A World of Reincarnators

Mizuki was an otherworldly beauty in her first world. Born as an albino, having the best grades in class while taking interest in technological advancement and music in her free time. Her parents who had died a year after her birth left her a large inheritance. Her aunt has tried to kill her for her money ever since it was decided that all the inheritance would go to her. 'Human greed is a vile thing.' Mizuki was not stupid by any means. The moment she realized her life was being targeted she left to live alone. The inheritance would let her live nicely until the age of 40 at the least but she was not content with that and started to do work in the stock market. Mizuki was now living in a moderately sized apartment near her school. She had multiple bodyguards that were receiving quite the large salary so she was not afraid of losing her life before even getting married.... But.. "Human greed really is a vile thing. Is it not?" Now in another world where power decides everything human greed is not the biggest problem she will face. But bare in mind reader. Reincarnation is not that uncommon. (art ain't mine)

A free day

Walking inside the inn and greeting the owner as usual, Mizuki entered her room and took a seat on her bed.

'...'

Standing up from her bed just in case, she went to replace her antigravity zone and started floating there in a relaxed position.

'Wait a second. I forgot to state the requirements.'

"... *sigghhh*."

'Whatever. I can just state who gets in tomorrow and who doesn't. I'm sure more than 9 people will show up. Probably.'

Taking out her pirate clothes from inside the back of her shirt, where she had hidden them, she placed them in her backpack that she has been using to travel since back when she left the bandit hideout.

'I really need a method of carrying things around without using a bag.'

'I doubt I can make some space storage spell as I am now. Probably in the future, but the future is a long ways away.'

'I have all the time in the world so I can try to start finding a way anytime. But I did tell myself that I'd work on my music and yet I haven't played a single song. But first..'

Making up her mind to spend the rest of her free time today to practice violin, Mizuki first of all moved away from her gravity spell and took a walk outside the inn and towards the closest clothing shop.

'My current clothes are a little too unique for just walking around the streets. Even now I can feel a lot of eyes on me. I better get some more common clothes from a shop if I ever want to keep a low profile and not spam spells.'

Entering the shop named 'Southern Star', Mizuki took a look around and picked out clothes that she thought would look good.

A few employees and other customers tried to start a conversation and help her out but Mizuki flat out rejected them saying 'I'm here to spend my money on clothes not to spend my time on you.'.

She used the same line on every person that talked to her, exept the cashier of course.

Taking her bag of clothes home and laying it down next to her gravity spell that she hadn't cancelled, she seemed to have remembered being in a slightly similar situation of going to a shop without a good storage spell.

Facepalming a lot harder than usual, Mizuki placed the backpack in her room inside her stomach storage.

'My memory is god like and yet short-term huh.'

Placing all but one newly bought sets of clothes in her storage as well she made sure noone was glancing through the window, or key hole or anywhere else.

She then made a sphere of shadow around herself and changed her clothes, placing the set she wore till now in storage, she removed the shadow spell and summoned a mirror of ice.

Glancing back was a short girl with silver white hair, beautiful eyes and three tails poking out from below her hoodie. She was wearing a grey colored, short-sleeved, zip-up hoodie, white shoes, black stockings, a short skirt and a grey beanie. If you peek very closely you could see purple and black striped underwear. But that would be illegal.

Placing her hands in the pockets of the hoodie, she pulled out a black cloth mask that differed from the one she wore when commiting crime and placed it over her face.

Leaning back and forth, Mizuki was rating her current set. Pulling out a lock of silver hair from underneath her beanie and pushing it behind her ear, she was pleased with her current look exept for...

'I can hide my horns by 'retracting' them with a certain mana flow but it seems like I can't do the same with my tails. I was trying to ignore them up till now but they are pretty troublesome.'

'While walking around town I have usually just hidden them beneath my clothes while my horns where out. It would be very strange to see a sheepkin with cat tails after all but now it looks like I have to try imitating a catgirl when going under cover.'

"This might be a problem, nya~."

