Uncertain

In a small lab, a kid was sitting on a bed as he looked at the scientist. "Are we sure this is safe? You know if we try mixing the energy of a human and a beast would lead to catastrophic consequences"

The doctor, a black-haired man wearing glasses and had red eyes behind it looked at him. "Well it might be true, but there is no holding back, the experiments with his sister were successful"

The boy watched them with innocent eyes, he had been here as long as he could remember, he had seen his sister and she would occasionally cling to him.

The injections by the doctors felt painful, sometimes his stomach hurt and sometimes he couldn't move, the only thing he could hear was vibrations he could feel them constantly being created even without movement. His mind was overloaded by multiple mental images

"Ok let's start" The boy lay fown and red-eyed.

The boy lay down, his small frame trembling slightly as the red-eyed doctor prepared the next injection. The boy's mind was already racing, filled with the haunting echoes of past experiments and the pain they had brought. But he had learned to endure it, to survive each trial as best as he could. He knew that resistance was futile, and yet a part of him longed to escape, to find some way out of this nightmare.

The doctor's hand was steady as he inserted the needle into the boy's arm. The cold liquid burned as it entered his bloodstream, a searing pain that quickly spread through his entire body. The boy clenched his teeth, trying to suppress a scream, but the agony was overwhelming. His vision blurred, and the vibrations that constantly hummed within him intensified, shaking him to his core.

As the drug took hold, the mental images returned, more vivid and chaotic than before. He saw flashes of his sister, her face twisted in pain, her body writhing as she was subjected to the same experiments.

At that moment, Yalen was broken out of the train of thought by his sister. "You blanked out again," his sister said as she took a scoop of the vanilla ice cream.

"Don't worry about me Yelen. Just enjoy your ice cream" Yelen narrowed her eyes and then shoved the spoon into his mouth.

Yalen blinked, his sister's ice cream spoon still in his mouth, snapping him back to reality. The cold, sweet taste of vanilla contrasted sharply with the dark memories that had momentarily consumed him. He quickly swallowed, forcing a smile to reassure Yelen.

"Thanks," he said, his voice slightly strained. "I guess I needed that."

Yellen watched him closely, her spoon hovering above her ice cream. "You're thinking about the lab again, aren't you?" Her voice was soft, but there was a sharp edge of concern in her tone.

Yalen nodded slightly, not wanting to lie to her. "It's hard not to sometimes."

Yelen's expression softened. She reached across the table and placed a hand on his. "We're not there anymore, Yalen. We're free. We're together. That's all that matters."

Yalen squeezed her hand, grateful for her presence. "You're right. Let's just focus on enjoying today."

Emily and Seth finally arrived at her house, Thally was swinging her legs on his shoulder as she stared at the mansion. Emily walked towards the gate with no one stopping her followed by Seth. 

"Is it me or does this place look greener than I remembered?" Seth said looking at the scenery.

Emily let out a dry cough. "them, well most of my siblings usually fight and you already know that, And they make outrageous water attacks making some of the plants grow faster"

Seth nodded remembering some memories, Thally was just minding her business and looking around.

After entering the house Emily guided him to her room. Seth glanced around Emily's room, noting the scattered books, papers, and clothes strewn across various surfaces. "Messy, yeah," he said with a chuckle, "but also kind of cozy."

Emily rolled her eyes as she shoved a pile of clothes off a chair for Seth to sit on. "It wasn't this bad before. I guess I've just been too busy with everything to keep it tidy."

Seth sat down on her bed. "Sure but are you sure you want a boy seeing your underwear in your room" Seth said pointing at the chair.

Emily's face turned bright red as she quickly snatched the underwear from the chair and shoved it into a drawer, her movements flustered. "Oh my god, I can't believe I missed that!" she exclaimed, half embarrassed, half laughing.

Seth couldn't help but grin. "Relax, Emily. I'm just messing with you."

She threw a pillow at him playfully, trying to cover her embarrassment. "You're such a pain sometimes, you know that?"

Seth caught the pillow and placed it beside him on the bed. "Keeps things interesting, doesn't it?"

Emily rolled her eyes, but there was a smile on her face now. The lighthearted moment helped to dispel some of the tension that had been hanging over them. She busied herself tidying up the remaining mess in the room, while Seth leaned back on the bed, watching her with an easygoing expression.

"So, where's everyone else?" Seth asked, noticing how quiet the house seemed.

Emily paused, a shadow crossing her face again. "Most of them are out…doing their own thing. But honestly, I'm glad for the peace. It's been pretty intense lately, and I needed a break."

Seth nodded, understanding the underlying meaning in her words. The conflicts with her siblings had taken a toll on her. "Well, if you need help sorting through any of that, I'm here," he offered.

Emily glanced at him, her expression softening. "Thanks, Seth. I appreciate it."

"What are friends for" Seth said, Emily smiled at his words, Thally was absentmindedly looking at the duo, she was bored and was tempted to bite them both.

Thally fidgeted on Seth's shoulder, her mischievous grin growing wider as she observed the two. The playful interaction between Seth and Emily was amusing, but the temptation to stir things up was too strong for her to resist. Her fangs peeked out slightly as she leaned closer, her eyes glinting with playful malice.

Without warning, Thally darted forward and playfully nipped at Seth's ear. "Boring!" she exclaimed, her voice a mix of teasing and impatience. "Are you two done with your mushy moment? I'm starving!"

"Ow…Did you have to bite my ear though" Seth rubbed his ear. Emily laughed while covering her mouth.

Thally had a smug expression on her face. "I didn't want to see you two kiss, it would be strange"

"Firstly we're friends, secondly your grasshoppers are literally in my bag inside a container" Seth continuously poked her cheeks and Thally couldn't move his finger with her small arms.

Thally wriggled in protest, trying to avoid Seth's relentless poking. "Stop it! You're going to bruise my perfect cheeks!" she squealed, swatting at his hand with her tiny arms, which only made Seth laugh harder.

As they were playing, Emily's door opened and a man with blonde hair and blue eyes came in. "If it isn't little Seth, so you're the reason my sweet daughter tan away from training"

Dianous A level 6 ability user, has the ability of blood control, which means he has control over his blood and can generate blood faster than normal humans. Also, he can control people with his blood.

"Hey, dad…" Emily said with a hint of embarrassment on her face.

"uhm hello Mr. Dianous, good to see you still…your usual self," Seth said, his voice wavering slightly as he offered a nervous smile. The lighthearted atmosphere from moments before seemed to evaporate as the imposing figure of Emily's father filled the room. Thally quickly stopped poking and teasing, sensing the change in mood.

Dianous raised an eyebrow at Seth's awkward greeting. "Still my usual self, huh? Is that a compliment or an observation?" His tone was cool, but there was a hint of amusement in his eyes as he glanced between the three of them.

Seth scratched his face. "Yeah, I heard you wanted me to come?"

"Hmph, well it's only fair my daughter hid from training by staying with you, so I might as well invite you, and of course, it has been a long time since you last came here, how are Helen and William doing aha hah," He said with a small smile.

Seth smiled. "Well mom is doing her things and dad is in his lab."

Dianous nodded thoughtfully. "Good, good. It's important to keep busy." His gaze shifted to Emily, who was still standing somewhat awkwardly beside the bed. "But you, Emily, can't be running away from your training just because you want to spend time with your friend."

Emily sighed. "I know, Dad, but it's not like that. I just needed a break."

Dianous crossed his arms, his expression softening slightly. "I understand that, but you know how important it is to keep your skills sharp. Especially with everything that's been going on lately."

Emily nodded reluctantly. "Yeah, I know."
