripled. Yet, he pushed it like he was just pushing windows.
'Well, I wouldn't know if don't try. Right?'
Ramier already entered the museum. Ashley looked at his back with reluctance. He wasn't looking, right? She bit her lips and took a step back to the vault like door. With all her might, pushed the parted door with her small hands.
*Crack
'F*ck!'
Her hands grew numb. She felt like her arms were fractured. She looked at the door with her mouth agape. It was hard as stone. No, she just literally pushed a mountain. A mountain! It didn't even budge! Even just a little! She couldn't believe it. Were her eyes tricking her a moment ago? Did he actually have a hard time pushing that thing?
She stopped herself from shouting in pain. She gritted her teeth so hard, they were probably cracked by now. She was afraid that he would look her way. It was pathetic!
Ramier turned around to face her when he noticed that she stopped following him. He was curious as to what made her cease her steps. He saw her holding her arms and clenching her jaw. He raised his brows when he noticed that she was obviously in pain.
'What did she do now?'
