The Cart Titan took Zeke away, Erwin died, Survey Corps was damaged a lot, since it lost many of its soldiers. However, the people inside Walled City were happier to know that they are safe for now.
"We finally reached Underground Vine." one of the soldiers said.
"Ah! Finally! It low-key started hurting my back you know?" a short woman in Survey Corps uniform, with wide, black eyes and noticeably long black hair which is tied in a ponytail, came out of the carriage saying this.
"I asked some of the locals around, they said he can tell us where we can find him." one of the Military Policeman said, pointing towards a boy who appeared to be a 15 year old.
"Him?" Vine asked.
"Yes." the Policeman replied.
"Lets check." Vine said and went ahead.
The boy they were talking about was a short boy with a small build and little in the way of physical strength. He has short, shaggy blonde hair and large downward-sloped light hazel eyes with rather long eyelashes.
"Daichi!" Vine called.
The boy looked towards Vine's direction, and gestured, "Me?"
"Yes!" Vine replied.
Daichi comes near them. "Why does Survey Corps need me? I didn't do anything wrong." he said being scared. Everyone knows whenever Survey Corps come here, it isn't a good news.
"No we aren't here for you Daichi. We came here in search of... um what was his name again?" Vine said.
"Shen." One of the soldiers said.
"Ah! You came for Aniki? Why you need him? He too didn't do anything bad. He has saved us all from Titans who somehow entered the Underground." Daichi said.
"We just want to talk with him. Don't be afraid Daichi." Vine said.
"I'm not afraid. Moreover, you're at the right spot. Aniki sensed some movement here, probably a Titan's. He sent me to check it, that's why I was here." Daichi said.
Suddenly, a huge thump was sensed by everyone. A few moments later, a 5 meter Titan appeared out of nowhere. As it saw humans, it charged towards them.
"Dang it! Daichi! Stay behind. We'll take care of it." Vine ordered Daichi.
"No need. Like I said. Aniki sensed it here. He may be arriving." Daichi said with a straight face.
"What?" Vine asked.
"Any moment now." Daichi said.
Vine turned back to look towards Daichi, with her blades in her hands.
Suddenly, a huge crashing sound comes from her back. The Titan fell a few meters away, flying.
Vine turned back to check what happened.
She saw a man with long, spiky hair that barely reached his shoulders, in a jacket and trousers standing.
"Aniki!" Daichi cried.
Vine was shocked when she saw that a very well-built man of a below-average stature and with a spiky long black hair that barely reached his shoulders, standing there. She was more shocked to notice that a human kicked a 5 meter Titan, and the Titan fell.
Then the guy jumped over the Titan, held his head, twisted it and ripped it apart from his body, while the Titan was screaming.
"How strong he actually is?" one of the soldiers said.
"Yeah." other one said.
"Now I see why he was famous, why we needed him." the first soldier said.
"True." the second one said.
Vine just kept on staring Shen without batting her eyes.
"As usual, Aniki won." Daichi said running towards Shen.
Shen turned back and finally his face was visible. He possesses defined eyes with a consistently stern look to them.
"Why is Survey Corps here Daichi?" Shen asked.
"We are here to talk business." Vine said, coming back to her consciousness.
"What business?" Shen asked.
"We want you to join us, the Survey Corps." Vine said.
"What benefit would I get?" Shen asked.
"We guarantee we protect Underground with the topmost priority here." Vine replied.
"I don't care about Underground City. I care about Daichi. If you guarantee his safety, I'll join." Shen replied.
"Ok." Vine said accepting his deal.
"Can I join too Aniki?" Daichi asked.
"No. Its a very dangerous place, you shall stay here." Shen replied.
"But Aniki, you know it was my dream!" Daichi said.
"No." Shen said glaring.
Daichi lowered his head down.
"Come on. Let's go." Shen said and everyone left.
