The book I'm reading right now is actually very interesting. The title alone was enough to pique my interest.
"Guide to this entire world.....I guess(For reincarnators)"
I was pleasantly surprised by the title when I first found this book in the mansion's library. At first, my expectations for it were low. But to my delight, the book was no joke.
Firstly, it explained my questions about just how much this world knows about reincarnators. No, even before that it confirmed the existence of other reincarnators besides me.
After reading it a bit, I found out that reincarnators have been a known existence for quite some time. At first people didn't believe the concept of it and also rejected the idea that other worlds do exist. But then just a few extraordinary people over the course of a few centuries brought more change to the world than the entire population of the planet.
Each individual among these few had similar traits. From a young age they were incredibly smart. They brought light upon concepts that the people of this world had no idea of. They also exhibited unique powers more often than not. As if these reasons weren't enough to come up with the theory, the last reincarnator before me, who was a hero to the world, announced the truth.
"I am indeed a reincarnator. I am not the first one and I'd wager to say I'm not the last either." is what he, the individual described as a hero, Astrum Uthenix said to the entire world.
Although it caused quite a stir all over the world, that was around 500 years ago. So I assume everything has calmed down by now and people aren't on high alert trying to identify reincarnators. Otherwise, it might turn out to be quite a pain for me to hide my true identity.
Next, the book explained the world of Tellus. The world was inhabited now by four dominant races. Humans, Elves, Dwarves, and Beast folk. The 4 races are pretty much the same as the ones people know about from games or novels. However, there actually existed another race 500 years ago. They were called "Vastators" .
"Vastators were the strongest race among the original five. Their appearance was that of hooded figures with crimson red glowing eyes. Their bodies were solid and yet they could turn into black mist. Vastators without their hood were considered extremely dangerous. As their face is disturbing enough to cause anyone with weak mental resistance to lose themselves into madness. However, A Vastator without their hood was extremely rare as the weaker ones would perish just by witnessing their own face. In combat Instead of magic, they would wield anti-magic. As if this wasn't enough to make other races feel threatened by them, they also surpassed all the other races in strength, intelligence and....drip. Yes, they were very talented at creating badass clothing. Most of them also preferred black clothes which is a sign of good taste in fashi- Ahem."
It seems the author enjoyed writing this book of his quite a bit. Though I do agree that black clothes can be a sign of fine taste in fashion.
After going on and on about how cool the clothes Vastators wore were, the author finally mentioned how the race had gone extinct.
"Vastators, along with their drip were wiped out by the great hero and reincarnator Astrum Uthenix, 500 years ago in the "Ravager's war" . As individuals of the race were tormenting all other races, the great hero along with his companions and the other races fought in a bloody war. The most frightening fact about the war was that although all of the Vastators participated, there weren't even a thousand of them. Meaning they were able to torment entire races with just that many individuals. The lord of the Vastators alone possessed strength equal to the combined might of his entire race. However, unlike most Vastators he was much less violent and even wished for peace. But he knew the predatory nature of his race was incorporated within them. So in order for the world to attain peace, he finished the job that Astrum, a human with clear limits could not. He massacred his own race and killed himself to end the war. It's worth knowing that his deed which was both Noble and evil at the same time was the only reason that the 4 races live to this day. As the 4 races at that time could not even finish half of the Vastators even with the reincarnator's aid. "
Time flew as I read the book. I couldn't help but lose myself in reading, as the information within the book was not only rich but also presented in a way that could catch and hold anyone's attention.
Unfortunately, my extremely enjoyable reading was interrupted by a rough voice that was actually addressing my father who was resting with his eyes closed.
"Apologies for bothering you, Lord Nightmoon. But we have arrived."
