Introducing New Produce

With Milim complaining about wanting to leave quickly I dragged her with me towards the agricultural area of the capital. The agricultural district itself was mainly built around the caves in which Veldora was held for centuries. On the approach to the area one could see many windmills and expansive farms. For a kilometre surrounding the doorway to the cave system the forest had rescinded deeper onto itself, a form of magic used by the Dryads to achieve the current 'curled' state of the forest.

There were many Hobgoblins and Dragonewts working across the various fields with man multi tiered farming platforms. We had vertically assembled the farms, using the dirt from inside the cave to set the plants into and using water from the various caves and the diverting element of the aqueduct that ended in the middle of a large square between the various fields.

Walking towards these areas one could smell the fresh scents of moved dirt, flowing water and the breeze that drifted down from the peaks of the mountains. Yells and shouts echoed around as various tasks were underway, fertilising and watering, pest control and planting of new crops... All were underway and under the direction of an Ogre woman called Cathalia. She was a rather lithe woman with small breasts and cute orange eyes, her height was actually 5'9 unlike what some would expect if you were to describe her. She liked tight clothing but also loved frilly dresses, I knew this because she had on several occasions visited the office to ask for advice on Agricultural matters.

"Silviana-sama!" Cathalia ran up to me, her face blushed in effort as she came to an abrupt stop mere seconds later.

"Hello Cathalia, I came here to have a look and introduce some more crops..." The woman's eyes glowed as Milim looked between me and her in confusion. Apparently she wasn't used to people being excited over some plants. Her emotions were so open to my view that I could practically see the 'wtf?' hanging over he head in a speech bubble.

"Really! Yay!" Cathalia ran over to a bunch of farmers and asked them to follow her. Fluttering across the farming square she soon amassed a large amount of staff, most of them being idle due to the lack of work currently needing to be done.

Within minutes I was looking at round one hundred workers, all prepared for the materials I was about to give them. I too was excited as these crops would evolve the production power of the nation and also allow me to create more and more technologies soon.

"Cathalia, here is the seeds of the plants I have. First..." I summoned the demi-plane door and quickly began to pour out the tonnes of wheat seeds I had created using my new ability earlier in the day. Many of the workers quickly grasping nearby wheelbarrows to collect it all. Luckily for them I was here and quickly divided it into the separate barrows, making it so that they didn't have to fuss over every single seed. From this stage I unloaded one crop after another, each one being unique as some were just the vegetables themselves but in a growable form.

Milim was getting bored again with all of this normal work nonsense, So I decided to create some more mystical plants. At first I was a little confused at what I should create a plant of, but then it came to me... What if i created a gold tree that grew golden coins? Taking the idea to its extreme it could be used to back up the currency of our nation as well as to create a valuable commodity, many nations in the world using gold as a base currency due to its rareness. Given the fact that Cobalt was also rare I decided to also try experimenting with a Cobalt tree.

My aura flared and my Ultimate Skill shined brightly within my eyes, the hour glasses causing a rather opalescent pattern to emerge around my face. The very fabric of my magic and Qi intertwined as golden energy radiated through my mind, grasping onto the ideas I had formed and the details of how I wished to achieve said ideas. It was trippy but also really helpful.

Within seconds outside of my mind the trees formed, but within my mind I went through multiple hours of characterising the individual needs, growth requirements and harvests from these trees. The Gold tree would have three phases based on the time of year. In Spring it would be bright gold without any blemishes or miscolouring, In autumn it would turn rose-gold; the coins becoming rose-gold too. In Winter the tree would shift to a platinum hue and start budding platinum coins. The food for this tree was expensive though as it required Iron Ore, water and sun exposure all times throughout the year. Very much like a mangrove tree it could be planted in or near water however.

The second tree, the Cobalt Tree, was funnily enough easier for me to generate as it too needed a material outside of water and sunlight to grow, namely being nickel. The other aspect of the tree was that during different seasons other materials would form, these metals mainly being Copper, Gold and Platinum... I was very happy with this outcome as we had just recently found a nickel mine and for effectively so little cost we could have a multitude of different materials at our disposal.

