Balkunn was still comprehending what Lester said about the cubs.
"Isn't there any way of saving them?" Aspen asked.
"There is a hope but for that... only you can help us."
Balkunn was alert now. "How?"
Rees's fists clenched in nervousness while Lester took a momentary pause before revealing, "by helping the werewolf leader, by guiding him to Larnwick."
That one word shook the three people out of their trance, and the reality hit them hard in the face. All the sympathy they had evolved for the cubs and the werewolves was gone and their guards were instantly up again.
"Larnwick?"
"We know what Larnwick is and that is our only hope Balkunn. Only Dragon House has communication with the magic world. And I want you to help us to save those nearly hundred lives and keep their parents' faith in their leader intact." Lester explained.
But the expressions on Balkunn's face were enough to tell him his decision.
He stood up, and Lester and Rees followed.
