KISSED

Lily's POV

It was a long day for us. Angela fell asleep in the backseat on our way home.

“She's still sleeping,” Adrian said while looking at Angela. We had reached the house already after an hour of driving.

“Yes, she's tired. I'm afraid she can't have her dinner,” I said.

“But at least, give her a glass of milk before you put her on the bed,” Adrian said.

“It wouldn't happen, it's difficult to wake her up when she's already asleep. Especially if she's tired. I'm just going to change her into her pyjamas,” I said and smiled.

“Lily, is it difficult to raise a child?” he asked.

“Not at all. For me at least, especially since Vincent has always been there with me. He’s always supporting me; he never left me alone, especially when Angela was sick.”

“You’re very lucky to have him by your side.” And he smiled faintly.

“Yes, indeed, I was very lucky to have my best friend beside me.”

Adrian frowned and I realized what I had just said. It was a slip of the tongue.
