chapter 1

The sky was clear and blue, the sea breeze cooler than ever ,the warm sunlight melting her to comfort ,so it was the perfect time to go surfing. RITHA stepped out of the log cabin at the beach in her black swimming suit, her smile was wider than ever or the first time in weeks, she had spent almost two weeks without going to the barracuda surfing club at the beach. The waves could splash and wash the warm sand and making her even more joyful. RITHA held her surfing board and ran towards the sea, she dived into the warm sea water, she lied on her surfing board as she started paddling she paddled towards the furthest end she could reach, the restricted area, she had no fear to surf in dangerous areas but all times she tried to surf the giant waves, she would fall into the water before she surfed. RITHA tried many times but wouldn't do it, she gave up as usual and then paddled back to the beach. "Nice move girl" Jennifer said to ritha , Jennifer was the kind of girl ritha wanted to like, Jennifer was even more faster and skillful than ritha could ever be she was very perfect and every one at the club liked her. Jenifer wore her purple swimming suit , ritha approached her and they started talking as usual . "Hey Jennifer ", ritha said as she approached her at the grocery. "So how have you been doing ritha " , "all has been boring Jennifer no sea no comfort and when I try to surf a giant wave I always fail , unlike you " ritha answered Jennifer, pete and tom were there just admiring the girls as they talked but tom as more concerned on ritha like he had never seen a girl like her. RITHA looked aside and her hair was blowing because of the sea breeze, tom approached ritha to talk to her . RITHA that kind of girl who was very negatively minded she never thought anything good about herself, she only wanted to go beyond the limits. "Get me an ice cold cola please" ritha said to the tender, "make it two please" tom interrupted , "hi ritha", "hi" ritha answered as she moved her curly hair behind her ear lobe," so how long have you been surfing " tom asked her "huh" she sighed "i have been doing this for quite a long time I don't even remember" and she answered " so I am new in this club and I love surfing too hope we shall make a preety good tea" tom said " me and you, team I don't think so I love individual work" Ritha said as she approached Jennifer . " who is that new guy he is trying to team up with me , but I don't bet on that she has tried the wrong girl" , "come on ritha he is just friendly you cannot say that about him", " but I cannot just become friends with just a random guy we just met" , " alright may be you will work things out on your own I wil just leave you , bye". Jennifer took her surfing board and went with pete towards the sea , they had cane close o each other than ritha and tom had . " Sorry for being mean I guess that was not polte at all" ritha said to tom in shame she was so nervous ,she could not even look at tom in his eyes. " that is fine ritha , it was nothing " tom insisted , " thanks , so what were you trying to say I the first place" ritha said "ohh I was just trying to see if we would go surfing together as a new team right I want to make new friends here I have just met pete and wanted to know you too", " ok that is fine welcome to the barracuda club, I will introduce you to the others and the coach , her name is miley she is the woman in a black jacket and a red hat" , "ritha said as she pointed at coach miley she was a friendly one . "and that is mike , he is so charming he is only thirteen years he is the youngest at the club". Guys meet I want you to meet tom he is new here , and tom meet the barracudas , " hi guys I am tom nice to meet you I hope it will be nice teaming up with you" tom said but he was so nervous he said quickly and left ritha followed him outside. "Hey what is with the rush you cannot just leave like that ", ritha you have no idea how I felt its unusual I do not behave like this usually" , " ok I get it I was nervous too , the first day, want to try on some outfits", "yeah sure" tom answered ritha . They entered the log cabin where all club trophies were kept surfing boards and surfing suits , " wow are all these yours" tom said , " no its for the whole club , we work as a team to achieve all we have , but when it comes to me I am not really good at teaming up , never mind let us go on"ritha said and they continued , " this is the locker rooms boys` and girls` actually two chambers this is where all the action happens" ritha said to tom and they all laughed .There were many sorts of outfits all colors and many designs , "so try one on", "I will go for the green one" tom said tom yelled and Ritha looked at to with an annoyed face , " ohh sorry i think I am acting very terrible I wanted the green one so badly but it is fine choose for me" , " no problem , you can have it I don't bother " ritha said to tom and they smiled at each other" , " you are such a joker tom " , ritha said to tom " no it is just being polite" , " ok never mind lets go on" ritha said and they continued the tour, tom was in a mood of getting close to ritha but ritha was not in such a mood. "Here in this room are the greatest heroes of the barracuda club", ritha said , " this