The sight of blood never bothered Konrad.
The very position that he was in was tainted with the blood of his family's enemies.
From the moment that he could think for himself, Konrad was exposed to how brutal his parents could be. They had no regard for the lives of other people. The slightest bit of sympathy could drag them down to their demise. The Brecheisen patriarch and matriarch brought the pits of hell on their territory. They had to, or else they would bear the repercussions of sinning over and over again.
Konrad's morality was moulded from the very environment he grew up in. He knew that his family was in the wrong. However, he didn't mind that fact. He was fed and clothed with the same money used for ordering the death of other people.
In order to live in peace with himself, Konrad had to swallow every bit of blood that came his way, without conscience and commiseration.
Blood ought not to rattle his being.
