Are You Shocked?

"ID…card…" Everly mumbled and abruptly blinked her eyes. "Y-yes." She nodded and stuffed her hands into the pocket of her jacket as though she were looking for the ID card.

 

"What's going on?" She spoke with a frown on her face and began frantically searching her pocket.

 

"Is everything okay, ma'am?" The security guard asked, seeing the apprehensive look on her face.

 

"Yeah, everything is fine. It's just that... I can't seem to find my ID card. I think it must have fallen out of my pocket while I was rushing here," Everly explained with a cynical utterance on her face.

 

"My apologies. But I really can't let you in if you can't show me your ID card. You can perhaps call your manager and I may be able to let you in after I speak to her." The security guard explained to her, and Everly slowly nodded.

 

"I see…" She turned around and took a long, deep breath, now unsure of what to do.
