Miles away, somewhere in the boundless ocean, the large ship swayed over the waves. A fleet of people was using every ounce of their patience and strength in finding both the lucky ones, who might have survived and many unfortunate ones, who had found their end at the bottom of the sea.
Skilled divers dived inside the ocean in search but most of the time, returned empty-handed. The sea bottom was not too deep but not too shallow either for them to sustain for a long time under the water.
Using the long chains and strong metal hooks, they managed to get the remnants of the sunken ship out of the sea. But that was all they got, and Edwin didn't know how he was going to explain to his town and those bellowing families what exactly went wrong.
He stood on the edge of the boat, gazing at the wide sea while people worked relentlessly behind his back. Every sound fell on his ears, fueling his anticipation, but the disappointed sighs that followed later broke him little by little.
