112: The Chairman II

Alucard frowned upon seeing the stop, and that frown was all they needed to hurriedly go back to their job.

He nodded approvingly before walking to an office in the distance, several employees shot him sidelong glances, especially those that were free temporarily or finished their agenda.

He reached a particular office and entered without even knocking.

The moment he entered, the people inside, a lot of professionals in business outfits, males and females all stared straight at him before bowing deeply!

"Welcome Chairman!"

In front of him all the heads and vice heads of the different departments, head secretary Ji, CEO Guanhui, every single one of them bowed to him.

Alucard hadn't spent much time with his people, it could even be said that Alcina was more of a chairman than him at this point.

"At ease… You can continue." He finally said and they all stopped bowing and sat down.

"Boss, it is nice to have you here, I thought you had left the leadership to Lady Dimitrescu." Ma Guanhui who had not seen Alucard in a while smiled and addressed him.

"I have been quite busy as of late Guanhui… I heard about your issues, how is your health?" The count rested his head on his hand and asked dismissively. He could sense the latter's body and aside from fatigue, there wasn't anything significant going on with his body.

"It is not important boss, I have told them I'm alright, but they insist to replace me!" The CEO shouted in outrage, he didn't want to step down from this position, now that Hermes' was making progress under this Chairman's leadership, how could he leave the scene?

It would be a lie to say that he didn't feel tired, but he also felt thrilled! Wanting to see the extents this company could reach, and he didn't want to miss a second of it!

"I can see just from your face that you're tired Guanhui, I'm still looking for a replacement, but it will just be temporary. However, this is going to be your last year as the CEO…" Alucard decided with closed eyes, surprising everyone present.

"Why are you firing me, boss? Have I done a bad job?!" He asked with agitation.

The gazes of everyone present travelled between the two, not daring to mention a word. Most people in the room worked with Guanhui before Alucard became the Chairman.

Their loyalty to Ma Guanhui was unquestionable, however… The boss had changed now. And he was unparalleled.

"You haven't. Ma Guanhui, your leadership and attitude as a CEO have been remarkable, not only have you managed to control everything in my absence, but you also managed to integrate the personnel I got into this company so quickly despite their foreign origin. "I told you that you would stop being the CEO, but I didn't say that I didn't want you to be part of this corporation… I'll sell you a reasonable part of our shares in order for your voice to carry strength in the corporative meetings. You will be one of our major stockholders and your voice will carry weight in our decision-making. But you won't be the CEO."

His sentence left everyone awestruck.

"The corporation I envision is not something you're capable of accomplishing… That is why I need a different CEO, you have accomplished your part, let the younger generations take the lead."

His words, to everyone present, sounded like the voice of a sage.

Secretary Ji looked at him deeply, not believing the 'King' of Zhonghai, Vlad Tepes, had such a mentality.

His words rooted something within her, that she wouldn't realise until much after.

The Vampire King let the weight of his words fall as Alcina stared at him with shining eyes.

This Hermes Corporation was his, regardless of whether he was present or not, it was his responsibility.

Nothing that ever belonged to him would be common or standard.

Hermes' Brewings had to be at the top of the world, or it wouldn't be worth the label of being founded by him.

But then he stood up and bowed deeply, "Thank you for allowing me to stay here… It is my deepest wish and honour to see the company that I formed with blood and sweat, reach the altitude you will lead it towards… even if it no longer belongs to me."

Alucard simply nodded, "We have deviated from the main objective. You can keep up with your meeting, I'm merely a listener while Alcina is the one that shall answer your questions."

With his words, everyone nodded with a smile and took their place, only to gape when suddenly Alcina very shamelessly sat on his lap.

'What are you doing?' Alucard asked with a neutral voice in her head, it wasn't common for her to act like this in public.

'Master~ you took my seat, if I don't seat here, where am I going to sit?~' She answered as her gaze focused on the directors who also stared at her with shock.

'You can stand…'

'Yes… But I prefer sitting here~' She giggled and brushed her big butt on his crotch slightly.
