A Time for Redemption

Humanity isn't ending, it's just beginning. A wall surrounds the growing nations, historians claim could only have been built by the gods themselves. A metropolitan government hunts two young boys for their president who has been in power for 200 years. A governor who can call upon the hand of god to smite his enemies. All threads lead to a mercenary, and a spy working against his own government.

All the Kings Men

His walk was stern, dress shoes clattering against the marble floor. Dress pants loose but, tight enough to stick to his muscle bound legs, jacket and tie hugging his barrel chest. Neatly trimmed blonde beard nearly covering the opening on his suit jacket, long blonde hair tied in a ponytail dancing between his shoulder blades with each step. In his hands a folder swinging with his arms with each step, and the clattering of his shoes on the marble floor echoing in the hallway of doors. Polished stone walls colored tan, lined with brown doors on either side. His steps continued to echo, strong confident steps until he reached a door. Without stopping or slowing down pushed the door open walked in and slammed it behind him, the hallway now lay silent.

"Sir", a long oval table made of glass lined with men and women wearing parade military uniforms. Blue with shiny medals pinned to their chests, and insignia on their shoulders. He stopped and the head of the table waived his right hand and they all sat. "FAILURES! the lot of you", slamming the nearly empty folder upon the table, as everyone's eyes opened wide and their bodies tighten at his words. "It seems I have only one of you who refuses to fail, and even then only partially", now in a softer tone. "Mr. President, there is a resistance gathering, mostly in Tall town and in the capital", she sat next to the president's chair, hair blonde cut just below the ears, nearly white, slim athletic figure back straight and tall.

"I suppose that's more than the rest of you", he pulls out his chair and softly sits and stares with his light sea green eyes at those surrounding his table. " So advisors and leaders, what is your advice. Adum has escaped, the boys have escaped, and Captain Rigne is on his way back to the capital with their mother in tow. How do we recapture Adum, find the boys and who to interrogate their mother? "One raises his hand, red skinned hand protruding proudly from his dark blue sleeve. Black hair cut short, and his red face nearly blank if not for the sliver of confidence that was ever present. "General Toha, your son continues to produce results, though meager, I pray to the gods you continue to do the same". " Of course your grace" he proudly proclaims before standing. "Adum is a ticking time bomb his recapture is not worth our time. The boys on the other hand, is what we should focus on. It is all based upon potential your grace, Adum though powerful as he is can never threaten our great nation. The boys on the other hand, if they would ever be able to unlock whatever potential they have could level cities with a wave of their hand". "True words General, though bold, Adum is a thief. I will take what you have said into account however, perhaps we can put the hunt for this android off until we have achieved greater goals. Make no mistake though, I will get him back". The general nods his head, and the president sits back in his chair slightly and begins to stroke his beard. "Mr. President", slightly plump with her brown hair tied in a bun behind her head, nearly pale skin and soft facial features. "Whatever these boys are, a rebellion is a far worse threat". Then she meekly stands silent almost afraid to meet his gaze before he answers. "Of course doctor, as I understand from the report I received you have a solution". " Yes your grace" she replies while leering at a man directly across from her who meets her gaze. " We can quell the population, find Adum and the boys without lifting a finger. I speak of propaganda of course, we merely need to turn their minds from war, or in this case rebellion. After all how many of our troops have killed the innocent? We seek only to protect our citizens and punish criminals to protect our great nation!" she ends, slamming her fist knuckle down onto the table. The tension could have been cut with a knife as the man could no longer meet her gaze, but simply smiled as his eyes fell to the table. "Gods be damned, we have a more powerful weapon and we are not utilizing it." "Very good doctor, what ever funds you require will be at your disposal. Markus, I feel you have something to say to that."

"I have made contact Your Grace." The door flung open and the room became unnaturally cold and the feeling of despair could be felt by everyone even the strong willed president who hide it the best. As every one winces nearly in pain, Markus stands seemingly unaffected. "Might I introduce A your grace, leader of her kind." A large figure bearing a deer skull with antlers that nearly scratch the ceiling, and dark torn blue robe, extends a bony human hand to the president. "President Moto at your service" he says as his own muscular had clasps and the feeling of despair and fear become far more prominent in his mind. Markus grins, but the figure does not speak, Moto's eyes begin to widen before the figure drops the hand shake. "What the gods did you your kind will not be forgiven my friend. Markus, continue this alliance, whatever our friend requires I'm sure you will see to it. Markus nods as he stands and heads toward the door, the figure follows and without a single hand on it the door closes behind them. "Meeting adjourned" Moto says before pounding the table with his fist, and not taking his eyes off the door, then with his proud and strong stride exits the room leaving everyone else in silence.
