I arrived at the workshop fifteen minutes after it opened.
"Ah, yer here early ain't ya? Excited fer yer big day eh?" Harmur asked me.
I nodded like chicken pecking the ground, which is a saying that doesn't make any sense but still exists.
"Right then, I'd better get all set up fer ye then, wait 'ere fer a moment." He told me to stay put while he set everything up for me.
It took about half an hour until it was ready, and I wasn't idle either during that time, I'd been going over everything that I'd learned about over this past month. I'd also been levelling up the relevant skills over the past month as well.

This is what my Soul Scroll looks like after one month. A few new skills, and many skills levelled up as well.
Making sure that I had done everything I could to prepare myself for the test, I took a deep breath before exhaling, and starting.
I nodded to Harmur to indicate that I was ready and he nodded back.
"Fer the test, all he need te do is make a dagger, an 'ave it be better than the one ye made before." He explained to me the rules of this test.
Pretty simple.
"Ye'll be tested on yer decisions of metal, how fast ye pick it, how ye choose it and so on. Then ye'll be tested on yer smeltin skills, then yer smithin skills before we review yer work."
That's... A little more complicated that I'd thought, but okay sure, that all checks out. I took another deep breath and began.
There were five metal ingots on the table in front of me, four of them had a grey-ish silvery colour to them while the last one had a slight blue hue to it. I put my hand atop the blue metal and immediately pushed it back, knowing that it was a magical metal that I wasn't capable of using yet.
I place my two hands upon two of the other ingots and pushed both of them back as they were more for decorative purposes more than anything. The last two were perfectly fine for making a dagger but it was now a question on what I wanted to use to make it and which would fit better.
I decided to use Zenite, which was an ore that if done well, could be extremely sharp. This may have been pushing my luck a little but I wanted to put my all into this.
Now that I was done choosing my metal, I threw it into the crucible. I conjured some runic fire that spelled 'Heat' and 'Smelt' respectively. I then pointed my left palm at the fire pit and used [Poisonous Fire]. That might seem a bit weird but I had my reasons.
I placed the crucible over the fire and waited for it to melt. My [Focused Mind] and [Smithing Instincts] came in handy here as I was not only able to focus more intently on the task at hand without interruptions, but also know instinctually when I should take the crucible off of the stand it was on.
I then poured the molten liquid into the mould that was set out for me. There were two others but I had memorised which ones were best for what, and while technically you could use the other two moulds, it would take longer and you'd lose a lot time to properly shape the metal, as well as you would have to hit it harder to actually make it the shape you want.
I waited for the molten liquid to cool off a bit before I took it out with a pair of tongs and started hammering it with a heavy hammer.
Around ten minutes later the heat began to lose its heat even though I was hitting it with enough force to keep it warm. I wanted to get a few more swings in but knew that it would make it worse. I reigned in my desires with a sigh and picked up the blade and dipped it into the water bucket next to me.
It let out a loud hiss as copious amounts of steam arose from the bucket. I waited for the bucket to stop releasing steam before I took the blade out of the water. The blade was obviously a dagger, it had four relatively flat faces and two sharp edges meant for cutting and two edges that weren't meant for slashing, they were just aesthetically pleasing. I inspected it and saw a few kinks in the edges of the metal and went over to the grindstone to get rid of them.
The grindstone was just a rough round wheel of stone that is used to sharpen things quickly. Thankfully it wasn't a manual one so I just had to imbue some mana to a crystal to power it and it began spinning.
I put some gloves on and held the blade up against the grindstone to begin grinding away at the edges to sharpen it as much as possible. Once one side was done, I turned the blade over and did the same for the remaining sides. I checked the blade again, my [Smithing Eyes] coming in handy to let me see that there were still a few rough spots of the four faces of the blade. I smoothed them out a little bit before checking again.
This time it was finally done and I could see nothing wrong with it. I went back over to the table where I got hte Zenite and presented the blade to Harmur. I bowed to him to show that I was done and awaited his evaluation.
"Hmm..."
Nothing to say really, except maybe what do you think about the smithing process? Do you think I got everything or did I miss something?
Anyways, as usual leave a comment if you have any ideas for things you want to see come into the novel.
That's all, Bye Bye for now!
