Lucas 'POV' [3]

It was the next morning when I woke up. I was feeling lethargic, as if all my energy has been sucked dry by someone. But I did not pay much attention to it.

I had to find Stefan today, and I did not have time to waste on such useless issues. I quickly got off my bed and walked towards the bathroom to freshen up. After I freshened up, I decided to search for Stefan in the nearby streets first.

I started my search for this handsome guy, Stefan, whom I knew nothing of. But, it was strange that every time I thought about Stefan there were some dark thoughts in my mind and my desire for power was increasing every minute I searched for him.

I did not dwell on this much, though. I started by asking the residents first by showing the photo and asking if they have seen this guy ever.

Most of the time, people glanced at me in disgust and distanced themselves from me. I did not mind, as it was common for me, back in the village, to be treated like this.

After inquiring about Stefan in my area, I decided to ask about him in another residential society. Just as I passed by the alley connecting the two societies, I was dragged all the way by someone who covered my mouth and brought me to a dark room.

As my eyes adjusted to the sudden light focusing on my face, I saw that it was a small room and there were 5 people in the room. It seemed they were a gang.

At a glance, I knew I was being targeted as it has not been even 2 days since I arrived in this city. No one knows me here, how can they just target me as if they were waiting for me there purposely?

But this time my instincts were proven wrong when the leader of the gang opened his mouth and asked, '' Are you really 'his' disciple?''.

At that moment, somehow my brain connected the dots and I concluded that these people must have been sent by my 'Master' {although he said he would think about it after I manage to injure Stefan}.

I managed to come up with a plan at that exact moment. I knew that 'Master' has not accepted me as his disciple yet, but these people, or rather this gang of people, didn't seem to know it.

Instead, they are asking me politely if I am 'his' disciple. I should take advantage of this thing. Thinking like this for a moment, I regained my composure and answered confidently, '' Yes, I am 'his' disciple''.

The leader asked one of his underlings to bring a chair and some refreshments. My greed almost overflowed after seeing the exquisite packaging. I did not have anything for my breakfast in order to search for Stefan quickly.

I decided not to be polite with these people since these people seemed to treat 'him' with respect. There was also that very familiar expression of fear which I have seen countless times in my village when everyone faced 'Drake'.

'Drake' was someone who was feared by everyone in the village. It was said that he killed his parents with his own hands at the age of 10. After he grew up, he married a girl from the city 'Laura' but was unwilling to separate from the most beautiful girl in our village, 'Daisy' and she was very popular with everyone.

But as much as I know, she used to be very gentle but suddenly became very different after 'Drake' married a city girl. And then it was rumoured that he killed Daisy to satisfy 'Laura', as she hated 'Daisy' very much for two things. One, for she was more beautiful than her {a city girl}, and second, was 'Drake's' reluctance to part with 'Daisy'.

Upon realizing that 'Daisy' had disappeared, there was an uproar in the village. Everyone started searching for her. Her body was found thrown in an abandoned field. Her whole face was ruined by a sharp object, and her body was burned very badly.

According to the village doctor, she was alive when she was being burned. The pain and agony she went through, bought shivers to everyone's back. A woman's jealousy and love for the same person ruined 'Daisy'.

My thoughts were interrupted when the leader told me that, '' 'he' has sent me to help you''.
