CHAPTER THIRTEEN: PRESENT, ME?

Max's P.O.V

‘You ever wonder why you, because I do!’ I huffed.

‘I am sitting here, wondering where to next. I mean, Cie practically threw me out of the window. Maybe it was her father, he got the best of her, as usual, but eventually she will show up, I'm sure’ I was still worried though.

‘I need to stay out of sight for now. I mean, those men, they can find me anytime. I need to find a place to lay low, until Cie comes looking for me, or maybe I’m just lying to myself, and she won’t come’ I strolled to the next big tree I saw, to lean on it.

‘...but, I have to come back here, to make sure she doesn't miss me’ I turned and looked at Cie's bedroom window.

She wasn't there, I could tell. I waited for a minute, just hoping I to see her pop up at the window, but she never did.

‘Mmhh...I need to leave a message for her then. She’s probably just busy’
