night in the woods

Judes parents have always been a fan of travelling during the holidays but this time was different.

They had gone camping.

Jude had sighed when they had reached the forest. The forest was deep and hollow, almost felt dead like everything that ever lived there had just taken a trip elsewhere.

Jude looked up at the night sky.

*I can't believe I signed up for this shit*.

'Jude come on set up your tent quick quick'. Said Judes mom gesturing to him to hurry up.

Meanwhile Judes dad was setting up him and his wife's tent whilst she prepared whatever they had brought for dinner.

Judes parents were both doctors by trade but they both loved the idea of exploration and travel. Something the Jude himself never understood.

Jude has been travelling with his parents for most of his life, but he was never a fan of it at all. He told himself he only went to satisfy his parents hobby as he was the only child they had.

Jude was loved dearly by his parents, and pretty much spoiled him with whatever he wanted. That being said he only asked for video games and upgraded parts for his computer which by the way is 100 times better than most computer gamers in the city.

Jude had pinned down the last part of the tent and walked over to the fire. Not like he was expecting a 5 star meal but anything would do for him right now.

'Don't worry son i packed you a burger for the first night here'

Jude smirked and accepted the burger from his dad. Maybe this won't be as bad as i thought heh

'Don't get used to it boy tomorrow we are having these'

Jude saw what he thought as worms and dead flies; he wasn't entirely convinced that was a safe thing to eat.

He turned away in disgust and even struggled to take a bite from his burger.

' i think i'll save this burger for tomorrow instead then'

He shoved the burger back into the plastic bag and threw it into the tent.

'Hoho we are definitely off to bed, that was delicious'

Judes mother agreed with her husband and yawned whilst nodding to him.

'Sure it was' jude smirked

'Aren't you gonna get some rest? It took us a while to get here, I was thinking you might be exhausted.' judes dad said

'Dad i'm okay i'm gonna sit here for a bit before i head in my tent'

His father nodded and followed his wife into the tent.

Jude waited for his dad to start snoring before he pulled out his phone. Jude made sure his phone had full charge and even brought a power bank to keep his battery levels in check.

He exhaled in relief and clicked on a mobile rpg game and tapped and pressed away fully immersed.

It had been 2 hours of straight gameplay, but for Jude it obviously didn't feel like it. If he was to stop playing it would have felt like 20 minutes.

A broken stick was heard.

Jude stopped and thought maybe his ears were just playing tricks on him , so he carried on playing. However he heard another but it seemed to have gathered closer to his area.

Jude saw this as a sign to stop playing, so he packed his phone back into his rucksack and was planning on hedging back to his tent. As he was heading back he heard a growl.

Jude turned and squinted his eyes at what he saw.

'Huh'

Not knowing what he was getting himself into he walked closer thinking he might see a lost dog or something but could see what he could make out to be bright yellow eyes staring directly into his eyes.

Jude paused thinking that whatever it was it would just walk or run away, in spite of his actions he was wrong.

Jude tried to take control of how he was breathing and closed his eyes to catch a breath, moments after opening his eyes he immediately jerked back.

A hairy wolf looking beast ripped with an impressive 6 pack had confronted young Jude and it didn't look like it was there to say hi.

The beast fierce as he was pointed his claws and Jude and said

'Your in my territory boy'
