chapter 4

The last day of the week , Friday was so amazing ritha cheered up with bill it was a blast but Saturday ritha was so lazy she woke up late than she ever did , as soon as she woke up her hair was messy and so was her room her eyes were still dozing, she yawned and then got ou of her bed and went to the bathroom , she had a shower then felt awake, she then organized her messy room , when all was done she went out of her room , she received a call from Jennifer as soon as she closed the door , " what could it be early morning Jennifer" , she whispered to herself and she answered it . " Ritha are you awake" , " yeah why" , " we're going to visit miley at the clinic to see if she is doing fine , want to to come with us" , " yeah I definitely can't miss I'll be right there" , " ok hurry we'll wait for you at the cafeteria near the park make it quick don't mind breakfast we'll pick up snacks, oh I almost forgot would you mind buying some flowers" , " no problem you can count on me" , " see yah" Jennifer said and she hang up. Ritha stepped out of her room and then went to the flower shop before going to the cafeteria and bought a bouquet of roses , she then went to the cafeteria . She entered the cafeteria but no one was there she had some coffee and snacks and waited of them to come , but they did not show up , she called Jennifer's phone but Jennifer did not pick it up , ritha preferred to thake the journey to the clinic on her own . She entered miley's room and everyone was there they were worried and she approached them " guys what's the matter" , she asked but no one answered her she placed the roses on miley's bed , " thanks ritha" miley sid softly but she appeared to be really sick aand no one could tell ritha what was going on , " ritha , miley is not any better , her condition is even more worse than it was" Jennifer told ritha at last , " but what do you mean , tell me Jennifer please I want to help" , " I'm sorry ritha but none of us can , ritha , miley has got cancer" ritha was shocked , " what , why didn't you tell me before I could find help" , " it's not your fault , neither us , cause none of us knew she had cancer trust me we just received the sad news from the doctor this morning that's why we left the cafeteria without telling you" , Jennifer said , " so then are we going to sit and watch our own beloved coach suffer"? , " miley we can do nothing to help in our own strength and effort" lanna said to ritha " then I know someone who can help", " who then ritha" ? tom asked , " only bill can help us". "I am afraid not ritha" , miley said in a soft voice , " but why miley it's the only way we can help you bill's dad is a professional doctor and runs his own hospital" , " ritha bill and I have not been talking in these past years but it's a long story I don't want to talk about it" , " but miley it's our only choice , we have to help you" ritha said but miley still couldn't agree , " miley I'll do whatever it takes to make sure you get better" , ritha said and went out of her room the others called her back but she couldn't she couldn't , she went to talk to miley's doctor . " Can I come in sir" she said as she knocked on the door to the doctor's office , " sure come I" the doctor said as he removed his glasses , " can I talk to you for a while" , " yeah come in , what can I do for you" , " miley , the woman you just approved of cancer is my coach and I want to know more about that disease" , " yeah so I don't know much about her situation but what I know is that It is not very bad but if we destroy the tumors before they spread to the whole body she will get better , but it is very costly so …" . Ritha did not hear the other words she then ran out of the office to notify the others .She arrived in miley's room , " guys I've got some good and bad news , miley's situation is not very bad the doctor said that if her tumors are destroyed at early stage she is going to be alright" , the others started to get happy , " but guys the bad news is that it is very expensive , " no worries guys we shall collect funds as much as we can it won't be hard" pete said and everyone cheered up , " don't worry miley it won't be long you'll be alright" ritha spoke to miley and smiled , miley was also very happy they spent little time with miley then they left she would be happy to the kids that she coaches help her . Ritha returned home her parents were in the living room she greeted them , " ritha you know see that it is important to tell me when you are going" , " why mom" , " I was worried about you" , " no need mom I was with my team mates in the club" , " okay , hope you had fun with them" , " yes mom kind of" she said and went upstairs to her room and closed the door . Her phone rang then , it was bill , ritha smiled she answered the phone with a soft voice , "hello" , " hey ritha how was your day" , bill said " it was kind of good but also bad I guess though it is not yet over", " what wasn't right then" bill said but ritha kept quiet for a while ,"ritha re you still there" ,bill asked, " yeah I am' ritha sad , " so tell me , what wasn't right about today" ?, " bill it is that ,we went to check on miley's illness and