Recruitment-Survey Corps

"Commander!" one of the soldiers screamed, rushing inside Hanji's room.

"What happened?" she asked.

"You and Captain need to witness this." the soldier replied.

Hanji and Levi leaves at once to the training grounds in the woods where they used to train and examine whether the recruit has a reflex to cut a Titan's nape, if one appears out of nowhere. There are pieces of woods placed behind trees, hidden behind trees, shaped like Titans of different sizes. The recruits must cut the cushioning placed on the nape of these pieces. The more napes they cut, the more points they earn.

"Commander, Captain, meet Shen. He's the infamous guardian of the Underground." the soldier said while introducing Shen to Hanji and Levi.

"So you are Levi Ackerman?" Shen said looking towards Levi.

"Yes. You know me too?" Levi asked.

"Who doesn't know you in Underground?" Shen replied.

"True." Levi said.

"Uh, I appreciate you two getting acquainted, but I'm sorry, I need to interrupt for now." the soldier said.

"Again?" Shen asked.

"Yes." the soldier replied.

"Alright." Shen said.

"Won't he need the ODM Gear?" Hanji asked other soldier.

"That's the catch. He neither used ODM gear nor any other blade, but see this." the soldier replied.

"Go!" Examiner screamed.

Shen disappeared from the sight in a fraction of second and everyone witnessed the pieces of wood getting broken one after other, from their neck region. It was happening too fast, even Levi was shocked.

Shen appeared back.

"4 seconds!" the examiner said.

"4 seconds?" Hanji said in shock.

"Now you see what I meant?" the soldier said.

"Indeed." Hanji said being expressionless.

"That too without any weapons, he destroyed every wooden Titan nape." Levi said.

Hanji nodded.

"Lets take him in an expedition with some of our scouts and check his ability in battlefield." Levi said.

"Good idea." Hanji said.

Next day, it was announced in front everyone, that a small team containing members of former Levi Squad members, and few other scouts would come along with Levi and Hanji, who would check on how Shen would work in the battleground. Hours later, they were deployed. Everyone left the walls, except Shen.

"What happened? Is Shen afraid, he didn't decide to come?" one of the soldiers said.

"I guess a real battleground scared him." other soldier said, and both started laughing.

Suddenly, something passed them, in great speed.

"What was that?" the first soldier said.

"I have no idea." the second soldier replied.

A cloud of dust passed behind whatever it was, making it nearly impossible to see the source.

On the other side, the Garrisons were shocked about the fact that someone jumped from top of the walls and ran away so fast, they couldn't even follow it up.

"A Titan's there!" Hanji screamed, pointing towards the Titan ahead.

"I guess we have to face it ourselves." Levi said.

Suddenly, the cloud of dust approached towards the Titan's face, and the Titan fell down.

"What was that?" Hanji asked.

Standing on top of the dead Titan, was, Shen.

A horde of Titans started approaching them, which Shen fought alone, without any ODM gear. He killed them brutally. Continuing to push against Titans, Shen realised he is at a distance from everyone.

"I guess I can try that now." Shen said to himself. He closed his eyes, gently breathing out. He was concentrating his energy on something. Seeing him like that, the Titans charged towards him. Slowly, they were coming near him, but Shen didn't care.

Suddenly, his eyes turned red. He started screaming loudly. Slowly his nail and teeth started increasing, leading in increase in his height. His body grew hairy, his shirt got ripped, except the abdomen area, his pants got torn, he got a tail that started growing, and soon he became a Giant Ape like creature.

"What's that? Another type of Titan?" Hanji cried.

"Is that the Beast Titan? It appears different." Eren said looking at it from a distant.

The ape like creature started shooting beams at Titans nearby. Then it started beating its chest, screaming while beating. A Titan started nibbling its leg. The ape didn't like it. It picked it up, pulled its head apart. Slowly like this, it killed the Titans nearby.

Levi and Hanji were going near the ape, which he saw from a distant. He sat down, closing its eyes, it started shrinking. Its teeth and nails shrunk as well, and slowly, it changed back to Shen, who was shirtless, and his torn pant.

"I still need to practice it more." Shen said to himself. He looked at his left to notice that Levi and Hanji saw him.

They were shocked.

Shen didn't care and started running away.

"Eren! A Titan! Above you!" Mikasa screamed.

"Dang it! I should've transformed already!" Eren complained.

Mikasa jumped before him to save him. She drew her ODM gear blades to strike, while the Titan jumped over them. Suddenly, Shen appeared above the Titan on air, and kicked it down.

"This might be last one." Shen said and twisted its neck, killing the Titan.

When everyone reached back inside the walls, the scores were being evaluated.

"What's killing ratio?" Hanji asked.

"100:0" the officer in-charge said.

"What?" Hanji asked in confusion.

"Yes. Shen killed all the Titans alone." The officer replied slowly.

With this he was recruited in the Survey Corps. The soldiers who mocked him, were silent. Even Hanji and Levi were shocked with Shen's abilities. They still couldn't believe what they saw back in battlefield.

"Who is he?" Levi asked.

"I don't know. But would love to know." Hanji replied.
