A Villainess's Mother

Adriana, the divorced wife of Duke Auguste Von Britten, the youngest Swordmaster in the Kingdom, and the mother of the supposedly villainous woman, Annalise. She, along with her family were executed for being the family of the villainess. She came back to a time when her daughter just became three years old (15 years back), and when she was still a married couple with the Duke, only to realise that things were not as simple as they seem to be.

What a woman

Her memories were playing in a loop torturing her mentally, torturing her soul. She felt her soul being repeatedly torn apart and mended. Perhaps it was because she was despairing over the fact that she couldn't save any of her family members including her own child from these nefarious schemes that she didn't notice her soul force expanding beyond the limits anyone could achieve, well atleast no one has been recorded to have such a massive amount like that.

She even forgot her conversation with Clara, Jessy and the doctor Edward she had just before fainting. She felt that it might have been a sweet break before this torture that might perhaps last for all eternity. She couldn't accept the fact that she could have gone to a time in the past, it was too sweet to be true.

She even thought that she deserved this torture of going through those painful events over and over again so that she'll never forget how useless she had been and that if, just probably if she really had been given a chance she'll never repeat her past tragedy.

She felt guilty and responsible for what happened. After all, had she been more cautious and didn't fall for their petty schemes, she had more than enough resources to save her family and get back at whoever those crooks were.

While Adriana let herself be trapped by her painful memories as a punishment for her foolishness, Annalise her daughter was crying her eyes out barely able to breath. Edward broke out in cold sweat seeing the child's face turning blue out of lack of air.

He tried everything to calm her down but nothing worked, even Emma was tired from trying to calm her down. Emma told the others that the child was just playing and giggling like usual when she suddenly started crying out as if wanting to go out of the room. But it was Duke's exclusive order that the child should not be let out of the room until she behaves like a normal child that won't disgrace his family's name. As if he had any good reputation left.

Hearing this Edward somehow felt that he should deliver the child to her mother's embrace and remembered the crazy woman's words that the child should urgently be sent over to the Duchess without any delay, but he already wasted too much time roaming around.

In his vivid imagination he even felt that perhaps the child felt her mother's suffering after seeing her cry out of breath muttering incoherently. He didn't have much time to loose so he had the nanny carry the child and rush to the Duchess's room, keeping the child's comfort as priority.

The moment the child was taken out of her room and was approaching her mother's room the child calmed down and started calling for her mother. Not only was the child's development slow but she never talked. This was the first time for everyone hearing her talk.

The nanny, Emma was ecstatic, but at the same time nervous after hearing what happened to her mistress who she took care of since she was a teeny little baby. Their speed unconsciously increased and almost started running towards her room.

The moment they reached the room, Elaine opened the door and took Annalise in her arms and immediately teleported near Adriana and put the child near her mother. Annalise immediately jumped onto her mother's embrace and started calling her.

The moment the child came to her embrace the expression of pain and despair on Adriana's face suddenly calmed down. She looked as if she was clutching onto straws to save herself from drowning in despair.

Jessy the calmest among immediately asked Elaine, " Pardon me Miss Elaine, but what is wrong with our mistress and how did you know that the young lady could help her?"

Elaine replied in a frivolous manner as usual, " Ohh I was just guessing, she looked like she needed to see her precious daughter, I gave her daughter. And there's nothing wrong with her, it's just that her soul force increased too fast that made her soul unstable for a while. Now that her child, her anchor that gives her the will to live is here, her soul has become stable so there's no need to worry. Just wake me up when she's awake, we need to have a heart to heart talk about her recklessness. Well then I'm sleeping here I haven't slept in ages and just when I was going to sleep this brat had to cause trouble. yawn.. I'm going to sleep now."

<thud> The soft sound of a body falling echoed in the room. Everyone looked bewildered at the lady who was just chatting happily previously falling down without rhyme or reason.

Clara asked with a shaky voice, " Doc-doctor is the lady dea- l mean c-can you check if she's ok."

Clara's question woke him from his bewilderment. He thought to himself, ' Why is everyone fainting today. Hahh this family is so troublesome so I guess I should stay until they have no need for my help.'

He bent down and checked her pulse to see that she simply lost consciousness out of extreme exhaustion. He was impressed that this seemingly fragile but frivolous woman looked strong just a few moments ago even when she was so exhausted, that if it were anyone else in her shoes, they would have collapsed long ago.