it was even worse than before" she said. " ritha continue what did you find in her" , " bill ritha has got pancreatic cancer" , " what" bill exclaimed , " I can't belive it ritha I was there at the clinic before anyone arrived , I came to check on her cause you had told me she was sick but she chased me without even telling me she even forbid her doctor to tell me anything about the situation", " bill it is not your fault nor miley's it's just a little misunderstanding but we shall settle things up now we have to figure out how miley will recover from her illness" yeah and I would like to help miley" , " that's nice about you bill" , " ritha ,it would be my only way to regain miley's trust so that she would forgive me , its going to be hard but I'll try because it is my only hope" , " you know what bill let's meet tomorrow and we shall talk about it" , okay ritha see you tomorrow and have a nice day" he said and hanged up. Ritha let go her phone and she breathed heavily and she rmoved her side bag and put it on her bed she then went out of her room . " oh , room you scared me" ! she exclaimed as she saw her mother as she closed her door " yeah I know ritha, but something is not okay" , " no mom it's fine" , " ritha , I am your mther and besides I am willing to help you so tell me what is wrong" , " mom it is all fine I promise" , " ok ritha it is fine if you insist but when you get refreshed" , her mom then continued down stairs but ritha had a huge burden to her heart . Ritha went outside but found it more boring so she returned to her room and had a hard time she couldn't believe she had lied to her mom but she was just afraid that it wouldn't be good to let her parents know about her worries because she was akind of a girl who liked to get her problems solved fast but now it was very hard for her . " Should I tell mom , but it could be worse , but again mom is someone I can trust more than anyone" she kept on whispering to herself and finally came to a decision , she decided to tell her mom, she then rose from her bed and went to her mom downstairs . She found her in the living room , " mom I am sorry for lying to you I have a problem indeed but I didn't want to tell you because I was worried that if I told you dad could have known and it would be worse you know how he always wants me to perfect but I can't with these feelings" , " ritha I can't blame you for that I know how it feels , but trust me I passed through those times too but the only one I could tell was your grandma , so tell me what's bothering you" , " so mom my coach is really in a bad situation , she pancreatic cancer and besides that we don't have any way of helping her quickly because it is even more costly and most of all she doesn't want to forgive her old student bill while he is willing to help her which makes it even worse" , " ritha it sure is not okay , because you have been having some bad times these days and don't worry because we are willing to help you so don't be worried that your dad wont be okay with it right" , " mom you are the best" she said then hugged her mom . " I totally couldn't say that your mom wasn't right because she is right we sure are there whenever you need us" ritha's dad said as she entered the living room , ritha and her mom looked at her dad and laughed at him , " dad have you been hearing us the whole time" , " yeah I sure did" he then joined them and hugged them all . " You know what ritha I will go talk to your coach and trust me she is going to accept bill's apology" , ritha's mom said " I'll also talk to bill so that he doesn't give up on miley" , " this is the time you've been waiting for angie your girl has grown to be one brave princess" ritha's dad said , " Gerald we've all been waiting for it , we raised her together" ritha's mom said as she poked he dad's arm . At the club everyone was joining funds to help their coach they also involved their parents but it couldn't be enough , " guys we've tried our best but all we could get wasn't enough , we need more" Jennifer said , they called ritha on the phone , " pickup come on , come on" lanna whispered , " hello she answered it" , " hey ritha it is lanna are you so busy right now" , " no just watching a movie" , " okay do you mind to come to the club right now" , " alright I'll be there in a while" she then went to talk to her mom . " Mom I think I need to go they are calling me , I think it's an emergency" , " okay ritha it's fine you can go" her mom said and she then left. She arrived at the club upon entering the club everyone was there but looked worried " ritha we have done all we could but it is just not enough" . " guys thanks for all you have done though it is not enough let's hope it things will get better but since bill is willing to help miley but she doesn't want him to , my parents promised to talk to miley maybe she will change her mind and it will all be fine" ritha said and they all cheered up . "Ritha I think I made a mistake you're the right person we could ever need , so wish that if it's possible you and I would …" , " oops tom I think it's not time for this we've got some serious work to take care of bye" ritha said to tom and they went home