Chapter 11: Embassy.

Enzo received a new skill for his tenth crystal. It was a subskill from his archer power more than anything.

It was called Power Shot, he charged an arrow for a couple seconds for a more powerful and faster arrow.

That arrow could lodge deeply into a wall now unlike the normal ones that just bounced.

Enzo could probably explode a pig orc's face, or at least penetrate the skull now.

"I can finally do real damage!"

Enzo was quite excited as he shot a few power shots into the shop's wall but he soon felt fatigue crept on him after four shots of his new skill.

"Phiew, that uses a lot of stamina…"

This confirmed that Enzo couldn't spam this new skill of his at every moment.

It was Kennen's turn now.

He felt a power surge inside him and for a moment, he felt powerful, but then he could feel the power shifting and going in the direction of his goblins. They were enveloped in lights just like the first time they were summoned.

[You awakened your power, Summoning.]

[Summoning: The ability to summon a unit who will protect and listen to the summoners' every order. Only one unit can currently be summoned.]

His power' description didn't change.

His rank did though.

The light on the goblins faded a couple seconds later and Kennen saw his goblins changed. They were now taller, around 165cm, and also received new equipment. A metallic helmet, shoulder pads and scimitar on their hips, even the javelins they used to have at their back was made of steel now.

Kennen looked at their description and saw it changed slightly. They were elite units and any elite units in game were generally drastically stronger than their normal counterparts.

The goblins still had their friendly smile but they looked incredibly tougher now, Kennen believed that the three could take on a pig orc easily by themselves.

"Damn, the goblins look badass now."

Enzo remarked as he went to touch their helmets.

"We can probably try harder hunt now." Kennen suggested

"Hell yeah! I still haven't fully tested these."

Evan flexed his muscles once again but Rafael immediately finished his sentence for him, "Nuts."

Kennen and his other three friends all gave him a deadpan expression, as if asking him if he really did that.

James chuckled and said, "This is amazing, I can't wait to have ten crystals too."

"Well, you're not going to get it before me." Amelia playfully pinched her boyfriend's arm.

"Of course, babe. You can have it all~" James hugged her before the kiss came.

This love bombing made Kennen and his friends cringe so they just turned their heads away.

"Alright, let's keep going."

Kennen hurried them up, especially the lovey-dovey couple.

The hunt now should be a lot easier and they should be able to breeze through any enemies unless the number was too high.

They continued down the road until they reached two fast food chains in front of each other, DQ and MCD. There was also a bank nearby too.

"I'm craving for a good burger."

"Don't they have burgers in the buffet?"

"It wasn't some Mac though?"

Enzo and Rafael went back and forth as they looked at the McDonald.

"I actually never went to a Dairy Queen."

"It's an ice cream shop." Amelia replied to Kennen.

They first entered the ice-cream shop since it was closer, everything already melted away and there was nothing else in it.

Then they went to the McDonald's and there were no monsters in it but they could find solace that there was still the sauce and plenty of food remaining in there.

"Damn, I need to take this sauce back." Enzo declared as he held a can of white sauce and dipped his finger in.

"Ayo, don't sully the sauce with your dirty finger!"

Some of them took away the secret sauce as Jordan used his powers on the buns and meat before they left.

Then it was to the bank. The bank was also empty but there was a bunch of money of different currencies there.

"There a lot of money here, I could have used this before…" James lamented as he held a stack of dollars from one of the offices in the little bank.

Kennen also felt the attraction of money when he saw them even though he knew it was just bad quality toilet paper now.

He guessed he had still not truly come to term with the new world yet.

"Take some with you, maybe it'll be useful if we ever join a functional society." Kennen suggested.

"Will they even use dollars?" Evan asked.

"They sure as hell aren't going to take credit cards." Rafael snickered.

They left the bank with Evan and James taking some cash and continued their exploration.

They barely took two steps before they saw an US flag on one of the buildings.

That wasn't all, Kennen and the others finally learned where all the monsters in the surrounding went.

There were at least twenty pig orcs standing inside the gate of that building and Kennen saw something they had never encountered until now.