is morgan , james morgan he is the founder of the club back in the 90`s actually 1999 after winning the men`s surfing competition". " So what happeed to him after", " his left arm was eaten by a shark when he tried to surf far away in the sea" , "hey that is so bad", " just kidding , lets carry on" , " seriously" said tom . " ritha i saw you back there when you were trying to surf on a giant wave" , " ok so what are you trying to show me my failures", " come on ritha it is not like that I just wanted to ask you if we could surf together and maybe I can teach you to handle that kind of wave right" , " ok that is fine you will teach when we are done with this we sti have plenty to do come on you still have one more to chose a surfing board". "Can I get that one with a ring of fire, the yellow one", " wise choice" , " why do you say so ritha?", " it has got some cool memories", " ok I want to hear about it" , "it was coach Jackson`s favorite" , "who is Jackson", ' ok he is one of the heroes i think we were so fat we didn't have time to see him he contributed a lot to the barracuda club like the grocery, at first we could carry snacks but thanks to him we no longer may be you will do something great as he did right", " all the best from tom" he said and they all laughed and they went out of the log cabin and headed to the beach , " so you are our second Jackson tom ?", " I will try my best to do better , a skinny beautiful blonde haired girl approached tom " hi , I am lanna and i think I saw you earlier, and you are", " I am tom t, tom Jefferson I think I said it earlier" , " i just wanted to confirm, see you in practice" lanna then left, tom looked at lanna as she left " she is a good one right" , " she sure is" tom said " she is kind of a hypocrite and by the way she is last year`s prom queen" , " ok I get it" tom was still looking at lanna closely " so, I think it is too late right now, I have to go I will see you tomorrow" tom said as he went back to the locker room ."I know how you are feeling, you were getting along finally and someone interrupted" Jennifer whispered to ritha as she was starring at tom behind the windows", " come on I am not jelous just admiring him but I did not crush on him" , " ok my bad , but how did you know what I was talking about if you didn't crush on him" jennifer said to ritha , " come on you know I am not interested in love matters", ' then why are you worried about tom ending up with lanna" Jennifer said " I am not jelous ok", " ok sorry about that let us go it is getting cold out here". "You know what ritha sometimes we ignore things I just to keepit from our friends , but when it gets to love you cannot hde it", said Jennifer , " but I am not ready to fall in love with tom what do I have to do he s so charming even more than mike and you cannot get bored with him", " relax ritha maybe he is the right oe for you" said jennnifer , they went out of the the cabin and set for home ritha banged the door and did not even say bye to the coach, " what is the matter with her" miley asked Jennifer , " she is facing her fears , I mean love" Jennifer said to miley and they all laughed , " you know what Jennifer this happened to me and iwas also at the barracuda club , that is when I met my husband Richard" , " wow , what a happy ending , I hope they will end up together" Jennifer said , " ok etter head home before it is too late Jennifer" , miley said to Jennifer and they all left the barracuda club and went home.

Ritha was on her bed she could not rest she was fighting with her mind all that came to her mind was tom and lanna getting together " what is wrong", dear a husky voice sounded from behind her , it was her dad , "uhmm nothing dad I am trying to sleep but I cannot", " don't you want anything to drink", " no dad I am fine" she said to her dad . Her phone rang as soon as her dad went out of her room , it was Jennifer , " hello , ritha please don't hang up i talked to cach miley earlier and she told me that your performance is going to decline if you keep on worrying about what you are passing through it is normal to have that feeling but please don't stress yourself just have a nap and tomorrow you will figure out how you can handle it ok" , " ok Jennifer I fell better now thank you good night", ritha said and Jennifer hang up . Ritha turned on her smooth jazz ,but it could not get her to sleep she tried some country music but not even her favorite playlist could not get her to sleep, it was even worse then she turned on some heavy metal music ,it was weird but it made her forget about tom for a while and then fell a sleep. Her room was loud and her father sneaked in and turned it off , ritha was is dilemma ,this time ritha did not have the courage that she had. She was distressed and afraid she would crush on a guy for the first time in her time , she was so focused on her dream of becoming a great surfer like Jackson. Ritha was very happy before and enjoyed her time with tom but sending a whole day with him had pulled her very close to tom . She was not used to feelings like these yet it was the last thing on her mind that night, it was terrifying "what if I end up in the wrong hands , what if she would not reach her destination that was all ritha`s thoughts all the night.