but tom's words were meaningless to ritha because she had started changed her ways . The week was about to start only one day left to make things right between miley and bill ritha woke up with an aim of talking to bill she left home and set for bill's place , but she didn't know bill's place , so she decided to call him , bill told her to meet him at the mariachi , and so she did. Ritha arrived at the mariachi but there was no sight of bill but she saw bill's car , so she had to wait for him , finally bill showed up he had two coffee mugs and a packet of cupcakes , upon seeing him , ritha smiled , she thought to run and hug him but ritha was still very shy , she approached and said hi , politely , " so what are you waiting for hop in " bill said as ritha entered and bill drove on the way that ritha ritha was so impressed and started smiling because of bill's nice attitude . They came to the center of the junction of the road in town and there was a traffic congestion , they waited but it wouldn't cease , ritha started to feel a little bit hungry and moved her hands closer to the packet of cup cakes , " ritha stop ,those are not yours" , " oh sorry I felt a little bit hungry" , " just kidding ritha help yourself with what you want" , " come on bill you made me feel awkward" ritha said and laughed , " I can't help it , I like to joke" , bill said and laughed too" , " you know what bill I …, I think we should talk now , because it is an emergency and the congestion seems to not cease" , " alright but what's the rush"? , " come on , nothing just wanna make it quick" , " okay , so let's get to the point ritha" bill said but ritha was starting to get more interested in bill's attitude ," okay first of all back to you and miley I want to know why won't she forgive you" , " you know , ritha let's not talk about it , let's leave the case and find the cure"," but bill why won't you trust me on this I'm your friend" , " ritha please let's not talk about it right now", "alrigt bill, I trusted you but you won't trust me , come on bill" ritha insisted as she held bill's hand , " fine ritha I'll tell you but you'll be mad at me too" , " okay" , " back that day as I remember it was last year we were sailing on miley's yacht , we were three , miley and her other friend jack were there with me on the yacht , I insisted to take control of the yacht but miley had warned me , she told me that if I see a hazard on the way I could tell her, then we noticed a storm but it was too late to change direction , miley told me not to tilt, but when the storm approached it would take the three of us so I tilted the yacht and we almost over turned into the sea and I tried to see jack thinking he was on the yacht but he was nowhere to be seen he had drowned she started shouting at me and I dived but couldn't find him because he wasn't wearing his safety jacket we called for help but when help arrived , they found jack but he had already suffocated but not dead , he was in coma for three and a half months at my father's hospital because that was all I could do to help , miley blamed me I those months and it brought her to her biggest worries but jack still couldn't wake up and time came jack passed away , the doctors said they tried what they could but miley said that it was their fault that jack could recover and then he hated me from that time , and she hated my father's hospital too" . After bill had narrated the whole story , ritha's face changed ," bill you are such a coward , why couldn't you you help jack before or why couldn't you tell miley about the storm before" , " but ritha I told you , I wasn't responsible o jack's death" , " what!! , so you did the right thing by waiting until jack suffocated , you know what I am out of here" she opened the car and went out of the car and couldn't control her emotion she shed tears, " ritha wait I can explain", " no bill you are an animal , you are not brave , miley was right about you, there is nothing good about you" ritha ran away through the cars , bill lost ritha , he couldn't see her , he ooked down, " why am I such an idiot no one understands me, my only hope was ritha and now she's gone, why did I tell her" , bil talked to himself and soon the traffic congestion ceased he tried to turn back and searched for ritha but she was nowhere to be seen , bill went back home . Ritha walked to the subway station she was crying and everyone was looking at her , she entered the train and then it took her to the mall , she took a taxi and went home. , she opened the door and went to her room upstairs , her parents looked at each other and wondered what was her problem , they couldn't tell what was her problem , he mom went upstairs and opened her room , " honey is everything okay" , " no mom nothing , bill is not a good person , I know the truth now , and dad was also right about him, I should have trusted dad" she then covered her face and sobbed bitterly. Her dad mom didn't know what she was talking about , honey why don't you take a nap ,maybe you are tired it'll be fine when you wake up , " maybe you are right mom" she said to her mom and then lied on her bed , her mom shut the door and went back downstairs
