A Villain's Guide to World Domination

Let me begin by telling you how much I hate cliches and Happy ever after's. Cinderella, getting the prince with love at first sight, snow-white, and her Prince with love’s first kiss…who’s gonna tell these fools that real life doesn’t work like that and don't even get me started with the so-called heroes. It's almost like the world is blind, and my four-eyed self(making sure to clean my pair of glasses before putting them back on) is the only human that can see that: Villains are the true masterminds, the ones with the goals, the only people who see the world as it is- an apple for the taking. That's why my motto is: Life is short and I, Ray, should always come FIRST. ********* Unlike the cute facade Ray puts up in front of his mother: the only person he cares about, Ray is anything but cute. He sees the world he lives in a little differently and he intends to change it. Unlike others vying to become heroes, he embraces the villain he knows himself to be and the absolute ruler he hopes to become. In a high-tension world where superhumans exist alongside mutated beasts with powers of their own , there is a huge gap between heroes and villains. Apart from the different grades(F-A) powers are divided into, they are also classified into two main groups. Propensity for good( Hero-like) and Propensity for bad(Villain-like). This means that the power each person can awaken directly affects how they are treated and which organizations and groups they can join. At fifteen, Ray’s life doesn’t go according to how he planned it. Not only is he unable to awaken his powers but caught in the crossfire of a huge battle between a hero and a villain, his life lingers at the brink of death. Just before his soul escapes his body, he gains a death-related system that not only changes his looks and body but also the way people view him. Regardless, Ray doesn’t care. His sole purpose is *world domination* even if he has to bring the world to its knees first. At first, he tries to join hands with a villain organization his father belonged to when he was alive, to take down as many heroes as he can as his powers slowly grow to balance the gap between the two groups. But when he discovers how shallow-minded other villains were to each other and themselves. Almost at the cost of his life, he finds a way to upgrade his system and ventures out on his own, building his army from scratch, using the very souls of the mutated beasts the human race is daily battling to defeat. Under Control

"I'll get to that in a minute but first do you know who I am?" Glow asked, staring at the boy in front of her with a clearly startled expression on his face as she stared back at him with a nonchalant one, not at all surprised to get the reaction she got next.

"I don't care about who you are! WHERE. IS. MY. MOTHER?" She heard him yell, half thankful that he wasn't able to move as she watched him stare at her with vicious eyes.

"So he does know and still dares to yell at me," Glow thought shocked to feel the seeds of anger that were slowly sprouting inside her.

"Your name is Ray Lewon and your mother's name is Malory Lewon while your father's name is Helion Levon, his power of foresight was…"

"DON'T YOU DARE TALK ABOUT MY FATHER! All of you are the reason he's dead," Ray screamed in anger at first before speaking in a lower tone when he noticed how painful yelling was for him.

"Yes, he was a pretty powerful man but simply because your AIs decided to label his powers as having a greater chance of being used for evil, he was placed right in front of the army along with the other Villains. Like our villain lives are any less precious than those of heroes,"

"Everyone has their place in the army and what do you mean by "Our". You're not a villain and last time I checked you don't even have any powers," Glow replied with a sly expression of delight on her face which seemed to piss off Ray even more.

"Soon, I'll get them very s…" Ray replied in a lower tone than before and was still talking when he was interrupted by Glow.

"There's a military Programme for people without powers. It's a growing occurrence that we're trying to find the source of even if few…"

"WHERE. IS. MY MOTHER!"Ray suddenly Hollared, interrupting Glow this time around before she could even begin to explain why she was giving him the information he already knew.

"I'll rather die than be one of your experiments," Ray thought as he yelled ignoring the slight pain he felt in his throat as he did so.

The room suddenly went silent as even Jirena who stood beside her boss couldn't help but shoot worrying looks at the boy on the bed before throwing a side glance at her boss, knowing that her anger was almost as bad as Incinerate's whenever it happened, even though she liked to pretend otherwise, especially when someone questioned her authority in any form.