Blushing at herself from behind the mask she swore to herself to never try doing that again unless completely necessary.

Trying to hide har tails under her hoodie to the best of her ability, Mizuki made a violin with [Create] and started thinking of what songs to play. Thinking of the song that made her want to become a pirate in this life, Mizuki was pondering on where to practice.

'An option is to just use sound magic so that no one will bother me or report loud sound coming from my inn room but I'm not sure if anyone has something to trace specific elements or a similar ability to Merg.'

'It might cause trouble and it might just not. But to be safe I'd rather not use it for now.'

'Playing it here will undoubtedly cause an annoying situation if someone recognizes the song or storms into my room to try and make me an idol or something. Still, this is highly unlikely but.. Going to the forest is a no go. Problem one is leaving through the gate and problem two is hunting adventurers. I don't know the security of the town so I might just not be able to use space element to escape.'

'Besides, I really don't want my regular look to have another nickname so using my ID is a no.'

'Going with these looks should be fine. Silver hair is surely uncommon but not unique to me alone.'

'Now.. Think. Where is a place where no major situations are bound to happen..'

'Oh. I got it. An orphanage.'

'Almost no chance for anyone strong to live there and only playing a little music to the kids there will keep the supervisors of the kids off my back. And with the new look those stalkers that have been following me will have no idea who I am.'

'The plan is set I guess. Honestly a lot of trouble to just play some music without standing out. But just to keep the trouble another step away.'

Mizuki constructed a moon element spell to see the outline of this aura that those people at the auction were talking about.

Having a look at herself she saw a, well. An aura of multiple colors surrounding her which constantly fluctuated.

"Wow." She unconsciously muttered.

'Does every color represent one of my elements? If so why did that woman only think I had three? Maybe their way of measuring aura is a lot less efficient than my moon element spell?'

Taking this into account, Mizuki was now trying to contain her aura.

'If normal people can only measure aura by it's size and density and not the color then I can just try to shrink it to make myself seem weaker than I actually am.'

As Mizuki thought this she tried to suck in all the 'aura' around her.

Seeing that her aura had reduced in size by a quarter and was now only a few inches away from touching her skin, she now tried to think of her aura as leaking mana and simply thought of closing a leaking tap.

Although this was explained in an easy to understand matter, theorizing and actually putting this into practice were two completely different things.

After about 40 or so minutes, Mizuki opened her eyes and saw her aura was reduced down to a little more than a quarter of it's original size. The density and color stayed the same.

Guessing that her current aura was similar to that of tier 2 she then started following the instructions of one of the books that she had read at the library by coincidence.

These instructions were in an old book from a lost guild that explained how to gain certain basic skills like swordsmanship and cooking.

What Mizuki was doing was gaining the skill [Conceal] that could counteract the effects of the rare skill [Inspect].

Well [Inspect] wasn't technically a rare skill, but the methid to obtain it was very difficult for most people.

Only rich merchants and nobles had a chance to learn it and this chance was only accounted on your intelligence.

Gaining the skill [Conceal] was relatively easy for people with a 'weak presence', which Mizuki had just before found out stood for aura. The stronger your aura, the harder it is to conceal it.

The exact explanation for the method of obtaining it is long and has multiple small details that also need to be completed so to put it in simple terms, 'Conceal your aura by more than 60% and remain undetected for 1 hour.'.

Getting this skill early on is easy considering you have either a good teacher or skill.

'Remaining undetected for an hour should be easy. I've been in my room for about 40 minutes and the time that I had exceeded 60% was about 12 minutes ago so only about 48 or so minutes to go. My question is how did they get this to be so accurate.'

After more than half an hour of fiddling around with the gun prototype that she still was not that confident in using in battle, Mizuki received a notification.

She smiled and left the inn through the back exit using her space element and walked towards where she guessed an orphanage would be.

[Conceal - A skill gained from supressing your presence from others for a certain amount of time. Allows the editing of information shown to users of the skill [Identify] and passively assists in concealing presence, conduct, emotion and other similar traits by 10%.]
