Selati was still flushed, but the smile he wore was sublime in a way. “That’s supposed to happen, right?”
Aleledai’s eyebrows rose. It wasn’t until Selati dipped a finger into a dot of seed on his belly that Aleledai understood what he was asking. He grinned. “Yes. It means you did a good job. As yours means I did a good job.”
Selati shifted in the bednest and Aleledai tightened his coils around the green and black scales. His new lover seemed to get the point, because Selati gave a languid stretch and wedged his body in between Aleledai and the silky fabric, head nestled into the dip under Aleledai’s collarbone. A thought, syrupy in the back of his mind, was given to cleaning up. Aleledai ignored it. They could go for a swim in the large pond at the southern edge of their camp after a nap. Even his other duties weren’t important enough that he couldn’t push them back for a little while.
