"Drop all your goods and we might spare the rest of your lives." Said the Bandit boss who looked a little intimidating to Kaz. He could see many scars on the man from what were most likely constant close scraps for his life. That means the man was experienced with fighting and also with killing. The rest of the bandits did not look like much of a threat on their own but their numbers were definitely a problem.
"What can we do to even the odds, Peter?" Not looking away from the enemy Peter whispered back.
"I don't have anything quite strong enough for all those people. It looks like we might be in trouble this time."
The leader of the Caravan Barked back at the Bandit Boss. "I won't have over a single thing to thieves like you, Earn your keep and get rid of them!"
The mercenaries let out a war cry together and charged at the bandits. Steel flashed against steel and groans could be heard as people from both sides began to be cut down.
A few of the bandits charged after Kaz's group swords raised. There was enough for each person to handle one with only one extra for Kaz or Perish to take on. Two on one did not sound too scary but Kaz knew the difference in power when there were double fighting back.
"Firebolt!" Peter shouted as he shot one of the bandits straight in the chest knocking him back a bit and taking the air out of him.
Perish charged forward taking her foe out before he had a chance to raise his sword. Sarah was not as quick as her but was fast enough to block the incoming attack. She could smell the rancid breath of the Bandit as she gave him a disgusted look that only made him smile.
Windson pulled out what appeared to be a flask of yellow liquid. He threw it at the oncoming bandit and the glass broke covering the man in a very sticky fluid. Struggling to get free of the entanglement the bandit grunted before Perish came from behind and finished him.
Kaz was stuck fighting two on one He blocked the first attack and found that is was a little easier than he anticipated to disengage with the man. Giving him enough time to stop the other man's attack from landing a blow on him. His muscles felt great he was not sure where this power came from but he liked it. Using his speed and newfound power he easily disposed of the two bandits.
"Somebody, anybody, help me!"
The group looked to see that most of the bandits and Mercenaries were occupied with each other but the Bandit boss was moving ever closer to the Caravan leader, grinning as he did. "I gave you an option you stubborn fool. Looks like death it is."
Perish and Kaz both charged forward at the same time to help their current boss. Perish raised her claws and went to attack the Bandit Boss but he easily dodged the attack. Kaz came around from the other side and swung his blade from the hip trying to get in low. But the Bandit boss swiftly parried the attack as if it were nothing. So much for his feeling of power. This man was of a different caliber than the rest of the bandits.
"Monsters, really? You have no idea who you are messing with." Pulling aside his vest he reveals a silver two-star adventurers badge. That was not good, He was levels above Kaz and most likely Perish. There was no way he could take on someone that strong.
"If I don't take him out now I will lose everything..."
Perish came from behind once again pouncing on him but he ducked and she crashed into Kaz who caught her and slid back a bit. The Bandit leader laughed again. "I am Bandit king Deni and I am not going to fall to a pup and some overgrown lizard."
Standing back up Perish growled at Deni. She was not used to fighting someone so capable before. The last time she did was when she fought the leader of her tribe and even then they weren't this fast. "He has to be using some kind of spell to increase his speed." Perish gritted as she watched him. Kaz looked at the man who stopped caring about them and continued towards the Caravan Leader.
Kaz needed to think fast. He hated the Caravan leader but he knew that he was his only chance to make it across the border right now and he was not going to give that up so easily. From above him he heard wings flapping and saw Windson take off into the air. with what looked like a bottle in his hand. Rushing over the Deni, Windson dropped the bottle of yellow liquid and stated flying around him waiting for the liquid to take effect. What he was not prepared for was for the bottle to be caught and flung back at him with such precision.
The bottle crashed into Windson trapping him in the liquid as he crashed to the ground. Sara and Peter watched from behind. Sarah was currently in front of Peter and Peter had his hands ready to cast any spell he needed.
Quin stood in front of the Caravan leader and prepared his blade. He was not going to let this piece of garbage get any closer to his boss. Deni took a quick step forward and swung his blade towards Quin who deftly parried it and went for a piercing attack. Deni dodged it and they traded blows back and forth both seemingly evenly matched.
Kaz could not help but be impressed with the masterful display in front of him. The difference between putting points in skills and actually implementing those skills was completely different. Kaz took a step forward and Quin barked at him. "Stay back you'll only get in my way!"
