A Simple Fisherman in RWBY
Chapter 15
- Argenti Ovans –
I looked awkwardly at my new maid as she fed Mudkip. I honestly don't know how to proceed from here. It also didn't help that Virgo was staring intensely at me. I looked at her beautiful face as I approached her without saying anything. I had to make sure everything was accurate. I pinched her cheek as Virgo looked at me in surprise and blushed intensely.
"It is punishment time yet, master?" said Virgo as she looked at me with pure desire.
I stopped pinching her cheek and ignored her whining. I returned to my seat and started to understand my situation. I genuinely summoned the real Virgo with the help of the golden key and my aura, which was a surprise. I think aura might be more complex than I ever thought…
Also, it looks like she still had her masochist trait if her reaction was anything to go by. Unfortunately, it wasn't horny time yet as I had many questions to ask her.
I sighed and decided to take the first step in this new relationship. "So you are Virgo. The same from Earth Land?"
Virgo blinked rapidly as she looked at me with a smile. "Yes, my master, Argenti Ovans. I am Virgo, the celestial spirit and your loyal and devout maid."
"I see—"
"You can also punish me anytime you want, master." Said Virgo with a straight face that left me speechless.
I licked my dry lips as I closed my eyes and exhaled. This was going to be hard, and why the fuck am I acting like a kid in puberty. For fuck sake, I don't want to think with my dick right now. Was I maidenless for so long that Virgo managed to arouse me? That was so pathetic that I wanted to cry.
"…M-Maybe later, Virgo, but I have some questions to ask you," I said thoughtfully, hoping she would understand.
Virgo tilted her head as she kept her straight face. "Please ask away, master."
Good. We can talk seriously now; sharing stuff with someone is a blessing. "Are you aware that you aren't in Earth Land anymore?"
Virgo blinked and smiled. "Indeed, my master. This is a surreal situation for me. Unlike some of my siblings, I never had the chance to explore different worlds. I was always contracted and summoned in Earth Land."
I was very surprised by this piece of information. The celestial spirits were more mysterious than I thought. Does it mean they had access to various worlds? Interesting… I wonder if I can traverse in the Fairy Tail verse.
"…Do you regret it? You responded to my ball, and I took you from your world."
"Not really? Master, I followed your honest call and desire. I knew you were the right one for me until death tore us apart… Also, I can go back to my world whenever I want." Said Virgo as she suddenly hugged me.
Okay, that was smooth as fuck. She truly knew her shit. I reluctantly tore myself from the hug, which was indeed a shame as I felt his gracious breast on me. I frowned as I didn't know what to do now. Maybe I should explain Remnant to Virgo? Yeah… that's a good start, and I think it would be great to have a perspective from someone else about my home world.
"Do you know anything about this world, Virgo?" I asked curiously to see if any celestial spirit ever came to Remnant.
Virgo frowned and shook her head. "Unfortunately, my master. This poor maid doesn't know anything about Remnant. I hope you can educate this useless maid."
I sighed in disappointment, but I didn't expect much either. Of course, from the various worlds they had access to, my world wasn't on their list.
Thus, I spent the next hours explaining Virgo Remnant's background or any information that could be useful to him. It is always nice to have a second person to think with.
"What a sad and broken world, master." Sighed Virgo as she hugged me once more and patted my head.
All right, I'm starting to think she is a hug addict… not that I'm complaining, either. I took out the Shadow Dragon Slayer Magic Grimoire from my storage and gave it to Virgo. She gave me a surprised look as she stroked and read the title of the grimoire.
"…Shadow Dragon Slayer Magic. Master, you have such a precious book in your possession," Muttered Virgo in awe. In her long life, she had met various users of this kind of magic, but she never thought she would find a grimoire.
"My master also got this grimoire from the fishing semblance?" asked Virgo as she started to understand the potential of my ability. I nodded in confirmation as Virgo verified the authenticity of the book.
I took a deep breath and looked directly at Virgo's eyes. "…Do you think I can learn this magic? Can I learn magic in Remnant?"
The camp went silent after I asked my question, and Virgo suddenly became severe. This was not something I would have expected from her. From our short time together, I knew she was good at keeping her emotions in check beyond her M phase.
"Does my master wish to learn this… dragon slayer magic?"
"Yes, I think this magic has much potential in my broken world, and especially against those Grimm, I could maximize its potential."
Virgo silently stared at my face. "There is much danger from learning such magic. Master, the dragon slayer magic is not something one shall learn lightly."
I looked at her in surprise. "…Are you talking about the dragonification phenomenon?"
Virgo also became surprised by my sudden knowledge. "Do you also know about this, master? And yet, you still wish to learn about it?"
