Mateo and Shan had split up, seeing the situation escalating the two began to continue their respective missions. Shan looked for an opening among the crowd of warriors to get Ryan, and Mateo rushed into the palace.
Mat's troops were already prepared with all their plans. Since the beginning, they had been monitoring Orlin and Rhys' movements. Currently Orlin was still holding the battle, Ryan was cornered, his troops were numerous but not numerous enough to keep up with Orlin's troops that had been prepared in numbers beyond their expectations. While Rhys, I don't know how he's doing in the palace, one thing for sure is that he's trying to be ganged up on in there.