"She's going to break him…" Jirena sighed in her mind, a little sure of how her boss' mind worked.

In a blink of an eye, Glow dropped the nice woman act she put up. She got to her feet and began talking while walking towards Ray's bed.

"You know exactly what happened to your mother Ray but it's okay if you want me to tell you...SHE'S DEAD and it's not even in a pretty way. The fire burned her body so much that even with our best equipment, only a pinch of her ashes could be extracted from the ground."

"It's almost like she never existed,"

Glow said watching the angry light in Ray's eyes dim a little with a smug smile on her face.

"And before you label me as a liar….," Glow continued snapping her fingers at one of the well-dressed men behind her. In a blink of an eye, she was handed a round metal urn, which she then placed on the little table connected to his bed.

"Her ashes, if I can call it that is in this urn and you can get it tested as soon as you're able to walk...which brings us to another matter," Glow continued speaking even as she ignored the tears she could already see pooling at the corners of his eyes, shoving the fact that he was only a fifteen-year-old boy out of her mind.

"You've spent a week in this hospital while the best machines and abilities have been used to constantly keep you alive which adds up to…," Glow said pausing for effect as Jirena stepped forward and finished her sentence almost like they rehearsed it beforehand.

"Ten thousand silver notes,"

"...and how much will it take for him to be completely healed enough to walk around with new skin, bones, and everything…" Glow asked, speaking to Jirena even though she never once took her eyes off Ray.

"The reconstructive surgery would require Thirty thousand silver notes," Jirena said, adjusting the glasses on her face as she spoke.

At this point, Ray who had been slightly zoning out at the mention of his mother's death, especially when her Urn had been placed right in front of him, couldn't help but open his mouth in shock as he heard them announce such a huge amount of money he had never seen in his life and would probably never see in his life.

"If my maths is correct…" Glow said, cupping her jaw with her right hand, while assuming a thinking posture, "The total for you to walk out of this hospital and be completely well would be Forty thousand silver notes," Glow announced glad to see the boy in front of her show feelings of shock and despair, which were the exact emotions she wanted to see.

"Being a citizen of the city of levigne, the government is gracious enough to pay damages of up to ten thousand that had been spent so far. We have done our job and you're alive, but the remaining thirty thousand that would help you walk out of here would have to be paid by you," Glow said, plastering a small smile on her face, since she felt she was moving closer to the main part of her plan.

"Wow…that is so Gracious of the government seeing as how it's their fault I'm here in the first place and my mother is dead," Ray belted out in a hoarse voice, seeing how shouting and yelling after he hadn't spoken in a long time was a bad idea, even though the expression on his face didn't in any way go with the words he just said.

"You kill my mother and paralyze me and that's the best you can do?" Ray asked in a conversational tone, his eyes trained on Glow who seemed to have been caught unaware by how plainly Ray spoke, especially since a second ago he had been nothing but a sad teenager who now looked at her with nothing but a cold hateful gaze.

"You're definitely delir…"

"Delirious? No, I'm not. You're the delirious one," Ray interrupted before plainly insulting her, noting again the tension that rose in the air akin to the first time he did such a thing, as he continued speaking like he had no care in the world even if he was unable to move any part of his body.

"I'm not stupid. You're here to put a lease around my neck because you think I'm a child and you're right, I am mourning for my mother. But to think I'm foolish enough to let my grief cloud my judgment and let you do it."

"Now who's the stupid one…" Ray said, a little satisfied to see an expression of fierce anger flash across the face of the hero called "Madam Glow" whom he was of course familiar with, with her being one of the top heroes in their entire continent and five cities.

Her face could be found in city halls, hanging on picture frames in the libraries and the fact that she was now standing in front of him meant that whatever she wanted from him was important and he had no intention of letting her have it.

So I took a tiny break, and here's two chapters to make up for it. I also intend on increasing the word count of each chapter going forward.

Thanks, Kung.
