To him, the more complicated a skill is to learn, the more satisfaction he finds in perfecting it. He developed his knowledge, his strength and his spirit. As time passed, his obsession only grew. In a fantasy world with a new instrument called "magic", The man taking the identity of "Dusk Nightmoon" hopes to find the joy of learning even more interesting and complicated skills. However will he be able to remain as indifferent to the outside world as he was in his previous life? or will the people of this world and the dangers within, influence him to change as a person? Find out in this novel which is a mixture of fantasy, comedy and action! DISCLAIMER: This is my first novel, so I can't make any promises about it being good. I am also only doing this for fun. The Young master(1)

'Ugh.....what happened?', I thought as I slowly opened my eyes. I couldn't see much at first since everything seemed blurry but a few seconds later sight started getting clearer as I rubbed my eyes with my...small hands?

'What the hell? Why are my hands so small?' I thought, and then I looked around the room.

It was a rather luxurious and spacious room. It had many beautiful paintings and lots of furniture. As I looked around I noticed paintings that had the details befitting of a picture, it was of a family. The family looked...happy at least that's what the painting seemed to want to convey. Yet I could notice there was something off about their smiles. Honestly I could easily sense that those were not genuine smiles but facades.

I got up from the bed I seemed to have slept on to inspect the paintings of the family as they made me feel a strange emotion. It felt like....sadness? and longing too.

'Hmm why would I feel this way? I don't even know these people....'

As I got closer to the paintings, bright light coming from the windows fell on a mirror and then it got reflected into my eyes. It caused me to cover my eyes as I reflexively glanced at the direction of the reflected light.

"What the cinnamon toast fuck?"

The mirror should have shown my figure....and yet it showed that of a 4 or 5 year old child. The child had white hair and dark blue eyes. I stepped closer to the mirror and as I did, the kid in the mirror also came closer. At this point anyone would realize....

'Hmm so this is me now.'

After saying that, the memories of my conversation with the goddess slowly came back to me.

"I see.... so this is the start of my new life. But damn I have to say this body sure is small", I said while moving my hands and stretching my child sized body.

'Its a shame that I've lost the body that was build into a slender yet muscular figure through hard work and pure effort, but I guess it can't be helped. I'll just rebuild this one into a suitable shape slowly.', I thought as I felt slightly disappointed.

"Ah, But what about magic? Can I do anything yet?" I said with a somewhat excited smile and tried feeling something. and then it happened. I could feel a refreshing strength washing over my body and when I looked into the mirror, sure enough a thin blue glow had shrouded my tiny body. It was very transparent and seemed weak.

and yet seeing this, a huge grin emerged on my face and I felt an excitement unlike any other. An excitement I would feel when I come upon a new skill to master.

However, just as I was about to celebrate this new blessing, the door to my room opened.

"Oh!" , a young man in a butler outfit said with a look of surprise and relief.

"Ayyy, young master! You up already? What's up homie? Ready for breakfast?!" The man questioned me with a huge grin on his face.

"...."

I couldn't say anything for a few seconds because of his unexpected manner of speech but then quickly nodded. Do all butlers speak this way? or was this kid close with the butler? Anyways I was debating on whether I would reply with "Hell yeah brotha" but since I didn't know how the owner of this body used to speak, I decided to go with gestures for now.

"Huh? What's wrong, young master? Usually you'd reply enthusiastically with 'Hell yeah brotha' or something instead of nodding...." the butler said as he stared at my face as if I'm some sort of imposter.

Wow, I feel like the kid and I would have gotten along.

"I'm still sleepy", I replied. It seemed the best possible reply as people usually aren't very energetic right after waking up. I also chose to say as little as possible. I didn't want to talk too much and say something unbefitting of the child he knew

"Ah, I see! Yes, you were in pretty bad shape with a high fever the last few days. At one point, everyone in the mansion was very worried for you since your condition was getting critical. But last night your fever quickly vanished. Man, we really did breathe a sigh of relief seeing that. No wonder you still feel tired after such a nasty fever though", The butler said as he looked at me with a look of understanding.

After these interactions with him my impression of him was that he was friendly and chatted a lot. The "young master" he speaks of must have been close with him. But from what I heard....I think the child passed away last night due to his fever. And unbeknownst to everyone my soul was probably transferred right after he died....no his body was probably kept alive but since he was sure to die the goddess probably switched his soul with mine and fixed the fever afterwards. I lost myself while thinking of many different theories when the butler said something that interrupted my thoughts.

"I'll say it again, young master. You really had us worried, man. We were pretty damn scared you wouldn't make it."

His manner of speech unbefitting of the butlers I know aside, I had a rather daring question for him.

"What about father?"

My question caused the butler to flinch and look at me nervously.

The reason I asked this question was simple. I needed to know the family situation. After waking up I found a painting that was good enough to be called a picture. In that painting I found a child with white hair and blue eyes, the child was extremely identical to the 'Young master' here. I also saw an older figure with similar facial features and white hair just like the kid, Who I judged to be his father. The painting seemed recent and like I said the family painting may have wanted to show they were happy but those smiles were definitely facades. My skill in psychology said so. It is possible that the painting itself might have been unsuccessful to capture their genuine smiles but seeing as it is good enough to be mistaken by some people as a picture, I doubt it. With that I think the family situation is most likely complicated, I wonder what the butler will tell me. I hope I can get some good info with this.....