Virgo went silent, and I gave her time to consider my foolish request. I knew it wasn't brilliant, but I thought I could handle the consequences of the magic. I could very well fish something that could solve this problem or…
My eyes narrowed as I wondered about the only dragon I knew inside my ship. Kyurem might not have originated from the Fairy Tail world, but he was still a dragon of the highest order. The only problem would be convincing this dragon to help me.
"Very well, I shall help my master in this case." Said Virgo as she nodded and gave me back the grimoire.
I was happy as my face blossomed. "Thank you for your help, Virgo. So, is it possible for me to learn magic in Remnant?"
Virgo paused momentarily and nodded, "It is possible to learn magic in your world, master. There is an abundance of Ethernano in the atmosphere. I dare say there's much, if not even more Ethernano here than in Earth Land."
"Frankly, master, it would greatly surprise me if a mage was never born in Remnant… Then again, the Ethernano in this world feels wrong…" muttered Virgo at the end.
This revelation greatly surprised me, as many conspiracies spiralled through my mind. If mages were roaming Remnant, how come no one ever found them? I doubt you could hide such ability in this day and age. Then again, Virgo said the Ethernano in Remnant felt weird… Maybe there are not many mages in this period?
Oh god… when did Remnant become even more complicated? Just give me back my old life already… Not that it's my problem since I'm a simple fisherman. I'm just getting stronger to protect myself and my friends. That's right… I won't get dragged if there is indeed something behind the scenes.
Wait… I think there is a fairy tale about some maidens or something like that. There's always a silver of truth in some story. I should also add a book about brother god to my list. Who knows, maybe there were gods in Remnant at some point. I should look at them whenever I have the time.
She suddenly looked at me sharply as she thought of something. "Master, can you please show me this "aura" like you used to summon me?"
I outstretched my hand toward Virgo as she held it, and then I circulated my aura toward her. Virgo closed her eyes as she started to inspect my aura. We held hands (that's pretty fucking lewd, ngl) for a few minutes until she opened her eyes back.
"So? Did you find something from inspecting my aura, Virgo?" I asked, feeling really curious about her observation.
"Unfortunately, master, I don't know how to say it, but the energy "aura," as you called it, feels… not whole? Half complete? A bastardized version of magic? I'm sorry I can't be more specific."
"Again, I'm sorry, master, but this is really not my field of expertise. My other siblings are much better than me in this aspect." Said Virgo as she kneeled at me.
"Wait! Don't beat yourself, Virgo! It's totally fine. You don't have to—"
"How about you punish this lowly maid for not giving you an answer!" said a blushing Virgo as she panted violently.
I gave her a deadpan look and gave her a head chop. "Oi, it's not horny time yet. We still have much to talk to,"
"Ahhh~" moaned Virgo as she looked at me with pure desire and affection.
"…"
I pinched the bridge of my nose. I decided to ignore this little situation and continued with my business. We continued to talk and exchange information until Virgo suddenly thought for a moment. "Master, can you please show me what you call "dust"? I'm curious about it."
I nodded, took a low-graded piece of fire dust from my storage, and gave it to Virgo. She thoughtfully inspected the fire dust crystal as a frown appeared on her beautiful face. "Is there something wrong with the dust, Virgo?"
Virgo returned my dust sample with a discerning gaze. "...This 'dust,' as you refer to it, contains a considerable concentration of magic, albeit with numerous impurities. It bears a resemblance to the Lacrima found in Earth Land."
"Although I don't claim expertise in this matter, my instincts are quite certain about the similarities."
Virgo's words caught me off guard, and I profoundly contemplated the dust in my hands. Eager for more insights, I retrieved two additional fire dust samples from storage – one of middle grade and the other high grade – presenting them to Virgo for further examination.
"Master, the middle-graded dust resembles the previous one but with noticeably fewer impurities. The high-grade variant, in comparison, has significantly fewer impurities than the middle grade," Virgo reported as she meticulously inspected both samples.
As Virgo relayed her findings, I tightly held the high-graded fire dust, lost in contemplation. Fuck me! There might really be a secret Illuminati group somewhere in Remnant.
"Please teach me the very basics of magic, Virgo!" I said with conviction toward Virgo.
"…I understand, master. Then let's start our lesson," Said Virgo as she took out a whiteboard and changed from her maid outfit to a teacher outfit.
I gulped at her quick change of appearance.
What a dangerous maid…
Also, I don't know if I imagined it, but I think I saw her smirking at me. But when I looked back, all I saw was her blank face.
"First, master, you must feel the Ethernano in the air. Most mages in training undergo intense meditation to absorb it from the air around them. I will teach you the technique…"
Thus, my journey to learn magic started as I studied diligently under Virgo, my loyal maid.