It was a bigger and taller pig orc, and it was fully armored in red armor and held a metal club. The only way Kennen was able to tell that it was a pig orc and no other monster under all that armor was because that monster still showed a flat and long pig nose.

They quickly backed out and hid behind a building before any the orcs could notice them.

"What are they all doing there?"

"Maybe it's their base."

Enzo and Rafael asked.

"That's the US Embassy." Jordan informed them, "There's a barrier and a booth there, this is a dead giveaway if you add the flag too."

"It's soldiers that are protecting the Embassy, no?" Evan asked, "They should have some automatic guns when all of this happened."

"Normally, the orcs are tough but it's impossible for them to withstand the fire power of a gun." Kennen also gave his opinion.

"But it doesn't seem that there is anybody there…" Amelia pointed out.

"God, even ARs aren't enough to stop these monsters?" James muttered with a hint of helplessness.

"Maybe, they escorted the diplomats away and abandoned the embassy?"

Kennen theorized.

"It's possible, I see a lot of monster corpses around but no human ones." Enzo had the best eyesight so reported on the details he could notice.

"Let's retrace our steps, our power up isn't going to help against this many of them."

Everyone agreed with Kennen's words and they went back.

"Well, our power up may not help against the group at the embassy but sure as hell will be enough for the four orcs at that hotel." Evan said as he was really eager to fight a pig orc with his newfound strength.

So retraced back until they reached the beverage shop again and this time went toward the hotel where the orcs were.

The pig orcs were still there when they last saw them.

There wasn't any elaborate plan this time or some bait and ambush.

Kennen and the others just walked up to them this time.

The fight started with a Power Shot from Enzo toward the head of one pig orcs. The pig orcs weren't actually very agile monsters so didn't react in time as it took that power shot straight to the face.

A normal shot would've been stopped by the skull but this power shot broke through the hard skull as the arrow caved into the orc's head.

It was one less orc right at the beginning of the fight.

Rafael also showed out his new powers as he binded two pig orcs at the same time and unlike before, the orcs struggled to get out of the binding quickly.

The new improved elite goblins could no longer be underestimated anymore as the javelins this time dealt deadly damage to the orcs. The javelins no longer stuck on the surface of the fat as it completely pierced into their bodies and even if the pig orcs had tremendous vitality, they couldn't ignore having javelins cutting into their bodies and piercing their organs.

Only one pig orc remained but the monster showed no fear even after seeing his brethren being slaughtered like farm pigs as he roared and even charged at them.

"Let me one V one this one."

Evan wanted a pig orc for himself as he hardened both of his hands and punched his fists together, which clanked like steel hitting each other.

The lone pig orc lifted his club and swung down on Evan.

Evan usually would dodge a strike like that but he was there to test out his limit so he blocked it with both of his arms.

Evan only had to take a couple steps back after blocking the strike but the orc's club literally broke at the impact.

The pig orc didn't care that his wooden club was caved as he swung at Evan again but Evan punched back at the club this, completely destroying the club.

The orc wasn't flustered by his lack of weapon now as he used his fist. Evan punched back again as the two fists collided.

It was the orc's fingers that broke at the impact as the pig orc's squealed. However, Evan was determined to finish it right there and then as he punched the orc's face, knocking some teeth out and sending the orc to the ground.

Evan then gave the finishing blow by transferring his hardening to his right leg as used it to crush the orc's leg.

"Easy money, ya pig!" Evan excitedly yelled and flexed again.

"We can easily farm everyone to ten crystals now!" Enzo said with confidence as he dispelled his bow.

"I wonder if we'll get something similar at twenty crystals?" Rafael asked out loud.

"We'll see that tomorrow, it's getting late so we better go back." Kennen told his friends and the others.

The light was dimming so it was better they didn't stay out.

"It's only 4 pm, we still have an hour or so. Let's hunt one more group." Enzo said.

Kennen relented as Amelia got all the crystals, to put her to eight crystals for her.

Then, they entered the hotel and honestly, it was more of a motel than a hotel. They checked each room and there wasn't much food nor monsters. They only got one isolated orc, which they put away for Michael's today 'tax'.

It was 4:30 pm after they were done rummaging that place so they decided to go back to their hotel.
