A Walk Among Stars

Would you give your sight... the very essence of that sense of yours...? So that never again would you be able to see again. For the simple ability to heal. Take upon the injuries of those you care for. As with a single touch. They shall be healed. Whether it be a broken limb... a bruise... or even a whole arm... nothing, not a single thing within your grasp will ever be broken. Yet when I opened my eyes... it was not the kaleidoscope of colors I knew the world as... nor the exuberant face of my sister. No, it was to this empty void. Filled only by my sense of touch. "Of course" There was no other answer that would satisfy my will. For this was my choice... and my choice alone. ... When the world was created... populated by species upon species of beings. Yet a drop here... a star that may have yet to burst. A small flap of some God's coat. For the world was given life. Life greater than others. For they could use magic. An ability so wondrous that many nations had been created and felled in the harrowed halls of libraries. Yet this ability was not equal, and neither was the strength of will. For it appeared within women, every man that was born... for every one of them, there was an equal thousand women. As for magic. A rare occurrence already, made even more rare by the gap. A change in dynamic. For there was not some great king... there was not one holy emperor. Or even a god. There was a queen... a holy empress.... a Goddess. For man's place was not on the battlefield but upon the soft ballrooms, kitchens laden with instruments of creation rather than destruction. Married into well families that cared for them like precious possessions.

Golden green, a symbol of the Belle's, a family of unremarkable's. Those who strove yet never reached anything. For that was the fate of most noble families, cornered to some unknown plot of land.

Given to them by their mother, or their mother's mother. An inherited land given to extradite them away from the center of political power. Though their best use was against the relentless invasions.

Both monsters and countries. Many fell, and those that didn't, those that rebelled with their own power. With money made by genius merchants born within their family, or tacticians capable of turning the tide of battle.

Only those families could survive. So to say that the Belle's were unremarkable was to tell a lie. For they had survived three generations. A feat that could be given to their talent. Or even to their luck.

Either way. They had survived. Only their heirs were sent away. Charlotte, the heiress to the head. Sent to the academy to learn and bring the family to power once again. And the son.

Given to another more powerful family.

It was destined for them to never again meet each other. Except that was not what happened. For the letter spoke of a meeting. Between brother and sister. Between Charlotte and I.

A smile graced my features. Enchanting those that watched my form.

I held that letter close to my chest. Rolling the bottom of my foot in an anxious way.

"Just wait…" I whispered. Just wait, in mere hours I would be reunited.

And when the leaves of the trees began to sway with the wind. A quiet rain that pitter pattered against my hair. Foot against foot as I waited here. Excitement within my chest.

'Another moment… just one more…'

Over and over again. The phrase just continued to echo within my mind. My sight observing the empty souls that observed me in turn. Their eyes full of greed. Only they would not act on that same greed.

For I was with someone even more powerful. My teacher. She had appeared with no warning. A hand on my face as she turned it this and that.

"What has ye so excited?"

Her voice was old… ancient even. Even her accent had regressed to one of old. But I paid it no heed. I turned and smile at her. Placing a hand on her own.

"My sister. She wishes to meet me here."

"Ah, you must have been apart for some time."

I nodded. Fingers scrunching, made wet by the small droplets of rain that pierced through the canopy of trees.

"Yes, it has been quite some time. I wish to reunite."

"I see. Then take this. Your next lesson will be within the night."

I nodded. A feverish desire took hold within my chest. Waiting on end for the woman that never came.

Hour after hour. Her form… her soul, one I was so familiar with… it never came. I waited end on end. Hour after hour. Until the sun rose once more, my back against that same chair. Empty eyes as I crushed the letter in a vice like grip.

Was it a lie? Did she merely want to crush my hopes, I… I truly did not know. But what I did know… was that I hoped it was not the truth.

I stood, my legs weak from the constant shifting. The bob of my knee as it waited in anxiety. It ached so much.

Not more than the hurt within my soul.

'Where are you?'

A tear poured down my face. Another hand grabbing at me. For a moment I hoped. Hoped that maybe it was she. But no, when I turned. Inspecting the soul.

I hiccuped. Fear welling within my being as she… as she pulled me back down to the bench.

There was no one here. The sun had just risen and even the earliest of risers had not even come from their dorms.

And they had no reason to. For there was no mandatory lesson today. No, that had been the day before.

"Gabriel~" She sang. My body froze. There was no movement. Only true fear as she took my stiff hand in hers. Reigning a kiss over it. A smirk within her soul.

One that told of absolute enjoyment. Knowing that she had… what others would kill for.

Only… between that fear and frozen disbelief. A word reached my lips.

"Why?"

A plea for mercy. I wanted to know why… why she had done such a thing… why she continued to torment me. Even after she had taken my first. Had soiled my body.

"The prestige. I have mm~ done this to many others. I have no shame admitting that." She whispered between my ears. Her voice predatory as she licked at the nape of my neck.

My eyes dilated. Trying to search for some escape. Flickering between soul sight, seeing nothing but a void of souls, and an all encompassing vision. Devoid of only colors.

"But you my dear. You are special, at first it was routine. I took your cherry, it was the knowledge knowing that I took what you were saving for that special one. Then slowly your achievements trickled to my ear. And now… a saint amongst men. Oh the prestige of knowing that I~ drove~ him~ to pleasure~"

A hiss echoed from my mouth as she bit my neck. Trailing bites and kisses over, caring not for my pain. Only for her own sick and perverted pleasure.

I wanted to flea, to move, to do anything. But my body did not respond. As if she had cast a spell - which she most likely had done - I was stuck to that bench.

Forced to experience pain and pleasure under her grasp. I did not want to… oh how I didn't. But she forced me to.

'Please… someone… anyone…'

I wasn't even able to voice those thoughts as she trailed a finger over my mouth. Parting it and making me suck upon her digit. Only to slowly, but surely, bring me to her lap. Grinding her chest against my back.

'Please… just please…'
