Edwin's determination sparked motivation in Rees as he, too, began pushing the structure off his body with all his might.
The extra pressure made his injuries bleed more. His whole body shook like the flame of a candle on a windy night, yet he didn't stop.
The metal structure created a scratching sound before coming to fall on the dome. The people standing down stepped back instinctively as they watched the structure that was now resting on the dome.
As miss Chang had speculated, it caused a few cracks in the outer layer, but the dome was still intact.
Edwin instantly fell to his knees, breathing heavily as all his muscles began to relax. Only a few seconds later, he was right beside Rees.
"Rees... are you okay?" He asked, placing his hand on Rees's sweaty forehead.
The man was short of breath, and his eyes too began to feel heavy. He had already lost much blood.
"Y-Yes." He managed to say.
