Chapter 15

As the days passed, the day of document submission at the admission office in the college arrived soon. Annie and I met on the way to college. We got on time and found that Aarav and Vihaan came early and waited at the administration block for us.

"You guys are late." Aarav said.

"Don't worry, Aarav. We are on time." Annie said.

I looked at Vihaan to find him already looking at me. It's been so long since I asked him and he has yet not answered me.

He greeted me, "Hello, Siya."

I nodded. We were gazing at each other when Annie noticed us and nudged me.

"Is he your friend?" She asked Aarav.

"Yeah, he is my friend, Vihaan." Aarav said. She assessed him and said without hesitation, "You are tall and handsome."

Aarav stared at Annie, "What?" He turned to Vihaan and watched him closely, "Yes, you are. I didn't notice before."

Vihaan smiled at them and asked to get inside the office for submission. After finishing the submission process, we came out and found Annie's boyfriend Joseph waiting for her. He received her with a hug, "Have you finished your work?"

She nodded. He looked at me, "How are you doing, Siya? It's been a long time since I've seen you".

"I'm good, Joseph," I replied. I introduce him as our senior from the school and our friend.

Meanwhile, Sanjay was late for submission. He found us outside the office and asked us to wait until he finished his work as he rushed into the office. He came out after a few minutes and apologized for being late.

"It's fine," Annie said. She introduced him to the boys. Later, Annie suggested going out for lunch and we agreed. We reached a nice restaurant nearby and ordered food. When the food gets served, everyone begins to eat. Sanjay asked me to try his food and shared it with me, which I enjoyed.

A spoon clinks suddenly and we look around to see that Vihaan slipped his spoon. He apologizes and we get back to eating. Annie leaned and whispered in my ear, "He looks jealous of Sanjay." I looked at his face to find him upset. As crazy as it might sound but I felt special seeing him jealous. He looks cute when he's angry.

After we were done, we parted ways by saying bye to each other. I reached home and fell onto the bed thinking why couldn't he answer my question yet, since many days passed. Maybe he doesn't like me. Am I expecting more from him? He might think of us as just friends.

I heard mom's voice call me from outside, "Siya, come out." I walked out and saw her as she had returned from town. Mom told me to keep her luggage in her room and inquired about my college admission process. I assured her that it went smoothly to which she looked pleased. She went to her room to rest as she was tired.

In the evening, I was helping mom in cooking dinner when Aarav came to visit us with Vihaan. He bought us the snacks prepared by Madhuri aunty. Aarav introduced Vihaan to mom and told her that we are all going to attend the same college. She asked them to join us for dinner, but they insisted on leaving soon.

I decided to walk them out. As soon as we got outside, Aarav asked me unexpectedly, "Is Sanjay your friend or boyfriend?"

"What! He's just a friend of mine like Annie, nothing more." I said clearly.

"I thought he might be your..., according to his behavior towards you." Aarav said.

"He is my friend and is passionate about cooking. He often gets food cooked by him for us to taste so we often share our food. Honestly, he's an excellent cook. You must taste his food. You will surely like it." I said.

"Well, It's fine if he is just a friend. "Aarav said. I noticed that Vihaan looks at ease upon hearing it.

"Let's meet in college," Vihaan said with a smile, and they both left. He spoke to me for the first time since he visited us and that's all he had to say!?

I walked inside while thinking about the weird question. Did Aarav ask about it on his own, or did Vihaan make him ask about it to make sure Sanjay was a friend of mine? Why was he keeping me hanging like this?

When Dad returned from work, we had dinner together and we retired for the night. I was preparing to sleep when Nia called and informed me that she is returning to the hostel the day after tomorrow. she asked me to visit her and stay for tomorrow so that we can have fun.

I thought about it before I agreed. "Fine. I'll come in the morning. Good night and sweet dreams." I ended the call and fell asleep.
