Arrested again

"I'm going through a phase. My father wants me to marry an older man and I don't want to so I ran away and stole a car. " I effortlessly lied when I saw that she wasn't letting the issue go.

She didn't speak after that. She drove to the city and parked at the station. I sighed when I saw the familiar setting. I had been in that station more times than I had been anywhere else. It brought the bad nostalgic back.

She pulled me from the car and dragged me to the station. I silently followed her as she took me to the front desk to book me in. I felt nauseous just being there. I had never been arrested before and I didn't know what to expect in a cell.

"Can I make a phone call?" I asked her.

"So you can call the boyfriend you wanted to run away with? " She asked with a laugh. She was mocking the story I had told her. I knew that the story was fake but it still hurt to be mocked like that.