Saplings were generated in my hand, two to three formed from a single use of my Ultimate Skill and half a million MP. To be honest it was a bargain for how useful these trees would be in the future, especially considering that they seeded in summer and would produce two more saplings for our future uses. The unfortunate thing however was that these trees would only last a maximum of 10 years before dying off.

"Silviana-sama!? What are these?" There was a slight quake in her voice as she looked at the golden and cobalt coloured saplings in front of me. Milim was absolutely interested now as she had never seen these 'cool' plants.

"What is it honey? It's cute!" She tried to snatch one out of my hands but I held them up higher so she couldn't get them with her height. A pout began to form on her face, my heart tightening a little at her hurt expression. That is at least what I thought it was.

"Milim, please be careful okay?" I handed her the tree and watched as she jumped up and down, holding her hands out with her eyes shining like a kid in a candy store. I was glad however when she grasped them softly and began turning them in her hands, looking at every inch of it. Her eyes especially widened at the Cobalt Tree as she then looked at me like I was crazy.

"Honey, do you truly intend to...?" I nodded and watched her become exceedingly happy, a hum coming from her as she handed them back to me, flying into the air and spinning in it. Shaking my head at the flustered and super happy Milim I considered making her a safe Cobalt ring, ensuring that there were no health problems, for our wedding... That was a new topic I didn't even have time to consider as i knew we needed to have a wedding day but it would most likely be in the future and not any time soon.

Quickly shifting gears back to the farming aspect of why I was here I handed the saplings over to Cathalia who looked at them, then at me, her gaze looking confused at what she should do with them.

"Plant them in the sunlight, the cobalt tree needs nickel, the gold tree needs iron ore, both need a constant supply of water... Ensure that these are planted by your most trusted subordinates and tended by them as well. I will set up wards in said spot today, ensuring their safety. Now, also accept this plant." I handed her another plant, the scale plant from the Charybdis fight. It was gleaming like a ruby despite its obvious platinum exterior colouration.

"S-same as the others Silviana-sama?" I shook my head whilst wetting my hands, my magic creating water between my fingers as I rubbed them together; water dropping to the ground in a semi-stream.

"You just need to plant them in a location with high concentrations of Magicules."

"The cave... Okay! I'll get it done Silviana-sama!" Drying my hands off with fire magic I nodded slightly, watching the workers haul the crops to empty fields a little way away from the cave entrance. The things I give them today will make our nation stronger than any other in the luxury food market. Along with the unique saplings and plant I just handed over, we would become a super power within a few months given the speed that the Dryads had been able to give to the crop rotations we had formed. Today was also the day that I would super charge this process.

"Druidic Aura of the Mind!" A wave of Green Elemental energy rippled out from my voice as the very forest seemed to react, the plants all moving and swaying as large quantities of Magicules sunk into them and boosted their growth cycles. At the same time I felt a massive sensation of control waft over me, as if I could exclude certain people I wanted, disallow Magicules in certain areas and also choose plants to die off or have boosted. With this in affect I also applied a rune in the middle of the square, using a laser powered by the sun to burn the markings into the stones.

By the end of my artistic spree there was a sun symbol burned into the ground, triangles placed around a circle in the middle. The enchantment I had added via my Bulwark Cognentia Ward was going to be used in combination with my Druidic area to harm those who were not welcome with rays from the sun but also manage the sunlight needs of all of the plants, tuning the intensity that the rune let through based on the individual needs of different plants. Basically each field would be tended to by the rune, mainly pertaining to the sun.

Milim watched in interest as she too tried to copy what I was doing on the grass nearby, failing only due to her lack of understanding of the magical components at work.

"This is super hard! I will not let it best me!" She began carving the sun symbol into the grass again, her expression becoming comedic to me as I watched her whole entire body become red in effort. Unfortunately she didn't succeed again despite nailing the rune and the magical intent. It seemed that my Unique Skills and Ultimate Skill allowed me to use unique magic that was nigh on impossible to copy.

"This SUCKS!" The sound of a sonic boom followed as she punched through an empty shed off to the side. She stomped off and disappeared into the city, my hand extending out to stop her but halting midway due to the boredom she had when she was with me.

'Maybe I should just let her be... She is too bored coming around with me...'
