CHAPTER EIGHT: WHY HER?

Macie’s P.O.V

“Why are we driving like mad dogs?” I asked suddenly confused. I mean fuck the formalities, this was my life at stake.

But there was no response. I was scared.

‘What happened in that house that could cause this hysteria?’ I thought looking at both Andrea and Maya. They just looked so scared. Like someone told them their cat died and the thing that killed it was coming for them too.

‘White people shit’ I rolled my eyes.

“Macie please shut up I’m trying to think” Miss Johnson blurted out surprising me after a long silence of hysterical driving.

“I didn’t say anything though” I defended not sure what had happened.

“You tend to think out loud” Andrea said in a bored tone surprising me with her tone.

‘Is she bored of me already?’

“Cie, I like you. But I think it’s best we drop you off at your place” Andrea said blankly surprising me.

‘I thought she liked me’

‘Wait, she said she liked me, she likes me, she likes me, Oh my!’
